Chapter XXVII
After Artevans told Sheola the names of herself and Aruba, Sheora turned her attention away from Atella and looked Rusa up and down with interest.
The gaze that seemed to see through everything made Rusha feel very uncomfortable.
"Nightmares with a magic core and a fixed body are rare." Sheola was smiling, but there was not the slightest hint of banter on her face. Instead, Rusa could see respect in Sheola's eyes.
Rusha was a little stunned for a moment, this was the first time since she had consciousness that the other party knew that she was not a complete nightmare, and she was not ridiculed.
"You've lost some of what you're supposed to have, but at the same time, you've gained more of your kind that you can't." Sheola lowered her voice and spoke silently. She seemed to be talking to Rusa, and it was like she was talking to herself.
"Both, the invasion of the necromancy has just been dealt with, and there are still a lot of things to come, so I'll be out of company first. As for the heroic deeds of the two who saved the city of Dimor, I will report it to His Majesty the Demon King."
With that, Sheola bowed slightly to Artevans and Rusa, and turned to leave.
"Lord Artevans...... "After Theola left, Rusha looked at Artevans beside her.
"Whether it's intelligence, or the way of doing things, or etiquette, it's impeccable, but it makes me think that she's not just a strategist next to a demon king."
Artevans looked in the direction of Sheola's departure, as if thoughtful.
"Go back to the city......" After a long time, Artevans said to Rusa.
————————————
Warlocks in the Demon Castle were much more rapid than soldiers, and when Atvance and Evausa returned to the city, the wounded who had survived the necromantic attack were healed, and the destroyed buildings were magically restored to their original state.
However, the dead demons could no longer come back to life, and the sad weeping of the family members reached the ears of Artevans from time to time.
"In the Necromantic Invasion...... The moment it is stopped, it is possible...... Avoid it.'" Rusha followed behind Artevans, looking at the demon people who were holding the corpse of the deceased and crying bitterly, and couldn't help but sigh with emotion.
"Have you developed compassion, even if it is possible that these people have laughed at or discriminated against you?" Artevans didn't seem to be disturbed by his surroundings in the slightest, and walked in the direction of the Traveler's Cave. When he returned to the city, he only glanced at the people who were screaming.
"No, it's just...... It's just emotion, so that you ...... Displeased?' Sensing that Artevans' tone was a little cold, Rusha hurriedly spoke.
"You're too worried, I'm just curious why you feel the way you feel." Atvansa paused, turned his head, and glanced at Rusa's expression behind her.
"I'm not upset by your heartfelt words, and it's not a bad thing to have your own thoughts. I want someone who can really help me, not just a puppet.'"
Hearing Artevans say this, Rusa's slightly hanging heart also relaxed.
"There's just discrimination here...... The people who have lived me, there is no ...... The people who approve of me, and don't think I'm ...... Valuable people, and I ...... No relatives, no friends. So, I can't understand it...... How they feel at this time. My emotion is nothing more than ...... I'm just disappointed with the entire demon race.'"
As a nightmare, Rusha is born lonely, so even if she sees this situation, she won't feel anything.
Facing the vulnerability of foreign attacks, but coldly looking at her compatriots, is Ai Rusha's biggest emotion.
"Where's Lord Artevans?" When Rusha sighed, the coldness in Atvance's tone was heartfelt, but not displeased, which aroused Rusa's curiosity.
"Are you asking me how I feel?" One of the reasons why I didn't strike immediately was because I wanted to see if there were anyone who could stand up and resist the enemy. But unfortunately, they did nothing to change the status quo except to desperately accept what they thought was their fate.'
As he passed by several corpses, Artevans glanced at the demon child who was lying on the corpse and crying bitterly with indifferent eyes. A sudden attack caused him to lose all his loved ones.
The dearest relatives of this demon child died to protect him, and the child left behind is only a few years old, and he will face the life of losing his relatives in the future.
But Artevans just looked at it coldly, without stopping, and walked straight by.
"In the face of a deceased loved one, just crying here is just a manifestation of cowardice. The truly weak do not deserve mercy, and the greatest value they may have is nothing more than being a pawn on the board when they need it, nothing more.'"
There was no emotion in Atvance's tone, and there was no trace of sympathy in his eyes. In other words, there is no sympathy in the world of Atvance, because the truly strong do not need sympathy, and the truly weak do not deserve sympathy.
"They are only weaklings in my eyes, so why should I be filled with unnecessary feelings. I will only value those who I recognize.'" Artevans glanced at Rusa again, then quickened his pace, "Let's go back to the Traveler's Cave first, and I'll tell you about my plans for the future."
Looking at Artevans' back, Rusha couldn't help but say in an extremely slight voice, "I take it back...... What I said just now, here, recognize me, and also agree with ...... I'm worth, at least, one.'"
This sentence did not let Artevans hear.
————————————
In the center of the city of Dimor, the castle where the king of the demons lived. Of course, the army of the demon clan and the high-level of the demon clan are here.
The rooms of the castle are countless. And in the corner of the castle, in a study, there is a secret room that even the demon king does not know.
Theora stood on the side of the chamber, silently looking at the map of the Hellworld taped to the wall. It wasn't until the door to the chamber was opened that she looked in the direction of the door.
"It's been a long time, Devoga, General Eve, what's going on on the necromantic side?" Looking at Dvoga and Iver as they walked in, Sheola smiled politely.
"I'm sorry to keep you waiting, but when Ivor got back to the city, he saw what he was going to do after the attack and went up to help without saying a word, delaying some time. As for the Necromantic King, we have put their conditions on hold for the time being, citing that they are too harsh, and everything is as you expected."
Devoga apologized to Sheola first, and then breathed a sigh of relief as if a boulder in his heart had landed.
"Hmph, this guy Dvoga, he insisted on letting me sit next to him, knowing that I wasn't good at these strange negotiations with them." When Ivor entered the chamber, he found a random chair to sit on.
The chair squeaked and crumbled, but eventually withstood Ive's weight.
"You can bring some deterrence by sitting there, and it will make it easier for me to negotiate. I apologize for making you feel uncomfortable.'" Dvoga looked at Ive's expression and smiled awkwardly.
"I said, why don't we just fight them, I don't see that there are many strong people on the necromantic side, besides, Dvoga, with your strength, can't you fight a hundred? Now that I am so aggrieved, the more I think about it, the more angry I become."
Iver said, his huge palm patting the arm of the chair with a loud noise.
"General, please calm down. The reason why I have been following His Majesty the Demon King's words to retreat and not fight is not because our strength is really insufficient, but because the power we can use is too limited. Moreover, there may be enemies within the Necronomicon who are capable of restraining the two."
Theora stepped forward and patted Eve's shoulder. Ive's hot, scattered body collided with Sheola's cold hand, and some mist floated up.
"His Majesty the Demon King has a very tough attitude, and if we can fight without fighting, if we provoke a battle without permission, it is very likely that we will be charged with rebellion, and in this case, we will suffer from the enemy."
"Most of the demons who are dissatisfied with His Majesty's claims are ordinary civilians now, but their strength is not enough to support us, what we need is the support of more clansmen in the castle." Theola patiently analyzes the pros and cons with Ive.
"Sheola, do you have any plans?" Devoga looked at Sheola's confident expression and felt as if she was planning something.
"Yes, but I'm sorry, I can't tell you just yet." Theola bowed slightly to Dvoga and Iver in apology.
"Well, you guys always like to sell off, anyway, all Dvoga and I have to do now is to get as many soldiers as possible to support us." Iver looked at Theola with impatience on her face.
"If you can, please don't use too strong a force." Sheola looked at Ivor and smiled.
Ivor just shook his head helplessly, stood up abruptly, stretched, said goodbye, and left the chamber. Dvoga also politely said goodbye to Theola and left with Ive.
After the two left, Sheola took out a crystal ball out of nowhere and injected it with magic. The crystal ball shows Atvance and Rusa in the Traveler's Cave, where they are already resting.
Sheola watched the crystal ball unfold, and finally set her eyes on the pendant that was slightly visible around Artevis' neck. Looking at the skull pendant, Sheola smiled meaningfully.
"It seems that what you want to do is not a trivial matter." The door to the chamber opened slightly, and a figure stood behind it, speaking to Theola.
"So, what do you think I want to do?" Sheola was not surprised by the other's sudden appearance.
"Gather more power that you think you can use to get rid of all the undead in the Hell, of course, you may have a deeper consideration now."
"Yes, dealing with the Necrons is indeed a top priority right now, but I think there's one thing that's more important." A red glint flashed in Sheola's eyes.
"Do you really want to do this, I'm afraid even Dvoga and Iver don't know about it." The voice behind the door raised its volume slightly, but it was still very calm.
"I never plan something I'm not sure of, but now is not the time. As for the Dvogars and General Ivor, they will know when I am almost as far as I go."
After Sheola said this, after a few seconds, the door to the secret room closed, and the person who had just spoken to Sheola seemed to have left.
Theola turned her attention back to the crystal ball, smiling at the sleeping Atelvans.
"That's right, now, it's not the time......
