Chapter 0812: Airborne Raid
In the dark.
Tanba lay on the ground, his fingers clinging to the rotting leaves in the forest, his head buried in the soil, and endured the strong whirlwind of the rotors hanging over his head over the treetops.
His heart was beating wildly at the moment, bringing tightness and blackness in his chest, and his lungs were desperate to breathe, but reason forced him to be a dead man. Because there were literally several corpses lying in front of him and behind him.
I don't know how long I endured it, and it was like a long life.
Feeling the whirlwind overhead leave, Tanba got up from among the fallen leaves. Fear drove him to tears, made his muscles tremble, and he couldn't control himself.
The camp in the woods was destroyed, and a dozen rockets blew up the wooden houses. The thatch of the roof was scattered everywhere. Some were lit with light, some were scorched with smoke.
There was a series of large craters in the center of the camp, and the fragments of the explosion swept across a range of more than ten meters. Someone escaped from the house, just in time to be blown up by a grenade, and the force of the explosion collapsed the house.
The attack came so suddenly that the whole camp was defenseless. When the roar of the rotors is heard, the enemy has appeared overhead. The two helicopters were equipped with infrared headlights, which openly illuminated the entire camp, which was to bully the lack of night vision devices in the camp.
In addition to the infrared headlights, the helicopter is flanked by four 90-millimeter rocket launch nests. As soon as they showed up, they washed the ground with rockets.
The nearly 100 rockets alone caused a catastrophe to the camp, and many people were killed in a daze. The buildings in the camp were destroyed and collapsed.
The rockets were emptied, and two helicopters circled around the camp. One lowered the soldiers with ropes, and the other strafed the ground with machine guns. With night vision devices, any movement on the ground will be suppressed.
Imagine the panic of the camp, the people in the camp scurrying around, running around without a head. They didn't know who had attacked them, and they just ran around. No one has the morale to resist, let alone what to resist.
But in front of the night vision device, the more you run, the more obvious it is, and the more you are killed.
Two helicopters alternately took cover, one finished putting the soldiers, and the other continued to put it. The hatches on both sides of it opened, and it took less than a minute for twenty special operators to come down.
The next situation was even worse, and the enemy who landed on the ground was extremely firepower. They formed two diagonal formations to shoot cross-fire, dropping grenades or using bazookas when they encountered camp houses.
At the time of the attack, Tamba was fetching water outside the camp. When the shots rang out, he threw the aluminium bucket and ran into the woods with his companions.
But the special operations team was attacking the camp, and the door machine guns of the two helicopters cleared the perimeter. Tambo scurried through the woodland, hovering helicopters flying overhead, hot shells landing in his face.
The warhead hung like a scorching wind, and all the targets it hit fell to the ground and died.
Dambo was crushed by fear, and he fell to the ground shivering. His mind was completely blank, and his heart was full of remorse—it must have been the retaliation for the attack on the post the other day. I knew that I should have sneaked away like this.
In less than ten minutes, the special operations team destroyed the camp hidden in the woods. They deliberately set fire to the storehouses and refining rooms with incendiary bombs, and the most important parts of the camp were burned with fire.
At the end of the mission, the helicopter again lowered the sling. Twenty special operators hung themselves on hooks to the rings of the sling. The body was lifted as if lifting cargo, and it quickly left with the special combat personnel.
Ten minutes later, a light Yun-5 flew over, also with infrared headlights, and took pictures from a distance of more than 1,000 meters to evaluate the effect. After filming, he left again.
Tanba didn't have the courage to get up from the ground until now. But as soon as he walked around, he found that his right leg was weak, and when he reached out and touched it, he realized that he had been shot. Gritting his teeth to bandage his wounds, he ran towards the destroyed camp, trying to find something of value.
There were about 150 people in the camp, most of whom fell to the ground. The rest fled into the woods. Tanba limped and jumped back, knowing he had to hurry, or he wouldn't be able to get his turn even if there were good things.
Picking up a gun from the corpse and carrying two grenades, Tambo ran to the refining room first. Usually, this place is guarded by the general's cronies, and outsiders are not even allowed to approach.
Now all the cronies have been killed, and the tattered corpses are lying all over the ground. Their well-equipped equipment was of no use when they were attacked by a concentrated fire.
But the refining room was set on fire, and even the warehouse was not saved. The burning flames emitted infinite heat, and there was a peculiar smell in the air, forcing people to stay away.
Tanba turned to the general's house again.
He said that he was a 'general', but in fact he was a bandit leader, with several strongholds in the mountains of northern Myanmar, and hundreds of men controlled more than a dozen villages to reclaim tobacco fields.
Tanba is a miscellaneous soldier who was captured from a nearby village, and he usually doesn't make much money by working hard in the camp. Intimidated by the general's usual obscenity, he walked outside the general's house and did not dare to enter, and watched for a while.
There are no good houses built in the mountains and woodlands, just two-story stilted buildings. The general's bodyguard lives underneath, and upstairs is the general's bedroom.
But the helicopter attackers apparently knew a lot about the camp, and multiple rockets hit the house, knocking it down on one side.
Thinking that there must be a lot of cash in the house, Tamba dared to walk in. The exterior of this house looks ordinary, but the interior is luxuriously decorated.
The camp's diesel generator was finished, and the house was black. However, with the light of the fires burning around the camp, you can still get a glimpse of the interior furnishings.
On the first floor, there is a TV, a refrigerator, a VCR, a radio station in the corner, and a wooden coffee table in the center. This is the general's living room, where he entertains distinguished guests.
The furnishings here are all painstakingly bought from outside. Tamba still remembers the hard work of carrying the refrigerator into the camp, and the exhaustion of two pack horses on the way almost killed him to death.
Two walls on the first floor were blown down, and several of the general's guards fell under the coffee table. They were supposed to be playing cards when a rocket blasted in, soaking the poker floors with blood.
Most of the downstairs collapsed, and the second floor was not saved. Tanba climbed up with his gun in hand and heard a groan. The general, who had been a powerful general, fell on the carpet, and the collapsed wooden beams pressed down on his back.
In the darkness, hearing someone coming up, the general with a meaty face raised his head. Half of his face was covered in blood, and he wanted to speak but couldn't.
In order to strengthen his courage, Tanbo shouted with his gun: "The camp is over, you have provoked people who should not be provoked." Where's your safe? Hand over the money quickly. ”
The general didn't respond, only gasped.
Tanba smashed him in the face with the butt of his rifle and demanded money. But this guy was beaten to the point that his flesh flew and he didn't speak. It was a long time before Tambo saw a piece of shrapnel slice the general's cheek and shatter his tongue.
"Waste of time." Tampo scolded hatefully, and in a fit of rage, he shot the general's skull. He searched everywhere again, but found only a watch that was worth a lot of money.
The flames in the camp grew louder and louder, and the surrounding area gradually resounded with the sound of human voices, and the other survivors returned. Dambo panicked, feeling that he could not stay long, so he limped away again, submerging into the darkness outside the camp.
