Chapter 85: Manual Recovery (Asking for Monthly Passes, Recommending Tickets)

Everyone should know that Airbus uses fly-by-wire control, so Airbus piloting does not feel the lever force. But most of Boeing's planes still use mechanical hydraulic transmissions. That is, the Boeing steering wheel is the reason why the lever force can be felt, but this lever force is the product of hydraulic weakening. If there is no help of hydraulics, completely relying on mechanical transmission, then the original rod force will be very heavy, which is also manual recovery!

After losing the hydraulics, the manual handling is fully restored!

Someone Airbus is more modern than Boeing, and in a sense right. Some of Boeing's designs are really anti-human now. This is why Airbus pilots play more of a role as a monitor, an automatic transmission, and a Boeing manual transmission.

However, it is also for this reason that the experience of Boeing pilots is recognized by the bureau when they are transferred to other aircraft types. Comparatively, the Airbus experience is less generic. At least Airbus' experience time is not recognized on the side of Boeing.

Airbus' on-board computer has a high level of authority, sometimes even surpassing the pilot, and even if the pilot enters the command through the steering stick, the aircraft still follows the computer's instructions and ignores the pilot's input instructions.

Okay, that's a bit far, back to the point!

The so-called loss of hydraulics, that is, the failure of the AB hydraulic system at the same time, is actually quite rare. But just because it's rare doesn't mean it won't happen. There is a checklist for manual recovery, that is, the checklist for manual recovery or system failure of A and B.

This checklist is not difficult, and it mainly involves two parts: spare flaps and artificial landing gear. The difficult thing is to operate, due to the loss of hydraulic help, the whole steering wheel feels a thousand pounds, at this time the operation is no longer technical work, is the strength of work.

The problem of inconvenient maneuvering, like jamming, will be more obvious during landing, because more delicate maneuvering is required during landing, but under the condition of manual recovery, the pilot's meticulous maneuvering is not allowed, or the difficulty of meticulous maneuvering increases exponentially.

Xu Qing opened the system page of the DU, and sure enough, it showed that the hydraulic pressure of the AB system had leaked, and the main warning light was also lit at the same time. Xu Qing looked up and saw that the low-pressure lights of the four hydraulic pumps of the A and B systems were all on, and now the hydraulic pressure was gone, it was manual recovery.

"AB hydraulic system failed, it was manual recovery!" Xu Qing said to Qu Xing.

Qu Xing was controlling the plane with all his might, and it seemed that at this moment he was not controlling the plane, but fighting with a fierce beast, and his face turned a little red.

"Let's go home!" Qu Xing tried to hold back this sentence.

In fact, there is no need for Qu Xing, this situation must be returned.

Instructor Wang heard Qu Xing's words directly: "Go to the height of 3600, master the descent by yourself, and establish a blind descent report." You can fly and see, you can, but I advise you to fly blindly and land easier! ”

After Xu Qing recited, he was about to make a checklist first, when he heard Qu Xingsheng say, "Xu Qing, help me bring it a little." ”

Qu Xing was already a little nervous, which made the muscles of his whole body stiff, and the sudden exertion made Qu Xing's muscles a little uncomfortable and sore. Qu Xing meant that he wanted Xu Qing to help him with his strength and let him slow down a little, anyway, he would fly later, and there should be no problem for a while.

Xu Qing hurriedly got started to help with it, at this time it was the gear of the turn, and the pressure plate with the rod needed to be forced in both directions to make it more laborious.

Xu Qing took more than ten seconds, and when the plane was about to be leveled, Qu Xing signaled that Xu Qing was okay, and at this time Xu Qing let go of the rod, and during this period, Instructor Wang didn't have anything.

"Manual Recovery or A & B System Failure Checklist!" Xu Qing read out the name of the checklist aloud and began to make the checklist.

"A and B systems flight control electric gates (two), confirmed, alternate rudder position!"

The A and B systems flight control gates are both in the upper left corner of the front top plate, above the yaw damper gates.

"Yaw damper valve, turn on!"

"The electric doors of the hydraulic pumps of system A and B are all disconnected!"

"Plan to land at the nearest suitable airfield!" Now that Xu Qing and the others have decided to return to land, naturally there is no question of deciding on the nearest suitable airport to land.

"Plan flap 15 landing." As with many abnormal landing conditions, the artificial recovery is carried out under the conditions of the flap 15.

After that, it comes to the problem of the spare flaps, because the normal flaps are controlled by the B system, and now the B system fails, and the flaps can only be lowered by an electric motor. The power of the electric motor is much higher than that of the normal B system, so the spare flaps take a lot longer than normal.

First of all, the limited speed of the spare flaps is 230 knots, and the speed of the aircraft has been maintained at 210 at this time, which is no problem.

Then place the spare flap main electric door in the pre-positioned position.

Note that when placing the spare flap, first put the flap handle in the specified position, and then press the electric door of the spare flap position, and keep pressing until the flap finger position indicates the corresponding position.

For example, to put the flap 1, first put the flap handle to the position of the flap 1, and then press the spare flap position electric door, keep it still, refer to the flap finger table, when the display pointer reaches the green light of the flap 1, you can release the spare flap position electric door.

One thing to point out here is that unlike the usual plan of putting flaps, after putting flap 5 and then pausing first, until the five sides and then releasing the wheel, the process of flap 15 is different. Because the spare flap is placed for a relatively long time, if you keep the flap 5 to the five sides and then put it from flap 5 to flap 15, it will consume too long time, and then the five sides will just look at the flaps if they don't do anything. In order to leave more energy on the five sides, when the flap is put in reserve, after the flap 5 is put in the flap, the flap will be put in reserve to flap 10, and the flap 10 that is not usually used is used at this time. In this way, when the five sides, you only need to put the flap from flap 10 to flap 15, which saves a lot of time.

Another point, different from the normal flap asymmetrical protection, as long as the flap asymmetry, the process of putting the flap will automatically stop, the spare flap has no asymmetrical protection, once the flap asymmetry occurs, to immediately stop the action of the spare flap, otherwise, the flap asymmetry situation will become more and more serious, and then it will cause abnormal deflection of the aircraft.

The procedure of putting flaps in a spare way, Xu Qing had already done it I don't know how many times when he was refitting, so he was naturally familiar with it, which allowed Qu Xing to control the plane with peace of mind.
