Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, I have been in Wuhan, paying close attention to the situation of the epidemic, constantly understanding the dynamics of the epidemic, recording thousands of pieces of information, hundreds of real cases, and at the same time, I keep in touch with the medical staff, who are my students, relatives, and friends. I have been keeping abreast of the development of the new crown pneumonia since late December 2019, and I have visited some major hospitals to inspect and understand, and I felt that there were a lot of patients in the outpatient clinic at that time! I wrote a poem at the time, which was published on Douyin, and one of the poems was "Outpatient Sketch", which expressed concern about so many outpatients, which received a lot of views. Later, I learned from the hospital staff that some hospitals had a large number of inpatients in the respiratory department and the beds were full, and I vaguely felt the seriousness of the situation. But I'm not a professional after all, so I don't dare to talk about the epidemic. Later, I learned from the media that there was a new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic in Wuhan. Later, as the epidemic situation in Wuhan became more and more serious, I, as the leader of the "Heart to Heart" volunteer service team, participated in some epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic activities and did my best to make a modest contribution. As a Wuhanite, a Chinese, a writer, I decided to write something in the face of the pandemic. I first wrote some sporadic small articles, including poetry and prose, but I feel that these small articles are not enough to express my inner emotions and responsibilities, not enough to reproduce the scene of the frontline anti-epidemic of the people of the whole country in the face of the Gengzi epidemic, not enough to carry forward the spirit of the Chinese, especially those fighters, warriors and soldiers who sacrifice their lives and forget death, love selflessly, have the courage to take responsibility, and charge ahead, and are not enough to reproduce everything for the people, everything depends on the people, and the people are supreme in this people's war against the epidemic. The superiority of socialism in our country, where life is paramount, is ready to start writing a novel, using the form of art to record and reflect this magnificent history, which can be regarded as doing its own modest effort.

Some people worry that it is difficult to deal with the material, to grasp the theme, portray the characters, and express the thoughts when writing such a big subject and such a sensitive novel. But I think that since it is a long novel, I always face such themes from the perspective of the truth, goodness and beauty of human nature. The plot of "Gengzi Plague" is mainly composed of three clues. The first clue is the front-line anti-epidemic decisive battle of Fumin Hospital, the second clue is the grassroots anti-epidemic people's war in Wanjia Community of Jinghe Street, and the third clue is the provincial epidemic prevention headquarters to inspect and supervise the province's epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic. These three clues are the main plot, involving more than 50 characters, showing an unprecedented historical picture of the Chinese nation in a panoramic way. There is an explanation in the afterword of "Gengzi Epidemic", so I will not repeat it here.

This epidemic is like a magnifying glass, thousands of times tens of thousands of times, magnifying and showing the original form of many aspects of things that we may think of as normal or sacred, making us think, alerting us, and making us fully enlightened. This epidemic is a big test, everyone is a candidate, everyone is answering questions, this is a Chinese test paper written on the land of China without standard answers, but only correct answers.

Some of the scenes listed in the book are real, such as some natural heritage, cultural heritage, world heritage, city names, and public place names, etc., and some scenes in the novel are fictional, so please do not sit down!
