Chapter 18: The Isolated Place
Originally, the fireworks master was ready to stop them from passing, but after learning that they were the magic envoys sent by Yun Yin, he relented.
Now that no one attends the Night Festival, and because of the black hole, the Nightingale can no longer be made.
The Nightingale, a tradition dedicated to the town of Winter Man, is used to dispel the gloom and pray for auspicious fireworks throughout the year.
Nowadays, the festival is deserted, the nightingale cannot be set off, and the whole town is shrouded in the strange snowflakes that fall from time to time, and the gloom behind the snow.
In the back forest where the festival is held, a thick straw rope made of straw is hung with white T-shaped paper, which hangs at the entrance to the forest.
Long knotted ropes cut off almost the entire festival site, as if there was a dangerous forbidden place opposite.
Because Rinrin's perception of spiritual power has always been very weak, she didn't realize that the forest behind this rope was exuding the same spiritual aura as the burning snow.
Talos instinctively kept Rin behind him. He wanted to go in first, but just as he was about to speak, he saw that Rin had already slipped out from behind him, and was now slightly clumsily trying to climb over the towering rope.
"What are you doing there stupidly, come here." Rin struggled with the knotted rope as she urged Talos behind her.
Talos replied with a gentle 'um' voice, and then hugged Rin Rin from behind him, and lifted it high in the air like a kitten with its teeth dancing and scratching.
Rin wanted to struggle, but she was worried that she would be hit by this stupid white and sweet contract spirit of her own, so she had to obediently let him carry her.
The forest was silent, and a gust of wind blew by his side, obviously accompanied by a downright coldness.
Tomorrow, the night festival is only separated from this forest by a knot, but now when I walk in, I feel like I have crossed two countries.
Talos obediently followed Rin Rin, and although he was walking behind, he was also vigilantly observing the movements around him.
And Rin Rin was the same, although the two of them didn't say anything, they both vaguely felt that there seemed to be some eyes peeping at them in this forest, but they couldn't find any trace of them.
For the knotted rope was meant to be a purifying thing, to keep out the spirits.
Now hanging here, it is clear that the people of this town are well aware of what has happened, and they are trying to isolate the things in the forest from the outside world.
But about these details, the fireworks master did not mention a word.
Rin Rin's mind was piecing together these trivial things, trying to piece together some of the details that they hadn't yet noticed.
It's not that she takes it very seriously, she just doesn't like it.
I don't like the atmosphere of this forest, and the strangeness of being peeped at.
To be honest, there is something she cares too much about and is anxious to do. I'm afraid I just want to find the black hole as soon as possible, then solve the problem, and bring back the indispensable materials for making nightingale fireworks, and then buy a thing.
There are occasional fireflies in the forest, but the path under your feet is getting narrower and narrower. It's hard to even perform some large-scale movements.
"Talos, are we almost where the fireworks master said?" Rin asked as she patted her face, which was tickled by the leaves, and casually folded the branch that she was grabbing beside her.
Time passes in one minute, two minutes passes.
Originally, this wood, where there was only the sound of the wind and the sound of branches rubbing against each other, made it easy to get nervous. Why didn't even Talos move?
Seeing that there was no response for a long time, Rin Rin was a little angry, "Talos, I'm talking to you, you ......"
As she spoke, she turned her head angrily. But it was a 'poof' that made her almost laugh.
I saw Talos behind him standing in place, tilting his head sideways, staring at his collar with an embarrassed expression.
The puppet's well-jointed and clean hands seemed to be dexterous, but they couldn't untie the branch that was firmly hooked on the collar of his clothes at the moment.
Rin didn't hide her mockery of Talos and walked over with a bad look on her face and helped him untie the forks that were hooking his clothes.
Talos reached out and touched it carefully, he was afraid that if he accidentally damaged her clothes again, Rin would have to write down a hard note in her ledger.
Even if he didn't have the slightest concept of money, the moment he kept the account, the aura emanating from Rin Rin's body was terrifying that anyone could clearly perceive.
Suddenly, the wind in the shadows of the trees stopped whistling.
The sudden silence seemed to make people shudder more than the previous noise and discomfort.
Rin crouched down and patted the ground beneath his feet, it was no longer the wet and soft ground it had been. And the leaves beside him also faintly covered with a faint layer of frost.
"Talos, be careful."
But as soon as the words fell, Rin Rin felt that there seemed to be a wind overhead.
When he raised his eyes, he saw that an unknown black shadow was already above his head at this moment, and it suddenly fell.
