Volume 1: The Legend of the "Mojia" Short Clothes Society
Moism, a philosophical school in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, was one of the hundred schools of thought at that time, and together with Confucianism represented by Confucius and Taoism represented by Laozi, they constituted the three major philosophical systems in ancient China.
Of course, Mohist was considered a branch of Taoism by some people in ancient times, and was deeply influenced by Taoism.
Han Feizi, a later representative of Legalism, called him and Confucianism 'the manifestation of the world', and Mencius, the later representative of Confucianism, also said that 'the words of the world do not return to Yang, but to Mo', which is what later people often say 'non-Yang is Mo'. This proves the glory of Mohist thought at that time.
However, when Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty 'deposed the hundred schools of thought and respected Confucianism' policy of collusion between officials and schools, Mohist and some other philosophical schools were constantly severely suppressed, and gradually lost the practical basis for its existence, so Mohist thought gradually went extinct.
So what about the Mohist organization?
You must know that Mozi, the founder of the Mo family, was the only philosopher and thinker from a peasant background at that time. Most of the founders of the other philosophical schools were from aristocratic backgrounds at the time, at least as later generations understood.
It is precisely because Mozi's background is relatively humble, and if he wants to truly expound and propagate his own doctrines and ideas, he must make greater efforts and sacrifices than others. Perhaps only in this way will some of his academic ideas be recognized and affirmed by the society at that time.
Therefore, Mozi first conquered and united a large number of people with his academic thoughts, forming a fairly tight group organization, and then expanded the influence and persuasiveness of his academic ideas through the uncompromising implementation and implementation of these people.
The founder of the Mo family is called Mo Zhai, a native of the Song State during the Warring States Period, one says that he is from Luyang, and the other is from Tengguo (now Tengzhou, Shandong).
Mozi's main academic ideas roughly include ten propositions: Jianai (equal love between people), non-aggression (opposition to wars of aggression), Shangxian (breaking the hierarchy and employing people on the basis of merit), Shangtong (unifying the standard and justifying the name), Tianzhi (following the laws of nature and acting according to the rules), Ming Ghost (believing in the existence of ghosts and gods and being vigilant against the monarch), Feile (opposing the enjoyment of sound and sex), Fei Ming (denying the existence of fate and not believing in the arrangement of fate), Jie Ji (advocating economy and opposing extravagance and waste), and Jie Fu (opposing thick burial).
Of course, these are the ideas that the Mohist organization must believe in later.
It is said that the Mohist organization founded by Mozi was an extremely disciplined academic society. The supreme leader of the Mo family is called 'Juzi', and the members of the Mo family are called 'Mozi', which is passed down from generation to generation, and all Mozi must obey Juzi's command and absolutely obey Juzi's guidance.
The discipline of the Mo family is strict, even very harsh, according to legend, 'the law of the Mo, the murderer dies, and the wounder is punished', even if it is Juzi himself or his close family, it must be strictly followed, without the slightest ambiguity. In a certain sense, the Mohists belong to a kind of group with religious beliefs, and their cohesion and execution are very strong.
Most of the Moists came from the lower strata of society, and most of them were laborers with a certain amount of knowledge, not all of them were illiterate lower-class people.
Although they live a very hard life on weekdays, they take the benefits of the world and eliminate the harm of the world as their own responsibility, and they can even truly 'go to the soup and fire and die without spinning'.
To put it in layman's terms, that is to say, the Moists bear hardships and stand hard work, are strict with themselves, and regard the maintenance of justice and morality as an unshirkable responsibility.
In addition, at that time, according to their functions, Moxia scholars were generally divided into two categories: those who engaged in debate were called 'Moxia', and those who engaged in martial arts were called 'Moxia'.
However, in the later period, the Mohists slowly divided into two branches: one focused on the study of epistemology, logic, geometry, geometric optics, statics and other disciplines, and was called 'Mohist Post-Studies' (also known as 'Later Mohists');
It turned out that after the Western Han Dynasty, the Mohist organization in the real sense had indeed basically disappeared, and there was no more news about them. It was not until the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, when fighting against foreign invasions, that their figures reappeared in the public eye.
But this time it was just a flash in the pan, and soon disappeared completely from people's vision. Later, some researchers believed that their short-lived Mojia team at that time should have all died in the battle with the Qing soldiers, so that there was no news of them later.
Later, during the Anti-Japanese War, it is said that some people carried out some secret assassination activities under the guise of Mohist organizations, but there was no real evidence to prove that they were the real Mohist organizations.
Therefore, many people think that this is not credible, but that some anti-Japanese people at that time pretended to be a mysterious Mohist organization, in order to build momentum and expand influence.
But it is said that during the Republic of China, someone unexpectedly found a very strange thread-bound ancient book in an extremely secret deep mountain cave.
After the things recorded in this thread-bound ancient book were completely deciphered and understood, many people were surprised, and even caused quite a shock.
It turns out that this ancient book of threads clearly records the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, the once short-lived Mohist organization, the final ending and subsequent evolution.
At that time, the Mojia team was indeed killed and wounded in a fierce battle against the Qing soldiers, and most of the Moshi were killed one after another, and finally their leader Juzi was under the cover of the death of his Mo, and took the only two remaining disciples to fight desperately out of the encirclement and fled into the mountains.
Since then, the seriously injured Mo family has taken these two disciples and lurked in a hidden cave in the deep mountains. It wasn't until a few years later, when this great man was dying, that one of his disciples should be released and let him go far away to find another way.
And let another disciple who voluntarily stayed, close their last so-called Hidden Spirit Secret Mansion, and accompany him to the burial of this ancient Mojia organization.
From then on, the Mohist organization in the true sense of the word completely disappeared with the death of the last Mohist giant.
Of course, no one really knows what he thinks about why the last Mojia giant at that time did this, why he personally ordered to completely end this ancient Mojia organization, and even his disciple who was exiled couldn't understand it.
It is estimated that only he himself, or the disciple who volunteered to accompany him to the funeral in the end, can truly understand.
But the disciple who was exiled was very unwilling, and many years later, he himself actually re-established a mysterious association.
It's just that because the last Mo family giant once made him make a heavy oath, he will no longer be allowed to do anything in the name of the Mo family in the name of the Mo family, and he can no longer even admit that he is the descendant of the Mo family organization.
Therefore, as a last resort, he had to start a new business and create another group organization.
It's just that he has been deeply influenced by Mohist thought since he was a child, and although he is unconventional and starts anew, he still can't get rid of the original things that have long been ingrained in him.
From the name of his group, the Short Clothes Society, it can be seen that he is still secretly adhering to some of the ideas of the Mo family.
Not only that, but even the purpose of this short clothing society is also an extension of some of the ideas in the Mohist thought of the past, they clearly proposed: "Respect the will of heaven, promote the benefit and eliminate the harm; Enlighten ghosts and gods, promote good and punish evil. ”
And it is especially obvious that all their members must have a tattoo on the upper end of their left arm, wearing a linen shirt and a short coat of Mozi's upper body. This is also an extremely special symbol of theirs, and perhaps this is also their inheritance and remembrance in another sense.
Of course, as for the upper body portrait of this Mozi, whether there is really an ancient version of the portrait, or whether they made it up by their own imagination, it is not known.
It's just that the leader of this short-clothed society no longer dares to call himself Juzi, but changes his name to the Netherworld Ghost King, and his subordinates are called ghost pawns. From these titles, it can be seen that this short clothes society has been different from the traditional Mohist organization to a certain extent, and they have become the kind of secret society on the rivers and lakes.
And from these simple names of theirs, it can also be seen that although this outgoing disciple, although he still has not completely departed from the basic theory of the Mo family, he is already in a certain sense. From a complete philosophical system at the beginning, it has gradually become an explanation of a simple proposition.
At this time, the nature of this short-coat society was not fundamentally different from those of the folk secret societies that appeared at a particular time. It's just that they are still more or less influenced by the early Mohist organization.
The most important thing is that it is said that this short clothing society is really not simple, their organization is very tight, and it is not a small local group, but an underground association organization with an unprecedentedly large structure.
It is said that in their heyday, their power was almost equal to that of Hongmen, and they had their own helm halls all over the country.
It's just that this short clothes society is not only more secretive than the Hongmen organization at that time, but their actual organizational composition is also completely different, and even their own people within them don't know their organizational composition at all.
According to the clear records in that ancient book, the organization of this short-coat society was roughly similar to other gangs at that time, and it was composed of the general rudder and the local sub-rudder, but their specific functions were completely different.
Normally, most of the other gangs are in the traditional pyramid model, and the general and specific affairs are handled by the rudders in various places according to the meaning of the general rudder, and then summarized and reported.
The general rudder is only in charge of the overall coordination and arrangement, unless it is in some particularly important matters will be personally inquired, usually will never interfere too much in the specific matters of the following rudders.
However, this is not the case with the short clothes club, all their specific matters, no matter how big or small, are all handled by the chief helmsman himself.
The following rudders are only responsible for weekday inspections and combing and reporting, and do not have the slightest right to dispose of them, which is also a major feature of their short clothes club.
Their main rudder consists of an inner hall and an outer hall.
The inner hall, also known as the Heavenly Punishment Hall, is similar to the torture hall of other gangs, and is mainly responsible for the internal discipline of the entire community.
It's just that their Heavenly Punishment Hall has greater power, in addition to being responsible for the life, death and death within the entire community, they are also in charge of more important money and internal security, and they are the most elite core force of the entire community. They are directly responsible to the supreme leader, the Nether Demon King, and their power is above that of the other halls.
The outer three halls are the Heavenly Killing Hall, the Heavenly Machine Hall, and the Heavenly Poison Hall.
The Heavenly Killing Hall is mainly responsible for planning and executing various specific actions, similar to the actual execution department now.
Tianjitang is mainly responsible for summarizing and processing, and all kinds of information reported by the rudder in various places are similar to the current intelligence and information department.
The Heavenly Poison Hall is mainly responsible for the development and manufacture of various special weapons and secret medicines, similar to the current special research and development department.
It is said that all the members of their helm are uniformly dressed in black cloth, and are called black-clothed ghost pawns, also known as black-clothed dead soldiers.
In addition, the hall master of the Heavenly Punishment Hall is also called the sect master, and his power is second only to the Netherworld Ghost King, and sometimes it is also led by the Netherworld Ghost King; The hall master of the Heavenly Killing Hall is called the Holy Maiden, and her status is slightly lower than that of the sect master; The hall masters of the Heavenly Machine Hall and the Heavenly Poison Hall are called the left and right protectors, and they are equal to each other, and their status is slightly lower than that of the Holy Maiden.
Perhaps at the beginning of the establishment of their Short Clothes Society, there was indeed a woman who served as the hall master of the Heavenly Killing Hall, and she was called a saint at that time, so it continued from this later. In other words, although the later Heavenly Killing Hall Master was also called a saint as usual, it didn't necessarily have to be a woman.
The rudder of the short clothes club is mainly responsible for patrolling and sorting out on weekdays, and accurately reporting all kinds of information from all over the country to Tianjitang in the first time.
As for their rudder division, it is strictly divided according to geography.
Specifically, they referred to the administrative system of the Ming Dynasty's two capitals and thirteen divisions, and divided the country into fifteen rudders, each of which had an altar master, who was responsible for the relevant matters of the region.
The personnel under the helmsman of the Short Clothes Society generally wear ordinary gray cloth clothes, and are called gray-clothed ghost pawns, also known as gray-clothed feet.
The two capitals and thirteen divisions were the administrative system of the Ming Dynasty, which was the provincial-level administrative body and division of the directly administered regions at that time.
After the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, in order to strengthen the centralization of power, the provinces of the Yuan Dynasty were changed to the political envoys of the Cheng Xuan Dynasty, and the political envoys were only in charge of civil affairs.
Although the duties of the Ming political envoy were different from those of the provinces of the Yuan Dynasty, there was no essential difference in the division of administrative regions, so it was customary to call the political envoys a province.
At that time, in addition to Beijing and Nanjing, there were Shandong, Shanxi, Henan, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Huguang, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou thirteen political envoys, Beijing is also known as North Zhili, Nanjing is also known as South Zhili, this is the Ming Dynasty so-called two Beijing (Zhili) thirteen divisions, commonly known as fifteen provinces, is the administrative division of the Ming Dynasty directly under the central government.
It is said that although the Short Clothes Society has set up its own rudder in each province, the location of their main rudder is very mysterious, and it can even be said that it is erratic and unsettled, and there is no fixed location at all.
The affairs related to the rudder of the various branches of the Short Clothes Society are specially collected and conveyed by the messengers and bearers of the Tianji Hall. The rudder divisions are not directly reported, or even have direct contact with the main rudder at all.
However, their general rudder moves randomly, and when they arrive, they temporarily use the local sub-rudder as the general rudder to deal with various important matters temporarily.
As for all the horses in the inner hall and the outer three halls of the main rudder, they also move with the main rudder at any time.
Therefore, for a long time, no one knows the specific location of their general rudder, today it may still be in the coastal area of Liaodong, and tomorrow it may be pulled out to the deep mountains of Guizhou, which is also a mysterious place of their short clothes club. It is precisely because of this that they were once known as the world's first secret organization at that time.
According to the introduction in that ancient book, at least before the early years of the Republic of China, their short clothes society was more like a secret society with strong religious overtones.
They just take the Mohists' 'Heavenly Will' and 'Ming Ghosts' as the supreme law, and act completely according to their own standards, and their methods of acting are relatively extreme, often resorting to assassination and kidnapping, in order to maximize their so-called 'Respect for Heavenly Will' and 'Ming Ghosts and Gods'.
They must assassinate those who they consider to be the most traitorous and evil to take their lives, and those who are rich and unkind must kidnap them for their ill-gotten gains. Moreover, the targets of their supervision are very extensive, from high-ranking officials and nobles to ordinary people.
However, in the early years of the Republic of China, according to other sources of information, their short clothing society began to transform step by step into an anarchist secret organization.
Some people even boldly speculate that the generation of assassins in the early years of the Republic of China, Wang Yaqiao, is very likely to be a member of their short clothes club, because their behavioral standards and styles are extremely similar.
It is said that most of the members of the Short Clothes Society are hidden among the lowest level of the people in various places on weekdays, and they are only temporarily awakened and activated when there is a task.
As for how their members of the organization are identified, there is only one clue to the peculiar invisible tattoo pattern. As for the rest of the ordinary gray clothes, they are no longer tattooed with these strange patterns. ”
Moreover, these tattoo patterns of theirs are generally very cleverly hidden, and they are extremely subtle.
It is said that the tattoo pattern is only visible after drinking a special medicinal liquor. In normal times, it is almost impossible to see at all, it is just a very faint trace, and if it is not deliberately carefully identified, ordinary people will not be able to identify it at all.
As a result, these black-clothed dead men lurking behind are unrecognizable on weekdays. As for the gray-clad footmen who patrol the places, they are originally all sorts of small traders and peddlers who walk the streets and alleys, and it is even more difficult to recognize......
