Chapter 401: Kunpeng Bolong

My father once told me that the thing my ancestor regretted the most was to take the villagers to the deep pool to fetch water, and if his old man knew that there were such fierce beasts living in the deep pool, he would rather starve to death and die of thirst than take the villagers to die.

But I can't figure out why there is such a terrible dragon living in that deep pool, and I don't understand why other things dare to go to the deep pool to drink water, is it my ancestor wrong?

Isn't the dragon the spirit of all things that all living things fear? Why did Zhao Hubiao go to report to my ancestor at that time and actually said that there was an eagle falling on the edge of the deep pool to drink water, isn't the eagle afraid of the dragon? Don't.. Don't.. ..

"Win the old, win the old, you're okay." I saw that the old man in front of me was getting more and more excited, and even had some feeling of being stunned, so I was so frightened that I hurriedly stepped forward to grab him and shook him twice, and he woke up from his memories.

"Oh, it's okay, it's okay," Ying Lao looked at me after waking up from his memories, and said a little embarrassed: "Alas, people are old, and they are more persistent in some past events, and they always want to figure it out before they die."

No, after I listened to my father talk about my ancestors, I asked him why his ancestors' judgment was wrong, but my father couldn't understand, so I have been investigating this matter for decades, and I want to return my ancestors to a clean slate, but until now I still have no clue, alas. ”

Looking at the old man in front of me, to be honest, I really can't bear to break his heart that has been trying to avenge his ancestors for many years, but I really can't blame others for this matter.

Although the fault of the incident at that time was that those villagers did not listen to persuasion, after all, the matter was caused by their ancestors' misjudgment and leading the team to the deep pool to fetch water.

But now I can't bear to tell the truth and hurt this old man, so I decided to get to the bottom of this old man first, and if he insists on finding the answer, I will tell him that it is not too late, if he has let go of that attachment, then I should not know the cause and effect of this.

After figuring this out, I took out a cigarette and lit one myself, and then handed it to Ying Lao to help him light it, and then slowly said to him: "Ying Lao, people die like lights go out, why do you bother with this."

Besides, your ancestors were all figures from hundreds of years ago, and now even if you are the people, no one will know about it, if you go back and bring it up again, won't it be a discredit to your old Bai family? ”

"Well, you can't say that." Seeing that I had the intention of persuading him, Win Lao couldn't help but sigh heavily, and he glanced at me but ignored me, but turned to look at the river, and so he turned his back to me, and stood alone on the edge of the bed without saying a word.

I saw that he was a little depressed and didn't ask much, and after a long time, I saw that he still didn't want to speak and wanted to ask, but just as I was about to say something.

I heard Elder Ying turn his back to me and say to me in a sad tone: "Since my ancestors' generation, our village has changed from being the village chief with the surname Bai to electing the village chief from among the three clan chiefs.

And our Bai family lived in the village as the guardians of the dragon's lair for generations, but in the late Qing Dynasty, a wave of tomb robbers broke into the dragon's lair to steal the treasures inside, but my great-grandfather destroyed all of them in the dragon's lair.

But this time the guardianship almost withered our Bai family, and finally after thinking about it, the great-grandfather decided to tell the identity of our Bai family's dragon's lair guardian to the two patriarchs with foreign surnames who lived in the same village, and then the three patriarchs secretly discussed and agreed to keep this secret.

At the same time, the dragon's lair has been guarded by our Bai family from the beginning to be guarded by the people of our three clans, but the incident of my ancestor hundreds of years ago caused the whole village to have a strong hatred for him, resulting in my ancestor not being able to enter the ancestral tomb after his death, and the spirit card cannot be placed in the ancestral ancestral hall for worship.

I'm ruthless about this, I hate why our Bai family has paid so much, but we can't get a return, and we have to be coldly watched by the villagers, when I followed my father into the dragon's lair, I knew how much our Bai family paid for this to protect these Yellow River dragon's lair.

I can't imagine how many ancestors of our Bai family have died in this dragon's lair for thousands of years, or even thousands of years, but I know that there are my eldest brother, father and grandfather, and the ancestor I just told you about.

I only learned after entering the dragon's lair that my ancestor actually died in the dragon's lair in the end, but because of that incident, the villagers' hatred for him can be said to have reached the extreme.

And my ancestor is also an indomitable person, at that time my ancestor swore that if he did not figure out the truth of that incident for a day, and did not prove that he led the team to the deep pool to fetch water at that time, then even if his body did not enter the ancestral tomb after his death, the spirit plate would not be placed in the ancestral ancestral hall to be worshiped by future generations.

It is precisely because of his old man's angry words that we have been looking for the truth of this matter for hundreds of years, but for hundreds of years, our ancestors have been living in the village and isolated, and have no contact with the outside world at all, so we have very little knowledge when we get information from the outside world

Not to mention some knowledge about ancient beasts.

The literacy of the people in our village has been passed down from generation to generation, so that when Li Yuran came to our village, we slowly changed from the most primitive regular script to learn simplified characters, so I have always had a wish to help my ancestors return their innocence.

Even if it's just a result that everyone doesn't care about, I have to pursue it, and even sometimes I wonder, could it really be that my ancestor did something wrong at that time? Was it really his decision to kill so many villagers? ”

"Ugh." After listening to Ying Lao's words, it was my turn to sigh deeply, to be honest, I really don't want to break the last trace of this old man's thoughts, but in the final analysis, this matter is still from his ancestors.

"What's the matter, you kid doesn't look very right." Seeing that my face was a little ugly, Win Lao looked at me with some concern, but he stared at me for a while, and his tone changed: "Do you kid know something?" ”

This old man is worthy of being a man who has lived for more than eighty years, he looked at me with an expression that he wanted to say but didn't know how to say, he knew that I was bored, and then he was happy when he thought of my previous knowledge and methods, and then hurriedly asked me.

"I know a little bit, but I'm afraid to say it, you won't like it." I was a little uncomfortable being stared at by the old man Win, so I couldn't help but snort at him and asked him in an inquiring tone: "Have you ever heard of Kunpeng Bolong?" ”

"Kunpeng Bolong? Don't go around in circles with me, you doll, talk about it quickly. ”

"Hehe" I was amused by this old man, he saw that I looked unfathomable and angry, after a meal of education I thought of himself as an elder, as if I was asking him for advice, but now I don't have a seizure, after all, I can't always have a torch with an old man, and he is still an elder.

I figured it out, and then I slowly said: "Kunpeng is a kind of ancient divine beast, this kind of divine beast first appeared in the ancient Taoist book "Zhuangzi Getaway", which records in the classics: There is a fish in the North Underworld, and its name is Kun. The Kun is so big that I don't know how many thousands of miles it is; Turned into a bird, its name is Peng. Peng's back, I don't know how many thousands of miles it is. Flying in anger, its wings are like clouds hanging from the sky.

This sentence is changed to the modern vernacular: Zhuangzi said that there is a big bird called Peng, which is changed from a big fish called Kun. Legend has it that there is a big fish named Kun in the North Stygian Sea, the length does not know how many miles, the width does not know how many miles, one day into the sky, become a big bird can fly tens of thousands of miles, the name is Peng. So this Kunpeng can be understood as a big bird or a big fish in our Chinese Taoism.

But there is another explanation in Buddhism, which is that Kunpeng is actually a Garuda in ancient Buddhism, that is, one of the "Eight Divisions of the Heavenly Dragon" in Buddhism, and this Garuda is the same as our Taoist Kunpeng Divine Eagle, after Buddhism was introduced to China, Kunpeng was named Dapeng Goldenfinch in Buddhism.

But whether it is the Dapeng Goldfinch or the Kunpeng Eagle, these two things have a common characteristic in the legend, that is, they both feed on the dragon, according to the Classic of Mountains and Seas, the Great Wilderness and the Western Classic, the Kunpeng soars for nine days, looking for elixir for drinking, chasing the dragon and eating.

These are all recorded in classics and legends, and although they sound a little unbelievable to us now, who can say whether there was such a thing as a Kunpeng in ancient times.

However, I estimate that the giant eagle that your ancestor saw may not be Kunpeng, and legend has it that since the fall of the ancient Xia Dynasty, those totem clans that once followed the Yellow Emperor have disappeared and disappeared, and the extinction has been extinct.

At that time, the Yellow Emperor led the dragon clan as the leader, bear, Zheng, wolf, leopard, 貙, tiger and other major totem clans and Chi You in Zhuolu to start a desperate battle, after the war the dragon has been inherited in China, but after the fall of the Xia Dynasty, the dragon clan disappeared inexplicably, and at the same time with the dragon disappeared there are some ancient totem clans, including the Hu clan.

Some people say that this is a big cat, and some people say that it is the legendary unicorn, but there is a Kunpeng clan in this disappeared family, and Kunpeng also disappeared after the fall of the Xia Dynasty, and no one has seen the true face of Kunpeng in the next few hundred years.

On the contrary, after Buddhism was introduced to Middle-earth, Buddhism began to preach on a large scale, and people learned that there was a big bird called the Golden-winged Dapeng, and I suspect that the kind of big bird that your ancestors saw was the descendant of the Golden-winged Dapeng.

Similarly, there is a legend that the Golden-winged Dapeng Bird is a descendant of the Kunpeng, but later after the introduction of Buddhism, the status of the Golden-winged Dapeng Bird was elevated, and it was raised to the same position as the Kunpeng.

In fact, the purpose is to fight with our native Taoism, which also involves the open and secret struggle between religions, there is a kind of sacred bird after the golden-winged Dapeng bird, called the golden goose eagle, Kunpeng is an ancient species, and there is no Kunpeng in the world after ancient times.

However, there is a golden-winged Dapeng bird, to the end of the Tang Dynasty, the golden-winged Dapeng bird has since disappeared, this golden goose eagle is still recorded in the Yuan Dynasty, I was able to know.

However, there is one thing that remains unchanged from its origin, that is, the giant bird is to find the stubble of the evil dragon, whether it is a Kunpeng or a golden-winged Dapeng bird, or a golden goose condor, they are not afraid of dragons, but deliberately find dragons for food.

This kind of thing is recorded in my ancestral ancient books, the Golden Goose Condor is born to seek dragons for food for monsters, and slay the dragon to swallow gall to increase its Taoism, the larger the size of the Golden Goose Condor, the longer it lives.

Therefore, at that time, the judgment of your ancestors was not good, it was a misjudgment, and when you saw that no one and any animal dared to approach the deep pool, you still took this risk, and more importantly, the eagle was the only creature among all things that was not afraid of dragons.

There is only one eagle in the world that is not afraid of the dragon, not to mention the golden goose giant eagle, so in ancient Buddhism there is an exercise called Kunpeng Bo Longshu, which is said to be imitated by the ancient Buddhist power after seeing Kunpeng slaying the dragon. Your ancestors are indeed responsible for the villagers who died. ”
