CHAPTER XVI
"It turns out that Zach's father is Corey. Stan..."
Henry muttered quietly, lost in thought alone.
"You know him?"
Ashley asked.
"Oh, that's... I had heard the name in the army before..."
Henry didn't want Ashley to get involved, so in a panic, he made up a random reason to prevaricate.
"Oh, yes."
Ashley was not suspicious of Henry's answers, and she didn't care. Now her uncle is the only one who haunts her, and she just wants to find her uncle Jimmy as soon as possible.
Henry saw that Ashley was not suspicious, so he relaxed.
He decides to talk to Zach again tomorrow, hoping to get out of his mouth about Corey's whereabouts.
Ashley also learned from Henry lying on the ground, and the distance between the two was only one meter. Probably uncomfortable lying on his back, Ashley rolled over and lay on his side, with his back to Henry.
For a while, no one spoke, and the atmosphere was slightly awkward.
Henry turned his head to look at Ashley, and he was fascinated by the graceful lines. Just as he was appreciating, maybe Ashley sensed something.
"You... Why do you keep looking at me? β
Ashley didn't move, but she looked like she had eyes in the back of her head.
Ashley's words made Henry blush, and he immediately took his eyes off her and scratched his face in embarrassment.
"Ashley, what are you going to do when you find your uncle?"
Henry didn't want to embarrass himself, so he changed the subject.
"I don't know, maybe... Maybe find a safe place to hide..."
Ashley didn't expect Henry to ask himself this question, so he could only say it casually.
"Safe place? Will there still be such a place? β
After Henry heard what she said, his mood sank again. It was as if he was answering Ashley, and it was like speaking to himself.
"Don't give up, there will definitely be..."
Ashley could sense Henry's emotions and said encouragingly. But Ashley was skeptical of what he said.
ββ¦β¦ That one... If I knew there was a place where it was safe, would you go there? With me... With me? β
Henry was silent again, his heart seemed to be fighting fiercely. In the end, he plucked up the courage to speak his heart.
Ashley didn't know if he really didn't understand what Henry meant, or if he pretended not to understand. She asked Henry again, trying to get him to make things clearer.
"That's... That one... Alas, forget it. Let's talk about it tomorrow and rest early. β
Henry couldn't express his meaning clearly for a long time, so he had to give up.
"Well, you go to bed early, too..."
Ashley's tone was a little disappointed, but she couldn't say anything more.
No books overnight...
The next morning, Ashley was woken up by a voice talking.
She got up and looked at her watch, and saw that it was past eight o'clock. As soon as I wanted to get up, I saw the military uniform draped over me.
Without much thought, the dress was Henry's, and a smile appeared on her slightly tired face.
Ashley looked to the side, but found no sign of Henry.
She wanted to look for him, but then a girl came. She said that she asked Ashley to come over and help prepare breakfast, and Ashley had no choice but to follow.
Ashley walked over and saw almost everyone, including Andre, gathered together.
Andrei was handing out canned food, and several male students were cooking together.
There was a gas tank in the warehouse, and there was a gas stove, so Andrei wanted everyone to have a hot meal.
He put a few packets of instant noodles in the pot, and then put some canned food and other food in it.
It didn't take long for the food in the pot to be processed.
Andrei was taking the food, while the others were consciously waiting in line to receive it. A girl asked Andre for one and handed it to Ashley.
While eating, Ashley asked the girl next to her. When asked if she knew where Henry had gone, the girl said she hadn't seen it.
Ashley asked several more people, but the answer was that he didn't see it.
At this time, Ashley began to panic, and it was at this moment that a male student heard that she was looking for Henry. So he told Ashley that Henry had gone out with Zach early in the morning.
Ashley was surprised to hear this, she didn't know she could go out.
At this point, Andre seemed to see her doubts.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you before. The warehouse has an exit road that leads to the roof of a two-story apartment. But it's full of zombies, and there's no way to escape. β
Andre walked over and explained to Ashley.
"Is this road safe?"
Ashley then asked.
"It's safe, occasionally there will be one or two zombies, so don't be afraid."
Andrei said patiently.
"I know what you're worried about. Don't worry, Zach is familiar with the area, and there will be no danger with him. β
Andre saw Ashley's concern and comforted him.
"Is there really no problem?"
Ashley was still not reassured.
"Don't worry, don't look at Zach as young, but he's not an ordinary person. Besides, don't you still believe in Henry's strength? β
Andrei continued to comfort.
After listening to Andre's words, Ashley relaxed slightly. AndrΓ©, however, did not seem to want to end the conversation.
"I want to ask, when will we be able to get out of here, there is not much food and water, I guess it won't last a few days."
When Andrei talked about this topic, he began to worry again.
"Well, don't worry. Wait a few more days and you'll be out. β
Ashley still couldn't let go of Henry in her heart, but she was suddenly interrupted by Andre, and she could only say perfunctorily.
Andre was very dissatisfied with Ashley's attitude, but after all, he had to swallow his anger.
On the other side,
Henry got up early in the morning because Zach was also up early.
He saw Zach pin the dagger to his back, pick up his homemade spear, and quietly leave the warehouse.
It is said to be a spear, but it is actually a stick with a sharp knife tied to it.
Zach walked in front, and Henry followed.
He slowed his steps and tried not to make a sound. Along the way, one or two zombies appeared, but they were quickly killed by Zack.
Henry wondered in his heart that Zach's skills were not at all at the level he should have at his age.
Zach pulled the spear out of the zombie's head and took out a cloth to wipe the blood from it. Then he said without looking back: "Come out!" βγ
Henry was surprised, not knowing when he had found out. But now that it's been discovered, there's no reason to continue hiding.
"What are you doing with me?"
Zach still didn't look back as he spoke.
"I know you don't like me, but I still want to talk to you."
Henry walked out generously and explained his intentions.
"What do you want to talk about?"
Zach put the spear away and turned to look at Henry.
"Talk about your father..."
Henry was surprised, he didn't expect Zach to be so happy today, knowing that he couldn't communicate with him before.
"Don't mention him to me!"
Zach, who was originally very calm, suddenly became excited when he heard the word "father".
"I don't mean anything else, I just want to know your father's whereabouts..."
Henry didn't notice Zack's mood change and continued.
But before he could finish speaking, Zach rushed towards Henry.
"I said don't mention him to me!"
Zach pulled out the dagger from behind and stabbed at Henry without saying a word.
Henry never expected that he would draw his sword directly. However, the other party had already made a move, and he had to take it.
The two fought inexplicably, and you didn't let each other go back and forth.
However, Henry didn't want to hurt Zach and kept his hands everywhere. Zack, on the other hand, is deadly.
Henry didn't understand why Zach was doing this, and he was clearly a little angry.
To be honest, Zach has good skills, but he doesn't have enough practical experience. So he was soon found by Henry, who subdued him in one fell swoop, and the dagger was also "confiscated" by Henry.
Henry didn't want to embarrass him, so he let him go again.
But the dagger was not returned to him, and he kicked it up for safety.
"Give me back the dagger!"
Zach rubbed his wrist and asked Henry for a dagger.
"Don't worry, the dagger will definitely be returned to you. But before you can tell me why you killed me, and your father's whereabouts. β
Henry patted the ash on his body, looked at Zach with a serious face, and said.
ββ¦β¦β
Zach didn't speak, but looked at Henry angrily.
"If you answer my question, I will return the dagger to you, and I will not lie to you."
Henry saw that Zach didn't speak, and he was a little anxious.
"I don't know where he went..."
Zach was silent for a long time before speaking.
"You!"
Henry felt that he was not telling the truth, but there was nothing he could do about him.
