Chapter Eighty-Nine: Dumbledore's Attitude

"Whew...... It's finally here...... I hate moving stairs. โ€

Gritting her teeth and pulling her right foot out of the sunken staircase, Elena looked up at the monster stone statue not far away, and breathed a sigh of relief, the changing environment of Hogwarts Castle was too unfriendly to her.

The ugly gargoyle had already jumped to the side, making way to the headmaster's office, blocking Elena's original excuse that she was going to leave without a password and not being able to enter.

Elena pondered it again, and as she comforted the other first-graders, the whole act of taking food from the kitchen did not violate any of the known school rules.

Unless Dumbledore improvised, he didn't have any reason to punish him, unless he shamelessly added new rules on the fly, and as such, there was nothing to fear at all.

Thinking of this, the silver-haired little Lori completely relieved, tidied up her clothes, and generously pushed open the wooden door of Dumbledore's office and walked in.

"Good afternoon, dear Professor Dumbledore, you seem to have something to do with me?"

Elena waved her hand as if nothing was happening to the silver-bearded old man sitting behind her desk in the room.

Dumbledore looked at the small, delicate hourglass on the table, raised his eyebrows, and gave a gentle correction.

"Half an hour ago, to be exact......"

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting!"

The half-breed little girl bowed violently, and admitted her mistake out loud with sincerity, which caught the old wizard a little off guard.

Without giving Dumbledore time to react, the girl quickly straightened up, folded her hands behind her back, and drew a circle on the ground with her right toe in embarrassment, explaining in a whisper.

"But you have to understand that this castle is so charming. โ€

Lost or something doesn't exist, she won't admit that she's a road idiot in this life, she's just not having a strong sense of direction.

โ€œ......โ€

Dumbledore put down the book in his hand, helped his half-moon glasses, raised his head and quietly looked at Elena, who was "adding play" to himself, and did not speak.

This is the simplest and most efficient way of communication that he has gradually summed up these days - otherwise, no matter what she says, she can deflect the topic.

Sure enough, as Dumbledore's silence responded, Elena, who was performing a one-man show, soon fell down listlessly like a deflated balloon.

"Professor Dumbledore, you've been getting bored lately, and that's not how you are. โ€

Elena pursed her lips boredly and sat down obediently on the chair in front of her desk.

"But...... Works, doesn't it. So, is there anything you'd like to explain?"

Dumbledore shrugged his shoulders, a subtle smile flashed behind his glasses, and his eyes focused on Elena's chest, asking calmly.

"Yes, yes!"

Elena nodded hurriedly, cleared her throat, and said confidently, "Professor Dumbledore, I have carefully read the "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Student Code of Conduct" and "Hogwarts Student Violation Punishment Regulations", and there is no mention in any of the rules and regulations that school students are not allowed to enter the school cafeteria...... At the same time, everything we do in the kitchen is in line with the schoolโ€”"

As an excellent student, one of the first things to do when you come to a new school is to familiarize yourself with the school rules and discipline.

Long before she dragged the first-year freshmen to the kitchen to carry out the "robbery", Elena had already thought about the words to deal with Dumbledore in advance, and on the way here, she silently went back and forth in her mind several times.

Elena was at least ninety percent sure that Dumbledore would not find fault with the school rules on the surface.

"Thanks for the reminder, Miss Kaslana. โ€

Dumbledore listened patiently to Elena's words and nodded with a warm smile, "I understand all the rules and regulations of the school, to be precise, many of them are made by me. After all, as time goes on, we always have all sorts of new problems, and maybe I'll add to that later......"

"However, for now, what you and the entire first-year students are doing in the kitchen is not breaking a single school rule. Therefore, I am not going to punish you in any way. โ€

"Really?!"

Elena blinked in disbelief, this was probably the smoothest communication she had since the trouble in all these years, and she hadn't had time to use a large section of the material she had prepared to quote the scriptures.

"Professor Dumbledore, you are the greatest and most enlightened Headmaster at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. โ€

The silver-haired little Lori squinted her eyes happily, and without hesitation in her praise for the old wizard, she tilted her head easily, and asked with some confusion, "So, Professor Dumbledore, why did you call me here today......

"Actually, I want to say something else. โ€

Before the dull hair on Lori's head could jump up triumphantly, Dumbledore's slender fingers crossed and said calmly, "Regarding a certain Hufflepuff freshman, last night did not return home......

"Huh?!, that's because ......"

As if she had been poked in the death hole, the expression on the silver-haired little Lori's face stiffened - it was waiting for her here?!

Dumbledore's expression was unusually serious, and he looked down at the little witch in front of him along the bridge of his crooked nose.

"You may think it's funny, but it's not fun for anyone who worries about you. You don't know, Professor Pomona Sprout has searched almost every corner of the school to find you. It wasn't until midnight that we learned from the house-elves that there was one more new student in the Gryffindor dormitory. โ€

In fact, he began to worry more and more that one day she would make some irreparable mistakeโ€”just like Gellert and Tom had done.

"Oh. โ€

Facing the old man's gaze, Elena opened her mouth, said a few times, silently lowered her head, played with her fingers and whispered, "I know, I will return this Gryffindor uniform on my body." As for whether it is confinement or deducting points, or copying sentences or helping Mr. Filch, I accept your arrangement. โ€

There was a long silence.

Then, to Elena's surprise, Dumbledore suddenly smiled and shook his head.

"Neither. โ€

History has shown that forceful intervention or close discipline has not been so good in the end. Therefore, Dumbledore was ready to make some new attemptsโ€”and it just so happened that there was some kind of wonderful opportunity for Elena.

Dumbledore glanced thoughtfully at Elena's chest again, the golden-red Gryffindor House insignia glistening in the sunlight, and for a moment he was reminded of something from many years ago.

"I have no intention of punishing you, dear Miss Kaslana. โ€

"As you said before, the school should give some extra reward to the little wizards who think outside the box and have extraordinary courage. In fact, it seems to me that you are a natural Gryffindor, and you are fully qualified to keep this Gryffindor uniform, but ......"

Dumbledore smiled slightly, a hint of mischievous flashing in his azure eyes behind the half-moon lenses.
