Section 6 - The Avengers (1)
More than 60 years ago, this village was originally not called "Tianmutian", but "Yinwu Village", as for why it was given such a strange name, now the people in the village do not know, maybe some of the ancestors learned the art of Qimen Dunjia.
The people of the village originally migrated from Shanxi and have been in Pingjiang for about 400 years. The people of Yinwu Village were originally surnamed Li, but after so many years of development, some other surnames have also been incorporated into the village, which has also promoted the development of the village and the prosperity of the population.
The people in the village have been closed to the village for a long time, and the thinking of the people in the village has gradually failed to keep up with the development of the times, they don't know that the outside world has replaced manual labor, and they don't know that gunpowder can also be used to make weapons. One day in mid-June 1944, a dozen strangers suddenly broke into a quiet village, and as soon as they entered the village, they began to burn and loot.
Many of the village's men took refuge in the caves to protect the women and children of the village, and almost all the young men died. But the children of the village also escaped. But this only meant that they had successfully hid in the mountains, and the remaining strangers seemed to refuse to let go of the villagers, and they gathered in a group to continue their search into the mountains.
The old and young women and children hiding in the cave could no longer bear it any longer, and they planned to die with them. They set up traps in caves, and robbed and killed these strange outsiders one after another. By the time of the sixth stranger, almost all the men in the village were dead, except for a few women and children, who had arranged the children and laid the last trap.
The stranger held a long black wooden stick and walked through the dimly lit cave. Several sharpened bamboo arrows flew towards the stranger, and the sound of bamboo arrows piercing through the flesh sounded in the narrow cave, and by the light shining from the entrance of the cave, only the people in the village could clearly see the stranger's fresh spurt out more than a meter high, and the blood column sprayed on the inner wall of the cave and the ground like a spring, and the muddy yellow earth was instantly dyed red.
The women had never seen the light of the day before the death of a person, and everyone was stunned by the sight before them, and the women who were hiding in the dark hurriedly covered the eyes of the children to prevent them from seeing this bloody scene, and many of the women turned their heads sideways. Everyone hiding in the depths of the cave did not dare to make a sound, for fear that the strangers under the mountain would find the cave, and then all of them would have no way to escape.
"@#$%^&**&^%#", although the stranger's blood lying on the ground continued to spray, he used his last strength to shout out an unintelligible word. The unfamiliar language drifted throughout the cave, and the cave didn't seem to be very deep, and the voice soon came back, out of the cave, and lingered throughout the valley, never lingering, hovering in people's hearts.
Everyone hid in the cave for two days and two nights, and they had long forgotten the distinction between day and night, and the depths of the cave were only endless darkness and fear born from the bottom of their hearts. Mo Ming's fear is catalyzed by the darkness, but in this cold cave, the hungry people, driven by the most primitive survival instincts, finally decide to go out and have a look, and find some food to come back to satisfy their hunger, otherwise they will surely die of lack of water and hunger.
After discussion, it was agreed that the oldest women would go together to look for food outside the cave, and if they did not return after dark outside the cave, it would mean that they were no longer there. The rest of the people had to take everyone to hide in the cave and continue to stay, and if they were really hungry, they had to go out together to look for food, and the other person would go over the mountain to the neighboring village to ask for help.
After the discussion, the three older women straightened their clothes, took the bamboo arrows from the dead stranger, and walked out of the cave with their longbows. Outside the cave, thunder roared, and the rain was about to fall, so the three of them walked down the mountain.
When I returned to the village, there were corpses all over the village, and the face that was once familiar was now lying quietly on the ground. Their fathers, husbands, and siblings were all scattered on the blood-stained land. The three of them knelt beside the corpse, tears flowed uncontrollably, but they did not dare to cry out loud, they were afraid that their cries would summon the group of murderous demons back, then all the sacrifices made by the men in their village would be useless, and the only people left in their village would be killed by the group of demons dressed in yellow.
The three women cried for an unknown amount of time, and they couldn't even feel the pain of the raindrops falling on their bodies. In the rain, I couldn't see whether their faces were rain or tears, maybe the tears in their bodies had already flowed, and what was falling was some tasteless rain.
The rain fell to the ground, washing out the blood stained in the dirt, and soon the rain was also dyed red, slowly converging into a red stream, passing by the corpse and flowing into the distance.
The three of them knelt beside the corpse for an unknown amount of time, and finally remembered the others trapped in the cave, so they had to get up and patrol the village. They had to make sure that the demons were no longer in the village before they could call everyone out, and if they called everyone out and the murderous demons never left the village, they would end up with the same outcome as the dead people.
The village was not very large, and they worked hard to find the last room, and made sure that the murderous demons were no longer in the village, so they found some stored food on the hanging beams of each house, and prepared to bring it back to the cave to feed everyone.
After eating the food, the people hiding in the cave also improved their spirits a little, but there was bad news, and the three of them did not fail to tell everyone, which was also to make everyone mentally prepared first. Eventually, the older woman told the news of her death, and everyone wept bitterly, and the sound of mourning fell back into the valley and could not be dispersed for a long time. The baby, who was still in swaddling clothes, slept quietly with a satisfied smile after eating the milk.
In this season of sorrow, everyone works together to bury those "sorrows" together. Chinese pay attention to the soil for peace, if the death is not properly buried, relatives will think that the deceased will die. A funeral without a dojo may not be a funeral at all, and the surviving women and children just kneel in front of those small "dirt bags" and pay tribute to those who died to protect them with their eyes.
The bodies of the strangers were still "on display" in the village, and after discussion, it was decided to bury them all in the cave where they were hiding. Although there is a great hatred between them, although they do not know each other, no matter who they are, they want to be buried when they die, even though this is not their hometown. Another reason why everyone decided to bury them was that they were afraid that his strangers would have some evil skills, and if they turned into evil ghosts because they were not buried, and came back to the people of the village to continue to take revenge, they would eventually be unable to escape the knot.
Dry firewood was piled up all over the cave, so much so that it could not be put down and piled up at the mouth of the cave. The woman in the lead, with a white strip of cloth on her head and a torch in her hand, bowed her head and recited a verse that I don't know where I learned it, but everyone would follow along at the funeral anyway. After the scripture was recited, the leading woman threw the torch into the cave, and the fire spread rapidly.
There was no other way out of the cave, and the huge heat swirled around the small cave and returned to the cave mountain. In the midst of the darkness, everyone seemed to hear someone talking in their ears, and the voice slowly became louder, and the more they listened, the clearer they became, but they couldn't understand what was being said. The voice repeatedly fell back in the ears, becoming clearer and clearer, and the frightened expressions slowly appeared on everyone's faces, it was clearly the last stranger to die in the cave, and the words he said before he died, it was a curse before death.
