Yang Yuhuan
The eunuch family, the great-grandfather Yang Wang was the Shangzhu State of the Sui Dynasty and the secretary of the Ministry of Shangshu, who was killed by Li Shimin in the early Tang Dynasty; father Yang Xuanyan, who served as the secretary of Shuzhou; Uncle Yang Xuanqi once served as Tucao in Henan Prefecture, and Yang Yuhuan spent his childhood in Shuzhou.
In the seventeenth year of Kaiyuan, Yang Yuhuan, who was about 10 years old, was fostered in Luoyang's third uncle Yang Xuanqi's house due to the death of his father.
Yang Yuhuan was born beautiful, coupled with a superior educational environment, so that she has a certain cultural accomplishment, a gentle personality, proficient in music, good at singing and dancing, and good at playing the pipa. In Bai Juyi's "Song of Long Hatred", it is described as: natural beauty is difficult to give up, and once chosen on the king's side.
In July of the twenty-second year of Kaiyuan, Princess Xianyi, the daughter of Tang Xuanzong, held a wedding in Luoyang, and Yang Yuhuan was also invited to attend. Princess Xianyi's younger brother Shouwang Li Mao fell in love with Yang Yuhuan at first sight, and Tang Xuanzong issued an edict at the request of Concubine Wu Hui to appoint her as Princess Shou that year.
