Lone lamp
Some people are born alone.
Loneliness is a little different from loneliness, they may not be without friends by their side, but their souls are always at the top of what others can't reach.
Looking down in the cold wind, there are sentient beings under the mountain, and there is no one beside them, suffering from self-suffering, happy and happy, this is called loneliness.
He was born into a poor family and seven brothers and sisters.
Unfortunately, it was one of the most difficult times on earth.
At this time, the demon world is not peaceful, and the monsters inside seem to be in a civil war, and many monsters take the opportunity to escape from the demon world and slip into the world, making waves in the world. The demon plague has not subsided, and the natural disasters have come again, with two consecutive years of drought, no crops and starvation, almost forcing the people to a dead end.
More than a dozen mouths for eating made it difficult for the family to move forward and crumble.
Even if it was a white porridge with almost clear water, the food stored at home was quickly bottomed out, and the wild vegetables on several nearby hills were dug up, and even the bark of trees was stripped away.
In desperation, the parents had to decide that only three children could be left in the family.
Leaving only three meant that the rest of the children had to leave.
What does it mean to be away from home in this day and age? Meant to die......
After the parents agreed who would stay and who would leave, three of the four children who were going to leave cried.
He was unfortunate enough to be on the list of departures, but he didn't cry.
It's no accident, he's born to be a man of few words, not good at words, and never gets seen by others, so it's no surprise that he's not going to be treated well.
He sighed slightly. Not for yourself, but for others.
In order to be forced by the situation, he had to give up his own parents, for the three children who were destined to bear the guilt of watching his brothers and sisters die, and for his brothers and sisters who were about to die with him.
Also for this era, for the world......
Of the four children who left, there were only two girls out of seven siblings, and in such times, faced with such a choice, the girl's ending was always in suspense.
The other two boys, one is the frail and sickly old seven, and he has always been called a dull wood.
The parents left behind three strong, intelligent, and eloquent boys to ensure that when they grow up, they can contribute to the family to the fullest; And the other four children, their departure, had the least impact on the family.
So they took the only small bag of rice given by their parents and embarked on the road to survival.
But on the third day of departure, the rice was finished.
They walked hungry for a few days, and then the seventh died.
After a few more days, the two girls also died.
He was the only one who miraculously survived and walked all the way to Kuhai Temple.
When he passed by the foot of the mountain, the monks of Kuhai Temple were giving porridge.
People marched slowly in long lines.
He could no longer go any longer, so he sat down against a stone and watched quietly.
We sat until dark, when the porridge was finished, the refugees were gone, and the monks were packing up their things and preparing to go up the mountain.
He was still watching quietly, and a few monks noticed him, pointing at him and whispering something.
At this time, a young monk walked over with half a black-flour steamed bun in his hand.
The monk handed him the steamed buns: "Little donor, I saw you sitting here for a day, come and eat something." ”
He stared blankly at the monk.
The monk smiled: "Take it." ”
He hesitated for a while, and finally took the steamed bun in his hand, and after taking a tentative bite, he secretly looked at the monk, but the monk still smiled kindly.
So he began to gobble it up, swallowing the steamed bun in three or two bites.
The monk said: "Kuhai Temple will give porridge here every day, if you don't have anything to eat, just wait here." ”
He looked at the monk and was a little surprised: "Daily? ”
"Daily."
"That's a lot of rice! Where did you get so much rice? ”
"Some of them have grown themselves, and some of them have been donated by donors before. The monks of Kuhai Temple are frugal on weekdays, and after a long time, they can save a lot of rice; In times of famine, we can make rice into porridge and return it to the donors. ”
"But I've never donated rice to you before, will you give me porridge to drink?"
The monk smiled: "I am a Buddha with compassion." Kindness is not just a return. We can be the inheritors of goodwill or the initiators of goodwill. ”
"Who told you to do this?"
"It's a Buddha."
"Buddha? Where is the Buddha? ”
"Buddhas are everywhere."
"Is he here, too? How can I not see? ”
"You don't have to be able to see something to exist...... Can you see the wind? ”
He thought for a moment and pointed to a tree not far away: "If I see the leaves moving, I know that the wind is blowing." ”
"Good, good." The monk said, "When I see someone doing good, I know that the Buddha is in his heart." ”
"Oh." He nodded.
A monk was shouting: "Second senior brother! It's time for us to go! ”
The monk saluted him and said, "Little donor, take your leave." ”
He nodded.
Looking at the tall back of the monk gradually moving away, he muttered, "There will be porridge tomorrow, right?" ”
"That way, no one will starve to death here."
"If we had arrived here earlier, wouldn't our brothers and sisters have died?"
"Why aren't there any monks near my house? If there were more monks in this world, wouldn't we have to come out? ”
He had heard of monks in the mouths of others before, but his impression of them was only limited to meditation, chanting sutras and fasting, and he did not expect that the life of a monk would be like this - accept the kindness of the world, and then spread it.
What the monk did was a good thing!
"It's good to be a monk." He had such an idea inexplicably.
Looking up, the group of monks picked up heavy objects, but they were still walking on the steep mountain road, walking like flying. Compared with the whole mountain, their figures are small, like a group of small ants in a hurry to return to their nests, and their anthill is a magnificent palace.
The setting sun hides behind the palace and gilds a layer of brilliance around it.
The palace stands steadily on the top of the mountain, like a giant sitting cross-legged.
He stared at it with tears in his eyes.
He seems to have seen the Buddha......
The next day, when the group of monks came again, he hurried up.
He found the great monk who had given him steamed buns yesterday and asked him, "How can I become a monk?" ”
The second senior brother was taken aback: "You want to be a monk?" ”
He nodded.
So the second senior brother took him up the mountain.
He was so tired and out of breath that he knelt down in front of the Buddha hall and looked at the huge golden Buddha in the hall.
The Buddha statue lowered its eyes slightly, and the corners of its mouth smiled.
He excitedly stretched out his hand, pointed to the Buddha statue and said, "This is the Buddha!" I was yesterday! I've seen him! ”
The second senior brother knocked on his head: "You can't point your finger at the Buddha, it's a big disrespect." ”
A white-robed monk stood in front of him and said, "Where are you from?" ”
He looked up, this big monk had thick eyebrows and big eyes, a square face, and his brows were slightly frowning at this time, with an inviolable righteousness that was not angry and self-righteous!
He said, "I'm coming out of my house." ”
"Where is your home?"
"A nameless city in the world."
"Why did you come out?"
"I can't support too many children at home, so I chose a few, and I was one of those who came out."
Senior Brother frowned: "What about the brothers and sisters who came out with you?" ”
He said, "They all died on the road." ”
The second senior brother frowned and was speechless.
The senior brother said: "Kuhai Temple is not a refuge, if you just want to survive, go to the bottom of the mountain and wait for the soup kitchen, there is no need to be a monk." ”
He shook his head: "Being a beggar is more important than living. If I had become a monk, I would have been able to help more people, and there would have been fewer people in the world like my younger siblings who were forced to leave their homes and starved to death on the side of the road. ”
The senior brother was slightly taken aback, and he said: "Have you thought about it, this is not a joke, Buddhism practice, but a lifetime thing." ”
"I've figured it out." With a twinkle in his eye, he nodded firmly.
Then, the abbot shaved him and gave him the Dharma name: "Chang Ming." ”
Chang Ming folded his hands and bowed respectfully: "Amitabha, thank you Abbot." ”
The moment he got up, there was a flash of lightning, a loud bang in the air, and a thunderclap exploded.
The wind howled, and the sky soon became overcast, and then raindrops fell.
After a while, the light raindrop turned into a downpour.
After a long drought, there is a boiling inside and outside the temple.
The abbot nodded: "My Buddha is merciful, the drought has finally passed." ”
Chang Ming stood at the gate of the temple, looking up blankly at where the raindrops were coming from.
"Amitabha Buddha ......"
In the fifth year of Chang Ming's conversion to Buddhism, he was ordered by the abbot to leave the temple to find the biggest thing in the world.
So Chang Ming entered the world.
"What's the biggest thing in the world?" Chang Ming thought.
Until he saw a baby on the side of the road.
The baby cries incessantly on the side of the road, and the cry is faint.
Chang Ming didn't think much about it, and hurriedly ran over and hugged the child in his arms.
The child stopped crying and looked at Chang Ming with his eyes open, his eyes full of curiosity.
Chang Ming frowned: "Whose child is this?" ”
He inquired nearby with the child in his arms, but no one claimed him. Chang Ming probably understands that this child, like himself, has also been chosen by his parents, and then he is out together.
He took the child back to Kuhai Temple.
The abbot smiled bitterly: "I never expected that you would bring a baby back." ”
Chang Ming said: "His future is full of infinite possibilities, isn't it the biggest thing in the world?" ”
In fact, such a statement was only made up by him on an improvised basis.
As for what is the biggest thing in the world, he is not very clear.
But Chang Ming didn't know that the child he brought back was actually a natural disaster.
Kuhai Temple successively gave him to two families to raise, and both families suffered a catastrophe.
Helpless, the abbot had to leave him in Kuhai Temple.
Unexpectedly, the ferocity on this child's body could not be suppressed even by the Buddha! Kuhai Temple had an accident at both ends in three days, and the monks in the temple complained bitterly and complained.
Chang Ming felt guilty: "Abbot, let me leave with this child." Since I brought him back, I should be held accountable to him. ”
The abbot shook his head: "You yourself are just a child, how can you afford it?" As the saying goes, if I don't go to hell, who goes to hell, since the Buddha arranged for him to come to Kuhai Temple, he has his own reason, Amitabha! ”
Not long after, the abbot suddenly announced that the child would be admitted to the Buddha Gate and given the Dharma name - Liufeng.
Chang Ming was puzzled: "Abbot, why did you suddenly decide to let him convert to Buddhism?" ”
The abbot bowed slightly: "Good, good, good, my Buddha is compassionate." Chang Ming, from now on, Liufeng is your little junior brother, you have to take good care of him. ”
Chang Ming said: "Yes." ”
Then he looked at Liufeng and smiled slightly: "Little junior brother......"
