Volume 1: Yuan Pu Anthology Quicksand Tomb
Quicksand tombs are actually ancient tombs that use quicksand as the main anti-theft facility.
After the coffin burial chamber was closed, in order to protect the burial chamber from being excavated by later generations, the builders specially filled the tomb passage and the perimeter of the tomb with a large amount of fine sand.
The amount of fine sand filled varies according to the actual situation of the ancient tomb, ranging from a few tons, to tens of tons, hundreds or thousands of tons, and so on.
Under normal circumstances, it is mainly at the top of the tomb and in the four directions of the front and back, left and right, to carry out closed filling, and the entire filling layer must naturally form a relatively complete independent whole.
If a tomb robber wants to enter the burial chamber, he must first deal with the fine sand that fills in, or can only dig out a little bit of sand.
But this filled fine sand is soft, almost like water, and has a strong fluidity.
In other words, as long as you take out a little bit, the sand from other places around it will immediately flow over to replenish it, and so on, and the cycle is inexhaustible, and unless you can really clean all the filling sand, you will never be able to enter the burial chamber.
And when the tomb robbers encountered this situation, they saw that the quicksand was not endless, and because of the situation, they had to immediately stop digging and find another place.
Because you must know that this fine sand is very dangerous, it can easily swallow those tomb robbers who forcibly break in, suffocating them to death inside, and it is difficult for outsiders to rescue them in time.
And the sand they used was not ordinary river sand, but specially processed sea sand, or the very fine quicksand of the upper desert. Because only these specially processed sand can truly ensure the strong fluidity like water, and can instantly flow and replenish to any place that is pierced.
In addition, this kind of quicksand tomb is often not only used for this kind of anti-theft measures, but also usually accompanied by other subtle hidden weapon mechanisms, and the cost is really not ordinarily high. Therefore, this kind of quicksand tomb is extremely rare, and it is estimated that there are only dozens of them found in the country now.
So is it impossible to crack a quicksand tomb like this?
Actually, this is not the case, because any subtle news agency has its own flaws, or loopholes. As long as you can find their location, you can naturally crack them.
For example, if this kind of quicksand tomb were to be excavated from above, from all directions, from the front, back, back, and left, it would be almost impossible to succeed.
However, if you use the method of lowering the cylinder in sections, you can slowly penetrate the quicksand layer to reach the edge of the burial chamber. Because the special cylinder that goes down can effectively block the quicksand like water, and when it reaches the edge of the tomb, as long as you are careful, you can directly penetrate the tomb wall and enter the tomb.
It's just that this method is not only time-consuming and laborious, but also still has considerable risks, because once the top tube is not handled well, as long as those quicksand are poured in, then the matter is big, and if it is not done well, the tomb robbers will still suffocate alive in the tomb.
As a result, someone came up with a solution called "Harrier Turning Over".
In fact, the harrier turning over is just a name on the Guanzhong Road back then, and some people also call it "Haidilao Moon", of course, I also think this name should be more accurate.
You know, this kind of quicksand tomb only takes into account the top of the tomb, and the four directions of the front, back, left and right, but they just ignore the bottom of the tomb.
Of course, most of the ancient tombs in our country, whether it is the early Western Zhou pit pit tombs and mound tombs, or the cliff tombs that prevailed in the Qin and Han dynasties, and the most common brick structure coupon top tombs later, they all have a common feature, that is, they often ignore the bottom of the ancient tombs.
In other words, the bottom of these tombs is precisely the weakest point of defense, and this point was later discovered by those clever tomb robbers.
Perhaps the ancients at that time thought that no one would think of digging from the ground, because most ancient tombs are buried deep underground, and if you want to dig a hole from the bottom of it, I'm afraid it will be a bit too difficult.
However, it is precisely because of this that those skilled tomb robbers have done the opposite, finding another way to take this method of fishing for the moon from the bottom of the sea.
For example, the quicksand tomb we are talking about just now, as long as the tomb robbers have explored the specific location and general direction of the ancient tomb, they can avoid the quicksand layer around them from a distance and dig it down from a distance.
After digging roughly parallel to the burial chamber, and then digging a few meters deeper to be on the safe side, then the hole began to be drilled horizontally towards the specific location of the burial chamber.
After digging all the way to the bottom of the tomb, after the corresponding support is fixed, another vertical hole is dug up, so that you can easily enter the interior of the tomb.
Perhaps, at this time, someone said, how could they dig to the bottom of the tomb so accurately, if they accidentally dug into the quicksand layer, wouldn't they have won the jackpot, and it is estimated that they will be buried alive at once.
Of course, this possibility is not impossible, and if you do, it is not as scary as you think.
Because when they dig the vertical hole upwards at the end, they will not only be extremely careful, tentatively digging little by little, but they will also take corresponding protective measures in advance.
For example, at the corner of the cemetery, they would dig a larger corner or a large deep hole beforehand, and sometimes prepare a strong wooden door between it and the horizontal robbery hole.
If there is an accident on it, the quicksand that comes down will temporarily flow into the deep hole, and will be temporarily blocked by the wooden door. In this way, they will have enough time to evacuate quickly, and naturally they will not suffer too much danger.
You must know that since other tomb robbers eat this bowl of rice, there are naturally people who have their own things.
As the saying goes, cats have cats, mice and rats, which are all the experiences of their old ancestors who have exchanged their lives and blood for thousands of years.
Even some high-level tomb robbers in other families know some knowledge of Feng Shui, which is not a joke.
You must know that the site selection and construction of these ancient tombs were also guided by these knowledge, and people naturally have traces to follow.
In addition, people will also conduct careful exploration and calculation in advance, and every step is absolutely unambiguous.
