Chapter 541: Caputuring Testimonials and the "Little Filter" Theory

Phew, the story of the ninth volume is finally over, and whenever I finish writing a volume of stories, I always have a heartfelt sense of relief.

The stories of the other branches of humanity are written in a slightly more simplistic way, and will not be described in detail. As long as you know the general trend, you can basically do it!

Some people say that exposing virtual world technology is too dangerous, but it is not, because Gliese 581 humans also have such technology. Otherwise, in the face of immortal technology, how could the Kunlun Mountain fleet leave safely? It's just that the people of Captan don't have it.

This book is written to 1.2 million words, and it is not just my story alone, but also a common story, and if it is written badly, everyone will feel unhappy, and I will blame myself.

Fortunately, I am personally quite satisfied with the plot of the entire trading market. I wrote about some ordinary interstellar civilizations, but also about some more advanced civilizations, the Gaia faction, the amoeba faction, the Crimson Industrial Alliance, etc., filled some holes, and dug some holes......

Then I managed to open a new map and go to another place with the Toths.

The most difficult part of the network is opening a new map. Only by opening a new map can there be new content, but there is no benefit to opening a map indiscriminately except for being criticized by readers, and it should be no problem to open a new map logically!

So...... Will the new humans come back in the future?

Of course I won't be back, how can I write when I come back! The new human race can help the brothers of the same origin a little, but it is impossible to give up the great future for the brothers who have not seen each other for thousands of years, right?

Some say that the main theme of the book is a little less passionate than the hopelessness and heaviness of the dark forest system.

This is also a helpless thing, the core theory of this book is the "mediocrity principle" and the "small filter theory", which itself is a model of boiling frogs in warm water, and civilizations are not like "The Three-Body Problem" to fight life and death, but will only be slowly cleared out by time, and naturally there can be no high sense of persecution.

Any life-and-death war seems to be full of passion, but war requires motivation, and the resources set in this book are far greater than the needs of civilization, so naturally there is no motivation for war. This is dictated by the core tone.

Once you mess around, the whole book will fall apart.

Let's talk about the so-called "small filter theory", which has been written a lot in the previous content, but I haven't focused on it, so I will write about it in detail here.

In my first book, Beneath Deep Space, I focused on the Great Filter Theory.

It believes that after civilization develops to a certain extent, it will face a big threshold, which is only 1 in 10 million, or even 1 in 100 million, the probability of passing. So the vast majority of civilizations have stagnated before they have developed into interstellar civilizations.

The small filter theory is one of the variants, which believes that in the process of civilization development, there may not be such a large threshold with a very low pass rate, but there are invisible small thresholds.

The odds of passing these small thresholds are not as terrifying as the big ones, for example, the probability of passing is 1 in 2 and 1 in 3, which is much higher than 1 in 100 million.

However, these small thresholds are extremely numerous, and these probabilities are multiplied by multiplication, which is also a very, very small number.

This is a way to boil frogs in warm water, and you won't feel so shocked when you write it in. But I think that in reality, a small filter may be a little more likely than a large filter. People always have no self-knowledge, thinking that with a 1 in 2 chance, they can pass with a little effort, but in fact it is not, if you can pass one, can you still pass the second? As long as there is a "small filter" that cannot be passed, there is no way for humanity to enter the interstellar age.

Just like the tests of the civil service exam, in the end, it is only a few people who come to the end.

So, how many "little filters" are there in this book, or in reality?

The first is natural conditions such as oxygen, which in this case refers to the concentration of oxygen that can support the combustion of organic matter. If a planet does not even have the phenomenon of combustion, cannot smelt metals, or lacks some rare metals, it will most likely lose the possibility of climbing technology.

The second is the social system, some social systems will imprison people's minds and close people's minds, so that the whole society will be reincarnated in the Middle Ages for a long time and fall into a paradigm trap.

The third is the religious factor, and mankind has not yet been freed from religious constraints. This is a war of ideas between the values of the 21st century and the values of the 7th century, and it is impossible to predict who will win and who will lose for the time being. However, judging from the current world situation, there is a tendency for ignorance to gradually triumph over civilization.

Fourth, the economic system, capitalism is short-sighted, excessive profit-seeking and short-sighted capital will gradually distort people's values and morality. Since the end of the US-Soviet hegemony, mankind has never landed on the moon again.

Fifth, there is the issue of global unification, if you want to colonize space, even if it is just the moon, it is very difficult for a single country, at least half of the world's forces, or one-third of the forces, to reduce internal contradictions.

Globally, however, over the past 100 years, there has been a marked increase in the number of countries in the world, not a decrease in the number of countries. In the not-too-distant future, there is a tendency to increase, not to decrease.

The sixth is the possibility of the emergence of key technologies such as controlled nuclear fusion and recyclable rockets, which can greatly reduce the cost of aeronautical engineering.

The window period for controlled nuclear fusion is about twenty or thirty years. At present, photovoltaic solar energy has been able to achieve grid parity, and in the next two or three decades, with the advancement of technology, it will become more and more competitive. In 2050, Xia Guo will be severely aging, and if the progress bar of controllable nuclear fusion has not reached more than 50%, it is estimated that there is no spare money to bother with this thing. (The future deduction is complicated, so I won't say much about it here.) )

The seventh is whether the hibernation technology is really feasible, the local tyrants fifty years ago were still frozen there, and it is estimated that there is no possibility of thawing.

So will the real hibernation technique emerge fifty years later?

If there were no human hibernation technology, then stellar navigation would be nonsense, Proxima Centauri would not be possible, and humans would at most be able to orbit within the solar system. Of course, it would be nice to be able to spin around the solar system.

The eighth is corruption, if even the circle of scientific research is corrupt, what is the driving force for a civilization to move forward? However, corruption is the norm and inevitable.

The ninth is the aging of the high-quality population, all of which are in an aging crisis, on the contrary, there is a population explosion in South Asia and other regions, and there may be a food crisis within a decade. When the time comes, the risks that occur are unpredictable.

And so on and so forth...... It also includes a large number of issues that are not listed.

This is the small filter theory, how to solve these complex problems, no one can pack a ticket, knowing that it exists, but there is no power.

It is possible that human beings can solve it, or it may never be solved.

Humans may have gotten lucky enough to get past the first few small filters, but what about the ones that come later?

Multiplying all the probabilities will be a number with a slim chance. The only thing we ordinary people can do is to live our own days, love the motherland, and cultivate our ability to distinguish between right and wrong.

Perhaps, most civilizations in the universe are facing problems of one kind or another.

Of course, it is an idealized model, and the whole society is not as intricate as reality, otherwise there is no way to continue to write down.

The book is already in the middle of writing, and there are many clues, and because I have written a similar book, my inspiration has dried up, and I have struggled to write.

Sometimes it's just sitting in front of the computer.

The subscription of this book has not met the expected results, and there has been no recommendation for more than two months, so I still hope you can support it more, behind a genuine reader, there may be a hundred pirated readers.

The more people who support it, the more motivation there is.

Only at the starting point of the subscription share is 50%, China Literature other channels are 25%, as for the rest of the channels, such as Apple subscription, Apple first takes 30%, and the rest of the authors are rated with the website.

What Baidu reading, chasing book artifact, is not a dime. Don't be stupid enough to charge money and subscribe to these small websites, give people money for nothing, and think that you support the author, but in fact they don't.

What a great exploitation by the capitalists!

Okay, let's get down to business, I'm done with one volume, and I'm going to take a day off tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to all in advance!

Finally, the book circle is about to be upgraded, please hit the card, that is, there is a red button on the book circle to punch in, and then click a few likes, and you can upgrade immediately!
