Chapter 303: Choosing a New Course
The Easter holidays are just around the corner, and the students at Hogwarts are getting agitated again, hoping that the school will be closed immediately so that they can have a good time.
However, the Hogwarts professors didn't seem to be planning on a peaceful Easter for their students, and more and more homework was assigned and piled up in front of their desks.
If all your homework is done during the Easter holidays, you probably don't want to have a good holiday.
Fred and George's tempers also grew irritable, and not only did they have to keep busy with their homework, but they also had time to fight Albert every day for magic, plus Quidditch training three times a week.
Speaking of Quidditch, to the delight of the twin brothers, the Gryffindor team's next Quidditch match was against the Hufflepuff team.
Although he has already lost two games, Charlie insists that his players train hard to ensure better results next term. As a result, Fred and George had little time for anything other than Quidditch training, magic battles, and completing homework.
"I feel like I'm losing weight!"
In Transfiguration class, Fred is trying to turn the White Rabbit into slippers, poking the poor little creature with his wand while complaining to Albert who is next to him that he has been so busy lately.
If they can't turn the white rabbit in front of them into slippers, it means that Easter will need to take time out to practice Transfiguration, which is not good news, they have enough things to do.
What made Fred most angry and depressed was that Albert succeeded in turning the white rabbit into a slipper after only one attempt, and after several consecutive attempts, his slippers became more and more refined.
Albert was so far ahead of them in Transfiguration that even Ravenclaw's Katrina had been left far behind.
Everyone was busy just learning magic and juggling the heavy homework load. Albert always found time to do other things, making the three of them wonder if Albert really only had twenty-four hours in a day.
There is really no comparison between people, and with comparison, it will feel that the gap is really big, which makes people feel extremely bad.
"Weasley, don't toss that poor little white rabbit, or you'll be locked up. Professor McGonagall's stern voice interrupted Fred's grumbling, and many of the class turned their heads to look at him.
"I'm sorry. Fred muttered, and he recaptured the white rabbit that had tried to escape, and touched its head as Albert had done to get it back to rest.
"It's a lot harder than turning a beetle into a button. George's face was full of sorrow, his little white rabbit was still a little white rabbit, but Shanna's little white rabbit had some changes, but there were still obvious rabbit ears on the slippers, and they could move, obviously it didn't work out, but the change was a good sign.
"Do you have any recipe for success?" Fred couldn't help but ask.
"There's no shortcut to learning Transfiguration, Weasley. Transfiguration is a delicate discipline that requires very hard training to succeed, and you still have a long way to go in this area. Professor McGonagall said calmly, this was not the first time she had heard such a question asked.
"I haven't seen much time Albert spend on this!" Fred muttered, feeling that Albert had been spending far less time on Transfiguration lately than he had spent on magic confrontation.
However, Fred immediately shut up when he noticed that Professor McGonagall's gaze was turned again.
"Easter is coming, I hope you don't just play and forget your homework, it's better not to happen again during the last Christmas holiday, I suggest you finish your homework and go to play. Professor McGonagall walked back to the podium and took a pile of papers from the roll call and handed them out.
Everyone took the list, looked at the contents, and whispered quietly.
"This is the list of new courses, you will need to choose a new course when you are in third grade, and you will have enough time to think about this during the Easter holidays. Professor McGonagall's expression was serious, "Each person needs to choose at least two courses. If you don't understand, you can ask me, or ask your elders for advice, you need to be cautious, it will affect your future. ”
"Professor, can you tell us about these five new courses?" someone said.
"Divination is more about talent, and there are very few people in the wizarding world who can really foresee the future, and most of them are scammers who play divination. Professor McGonagall said.
Many of the students could not help but smile, they had heard about Professor Sybil Trelawney, and many of them thought she was a liar and could not foresee the future.
"If you want to work closely with Muggles in the future, it's best to choose Muggle studies, and of course, I know that some wizards who grew up with Muggles should be better at it. Professor McGonagall continued, "A lot of wizards don't know how to get along with Muggles. ”
"Unless Professor Keriddy Bubbagi of Muggle studies is a wizard who grew up around Muggles. Albert whispered, "Otherwise, I don't think the professor knows much." ”
As can be seen from Arthur Weasley's question about what a rubber duck does, wizards know very little about Muggles.
"If you enjoy being outdoors and working with magical beasts, you can choose the Conservation of Magical Beasts class. ”
Charlie chose to protect magical beasts, and he said that there were not many students in the conservation of magical beasts class. George whispered.
"Arithmetic divination and ancient runes are suitable for wizards who like to study magic, and if you want to become a spell solver, you need to be proficient in both of them. ”
"The former needs to be sensitive to numbers and can predict the future using numerology and grammar. Wizards and witches who learn and practice arithmetic are called arithmeticists. ”
"The latter has something to do with archaeology and alchemy, which requires your talent in language, and there are very few wizards who are really good at ancient magic scripts. Professor McGonagall's gaze lingered on Albert's for a moment, and she continued, "Of course, if any of you are going to choose all the subjects, you can come to me privately. But I don't recommend you to choose them all, because the pressure of busy studies can overwhelm you, and I generally don't recommend you to choose all if you don't study particularly well. ”
"Isobel chose them all. Katrina muttered quietly, considering whether she wanted to take them all.
"It depends on what you plan to do in the future. Professor McGonagall reminded, "Go back and think before you decide." ”
Fred, George, and Lee Jordan were not at all afraid that the course they chose would be difficult to learn, even if it was really difficult, and Albert was willing to help them, not to mention that they only chose the easier divination and protection of magical beasts, and they had no idea of developing in that direction in the future.
