The Lost Country of Snow Ridge Chapter 3 Departure
The next morning, before the sun was out, I got into their car heading west. The original plan was to fly directly over, but because they couldn't carry all their large amount of equipment, they were blocked at the security checkpoint, so they had to rent a car.
There were bumps along the way, the roads in Tibet were sometimes good and bad, my internal organs were about to come out of the potholes, the fat man surnamed Bao said very little, and he drove the car most of the time on the road. Jiang Huai is a self-cooked car, and his mouth never stops.
No matter how much you talk, you can't stand the long way. When I entered the high altitude area, I seemed to be a little overhead. Dizzy. We took a relatively famous national highway in China, the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, and the alpine meadows and lakes along the way were beautiful. But I really don't appreciate it.
Finally, after three days' drive, we arrived at a town less than 3,000 meters above sea level, from where we had to take a fork in the road to the south, and we could reach our destination, Motuo County, in about half a day, just as we were about to set off on our journey. However, I learned that a very annoying thing happened that just yesterday at the beginning of the highway was blocked due to a mudslide caused by heavy rain.
Jiang Huai went to ask for the details and told us when he came back: "The big engineering truck can't get in, and they said that they will clean it up for about a week." I was a little anxious, and wanted to go in quickly to see if there was any news of my brother on the road in the past two days, so I followed his words and asked him: "Then what should we do now?" They leaned back in front of the car and sighed.
At this moment, a Tibetan with a red cloth tied around his head came up to us, and his Chinese was not very good. It sounds awkward to me.
"Are the bosses going to Motuo?"
The three of us answered yes in unison, and the Tibetans looked around and continued.
"I know that there is a mountain road that can be walked into, you see that this road will not be open in a week or two, and if you are in a hurry, I can show you the way."
As soon as we heard this, our faces were overjoyed, and I thought to myself that it is better to hike than to be stuck here, and the two of them had no objection, and finally an hour later, we left the car in a nearby parking lot. After the Tibetans brought two dwarf horses and collected 2,000 yuan from us, we walked in the direction of the mountains and forests on the other side.
Saying that it is a small road can actually allow a horse to pass, and I don't feel much about it anymore. The mountain road went up and down, and Jiang Huai and I, as well as the Tibetan Wangdui who led the bantam horse, were not too difficult. But that Bao Yang panted vigorously because of his obesity,
"I said Wangdui, can I ride your horse?" The fat man held a wooden stick supporting the ground in one hand and said as he panted.
"No, no. They are not allowed to be ridden by my son. Fat boss, hold on. ”
Seeing Wangdui say this, Bao Yang sighed and continued to walk forward.
It takes three days to walk the road into Metuo, and the road in Medog opened very late, and only a few months after the opening of the road was opened, and the rest was covered with snow and ice all year round. In the past two years, after the opening of several mountain tunnels, basically as long as the mountain is not closed by heavy snow, vehicles can pass.
It's just that it's the rainy season, and we're unlucky enough to have a mudflow that blocked the road. The trail has long been the main transportation route for Metuo, used by pedestrians and caravans, as well as by caravans. In recent years, it has been gradually replaced by roads, and now it is mostly a trekking adventure route for travelers.
The main part of the first day was to climb over a snowy mountain, the rain stopped early before we set off, but the mountain road was still a little slippery, the sky was cloudy and the sun could not be seen, and we went up the mountain after a short distance through the forest. The altitude also began to gradually increase, and the mountain is not very high, but it is also more than 4,000 meters. The vegetation that could be seen at the foot of the mountain had now turned into bare stones, and when we reached the summit pass, it had begun to fog up, and the mist soon enveloped us and pressed down to the ground. That's when I suddenly felt a little familiar with this scene.
It's the scene of the dream a few days ago, and this fog is incomparably similar to the dream. I walked step by step behind them, at first we were still talking without a match, and then the altitude increased so much that we couldn't say a word, and we walked a few steps to rest for a while.
For the second half of the day, there was nothing to say all the way, until the sky was dark. We saw a shack made of thatch and plastic sheeting in the distance. It didn't take long for us to get to the shack, and Wangdui tied the bantam to a pillar beside him, "We'll stay here tonight with a few bosses. ”
The inside of the shack is very simple, and it can only be said that the work can be impermeable. On the left and right sides are a number of wooden planks made of stones, which are the bed boards. Jiang Huai and the fat man took off the two mountaineering backpacks they were carrying on horseback. I threw a smaller bag out of it and gave it to me, and I took it and saw that it was a sleeping bag.
"Let's live tonight," Jiang Huai said as he rummaged through his bag.
The fat man also took food and water out of his bag and gave it to us, and by the time we had finished eating, it was completely dark outside the shack. I didn't say anything, and several people were very tired, so they all lay down and shrunk into sleeping bags to sleep.
The sleeping bag was very warm, but the bed board was not very smooth, and my back hurt, and I slowly fell asleep through the snoring of the fat man on the side. When I opened my eyes again, it was not dawn, and it was dark inside and outside the shack. It's still a little cold in the middle of the night.
I flinched, and I realized that something was right around me, and it was so quiet that there was no sound even from the position of the fat man who had been snoring. I turned my head to look to the side, it was too dark to see anything. I took out my phone and turned it on to borrow the light from the screen, and found that the fat man who was supposed to be sleeping next to me was no longer in the sleeping bag.
I jerked to my feet, immediately turned on the flashlight on my phone, and shone it to the side. Not only the fat man, but Jiang Huai's sleeping bag was also empty. I reached out and patted it twice, and I slapped the sleeping bag down. I panicked, so I turned to look at the bed board opposite me, and this look calmed down, and the Wangdui sleeping opposite me was still there. I thought I wanted to lie down and go to sleep again because I should go to the bathroom, but this time I couldn't sleep again.
My eyes were fixed on the roof of the shack for half an hour. The two have not returned. I'm a little uneasy, what's wrong with these two people. I sat up again and wanted to take a look. I turned on my flashlight, put on my clothes, and wanted to go out and see the darkness outside. I stepped back, walked over to Wangdui and shook him twice. He didn't sleep like an ordinary death, and I shook him a few more times but he still didn't get up, and he said a few words in his mouth that I didn't understand.
I sighed, I'd better go and see for myself. The night in the mountains is very dark, and I can't see my fingers. My phone's flashlight only shines a few meters away.
Out of the hut, two bantam horses lay on the ground. Outside the shack, I swept around with a flashlight, but I didn't see the two of them. There was no sound outside except for the whirring of the two horses, I shouted a few words, Jiang Huai and the fat man, waited for a moment and listened with their ears pricked up, but there was no response.
I screamed several more times, but there was still no response. I walked around the shack, but I still didn't see anything. I looked at the bag in the shack, and the bag and the things they had turned over were still there. I was a little puzzled, and looked at the time, it was past one o'clock in the morning. took a sip, and said in my heart why these two people went in the middle of the night.
Just when I was scratching my head, I suddenly heard a place where my flashlight couldn't shine. There was a sound of trembling like a bush being shaken, and I thought it was Jiang Huai and the fat man, so I followed the direction from which the sound came. There was something far beyond the bushes that my light could reach. I walked slowly into the other direction, shouting their names as I did so.
"Brother Huai... Brother Huai... Chubby Brother ......"
In my imagination, it was the two of them who came out of the darkness to answer me, but it was still dead silent, and even the sound of the bushes being touched just now was gone. I was not a few meters away from the bush, and wherever the light was shining, the bush was so dense that I couldn't see anything inside. He screamed inside, and the bushes shook twice at once. The movement frightened me so much that my head suddenly shrank back.
