Volume 4 Ghost Street Chapter 1, Hell Corridor

Anyone who has been to my house knows that I live in an ordinary building.

My family lives on the third floor.

I have been living in this building for more than 10 years, this building is built with high-quality cement produced by our factory, coupled with its earthquake-resistant structure, it is designed to withstand earthquakes of magnitude 6~7.

In our building, there are three families on each floor, and the doors correspond to the east, west, and north, and my family lives in the middle, the one where the door opens to the north.

The staircase in this building is also very common, and there are two steps of stairs folded in half between each floor, and there are a total of six stairs from my house to the first floor.

I have lived in this building for more than ten years, except for going out to school, business trips, etc., for a total of four or five years, the rest of the time I live at home, going up and down the stairs at least four times a day, it can be said that I am very familiar with this staircase, so that I can easily go up and down the stairs with my eyes closed.

The first accident was on a summer night, yes, last summer.

Last summer wasn't as hot as it was this year.

That night, a friend asked me to go to his house to play game consoles, so I went out at 8:00 p.m., remember this time.

I went out as usual, with ease.

It was a cloudy day, so it was dark, and usually at 8:00 p.m. when the weather was nice.

I briskly descended downstairs.

After walking down the two floors, I found that it was very dark underneath, because the street lights on the first floor were installed very low, and taller people could touch them as soon as they stretched out their hands, so some people who did not have a sense of public morality would often unscrew the light bulbs and take them back to their homes, and the first floor was often dark.

I cursed secretly and continued on my way.

After walking another floor, it became darker and darker, but I was surprised.

Because I didn't go to the exit on the first floor, there were stairs below!

But the surprise was only fleeting. As I said above, I am so familiar with this staircase, and sometimes things that people are very familiar with themselves tend to become blurry, and if you don't believe it, you write your name dozens of times in one breath, and then you will wonder if you have written a typo.

So, I still had an easy time going down.

However, after going down another floor, waiting for my ...... Or stairs

At this time, I still didn't realize the seriousness of the problem, and just cursed in a low voice: "What the hell! "Keep going down.

However, my mood became tense.

Because, I went down a dozen more floors in one go, but there were still stairs below.

I stopped, feeling a chill run through my heart.

This is impossible, I know very well that the building I have lived in for more than ten years has only five floors at its highest, and there is no basement, even if you go down from the highest five floors, there are only eight flights of stairs. But now, I've gone down a dozen floors, and I can't see the exit, which can't but be said to be a very strange thing, although I'm not a very timid person, but I really feel a little scared.

I walked slowly down the stairs, down two more floors, and still didn't get to the end.

The surrounding light was extremely dim, and only a rough outline could be seen.

Originally, I was not afraid at all, even if the whole building was pitch black, I would not be afraid, what reason to be afraid of such a familiar building?

But now it's different, it's not a familiar place for me, and the whole thing is full of mystery and horror.

Instantly, a cold sweat broke out on my forehead.

The first thought that crossed my mind was that I was dreaming, a nightmare!

It's an easy idea to accept, since it's a dream, everything doesn't matter.

But I was awake, this was not a dream, it was not!

It was only at this point that I remembered to take a closer look!

As I said at the beginning, there are three families on each floor of our building, and because they are all the same, I didn't think to take a closer look at them in the dim environment.

Frightened, I descended the stairs and headed for the middle door......

The light was so dim that I could only faintly see the outlines of the doors and windows.

Little by little, I leaned forward, ready to run at any moment's notice.

On the top of each door, there is a sign that indicates the number of the house, the number of my house is "402", the number of the upstairs house is "502", and the downstairs room is "302", "202", "102", so as long as you look at the sign, you can know which floor you are on.

Because it was so dark, even though the sign was not very small, it was still difficult to see, and I finally saw ———14-2-14!!

It's — 14 floors!

My scalp was numb and I was about to scream, and at that moment my eyes went dark and I didn't know anything.

I was woken up by a commotion, and it was my next-door neighbor who had returned from middle school.

In that moment, my mind went blank.

That's when I realized that I was standing in front of my house.

I pulled out my keys, opened the door and went in, then turned on the light, took a Coke out of the fridge, drank it down, and then walked into my room.

As soon as I entered, the phone rang, I grabbed the microphone, the call came from the friend, he said that he was waiting for me at home for four hours, and he didn't see me, and asked me why I missed the appointment.

I said a few words and hung up.

I remember I went out, but then what happened?

I lay in bed for a while, trying to sleep, but I couldn't.

There was a "bang" sound in the distance, someone must have accidentally hit something while moving the bicycle up, now there are often a lot of things piled up on the corner of the stairs, so it is very inconvenient to move things up, the stairs - I jumped up!

Staircase!

Pitch black staircase!

There is no end, it seems to be a staircase to hell!

I remembered what had happened until I suddenly fell unconscious when I saw the sign, and then I found myself standing in front of my door, and I grabbed my watch and looked at it, and it was 12:30.

I went out at 8:00 a.m., and it was already 12:30 p.m., but I swear I had been in that dark staircase for less than ten minutes, so where was I for the remaining four hours?

I didn't fall asleep all night, just stared at the ceiling with my eyes open, and though I thought about going up the stairs to check it again, I didn't have the courage to do so.

At dawn, I fell asleep unconsciously, but soon I was woken up by all kinds of noises. I looked at my watch, and it was time to go to work.

When I went out, I couldn't help but hesitate, and the events of last night still made me feel uneasy.

Luckily, my colleague upstairs was also about to go to work, so I said hello to him and went downstairs with him.

I silently counted, "3", "2", "1"!

When I saw the familiar exit on the first floor as usual, I felt so happy and kind!

That horrible incident last night may have been just a hallucination on my part, or maybe it was just a nightmare.

In the following time, everything was back to normal. I went up and down this staircase at least four times a day, and my fear of the staircase slowly disappeared without a trace.

I really never thought I'd ever have the same thing that night again.

It was one night half a year later, a group of friends were having a party. I went out at 8:00 a.m., and because I was in a good mood, I ran down in a few steps, but when I went down three floors and encountered the familiar darkness again, my heart "chuckled" and my pace immediately slowed down.

It wasn't the first time, so I was scared, but I wasn't as scared as I was last time.

I first looked at the house number in the middle, "1-2", which is quite normal.

But the place that had been the exit was gone, and the dimly lit staircase extended.

I gritted my teeth, determined to uncover the secret, so I made my way down the stairs.

From the ground floor down, there was a strange dimness, as if nothing was real, and I had to look carefully at the door number on each floor.

“—1-2 ”“—2-2 ”

“—3-2 ”“—4-2 ”……

Slowly, I was back in front of the door where I had lost consciousness last time.

"—14-2" Yes, it's still that sign.

I looked down the stairs, and I couldn't see anything, but there was a lot of shadow, and the stairs seemed to be spiraling down, as if there was no end.

I continued to walk down, and when I reached the seventeenth floor, I couldn't help but stop.

The staircase still doesn't end, and the reason why I stopped is ridiculous, because I think of the old saying: "Eighteen floors of hell"!

Is this strange staircase leading to hell!?

I hesitated for a while before I decided to go down, and one of the reasons that prompted me to make this decision was because the three doors were lifeless, with no light, no sound, and nothing, and I really didn't dare to stay any longer, but felt safer on the stairs.

There was nothing strange about the "-18" floor, and I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, but where did this staircase lead?

I went on and down a few more floors, and little by little my courage was gone, for the staircase was still spiraling down, and it was still not over.

Just as I was hesitating, I suddenly heard a scream.

It was said to be a scream, but it was actually my feeling, because the voice was faint and inaudible.

The voice came from below.

Immediately afterward, I heard another scream.

What little courage I had left was completely gone, and I ran as fast as I could, running up as fast as I could, not stopping until I was out of breath.

It was still dark.

I gasped and looked at the signage and couldn't help but smile wryly.

—14-2 "I'm on the 14th floor again.

The voices below were no longer audible, and my mood calmed down a little.

I gently reached out and touched the door.

My hand touched the door, but it felt cool, slippery.

This was a big surprise to me.

At the same time, however, I faintly saw a dark shadow flash through the room, followed by a slight "click" from inside the door

sound, it seems that something inside the door is opening the door, trying to open the door and come out.

I screamed, I didn't dare to stay any longer, and ran up as fast as I could, but I was so panicked that I tripped on the steps, fell and fell, and then I didn't know anything......

I was awakened by the sound of my neighbor's middle school again, and I still found myself standing in front of my house, still blank in my mind.

I opened the door and went in, the phone was ringing rapidly, and when I grabbed it, it was a group of friends from the party, asking me why I had missed my appointment, and saying that I had been calling me for four hours, and no one answered.

What can I say? Did I tell them that I was exploring a mysterious staircase and ended up fainting with fright?

I casually made up a reason and hung up.

After hanging up the phone, I felt a little uncomfortable in my hands, and I opened my hands to find that my palms were full of moss.

Of course I know where I got it, and I glued it when I reached for the door.

But whose door will be covered with moss? Unless the door has never been opened, or no one has ever lived in it.

If, the first time I thought it was a hallucination, but this time I can be sure that it is not a hallucination, because the hallucination does not make my hands sticky with moss.

In the days that followed, I went to the library to look through various books to find similar records, but found nothing.

I wrote to some newspapers and magazines or well-known scientific figures under a pseudonym, but all of them were lost in the sea, and there was no response.

I also told a good friend about it.

This friend of mine is surnamed Lan, because he is a rat, so I always call him "Blue Mouse".

One day, I asked him, "What would you think if one day you came out of your house and found that the stairs never end, and you went down one floor at a time and couldn't find the exit?" ”

He became elated and asked me, "Which horror movie is this?" ”

I sighed and said, "What if it happens in reality?" ”

He burst out laughing.

I don't blame him, because before that, if someone had asked me that, I would probably have the same reaction as him.

A staircase with no end, not even in horror movies.

However, this hellish staircase changed my life completely.

I don't think about it all the time, I always wonder, what the hell is going on, what's going on behind those mossy doors? Where does that spiraling staircase lead? What was that screaming from hell?

I've had a lot of assumptions, such as that it's really a staircase to hell, and the end of the staircase is the entrance to hell, or it's a mysterious four-dimensional space, because of the dislocation of time and space, which causes the staircase to continue infinitely, or maybe there is something wrong with my mind.

However, all the assumptions have no answers.

I began to curse this hellish staircase because it messed up my life, and I would even dream that I would be standing on that hellish staircase.

So, I began to hope that I would encounter that staircase again, and I wanted to know the answer anyway.

From the last two times, it happened between 8:00 pm and 12:30 pm, so I went out once a day at 8:00 am, but each time it was disappointing and I never encountered that staircase, that hellish staircase again.

However, I will persevere, and I believe that one day, I will meet again.

No matter what, I'll keep going down the stairs, even if it really ends in hell, and I'll knock on the mossy door, even if it's a demon.

I don't want to live like this anymore, I don't want this damn staircase to plague my life anymore.

This year's summer is very hot, today is cloudy again, and it is now 8:00 p.m.

I closed my computer, walked to the door and stood for a moment, then opened the door and walked out.

It's still the familiar staircase, but, when I get to the first floor, will I see a familiar exit, or a staircase that spirals down with no end?

I didn't hesitate anymore and went down the stairs.

I'll get an answer.

Survive! Or death?
