The disciples around the Buddha felt strange and asked, "This bhikshuni has never seen the Buddha since he became a monk, why have you accepted her confession?" What is the cause? Tell us about it. ”

The Buddha then told the story of the past: once upon a time, there was a white elephant with six tusks, and it had two wives, one named Xian and the other Shanxian.

Once, the six-tusked white elephant, accompanied by two ladies, was walking in the forest, and suddenly saw a very beautiful lotus flower in the pond, so he went up and picked it off. Just as it wanted to offer the lotus flower to Mrs. Xian, Mrs. Shanxian snatched it away. When Mrs. Xian saw this, she was very displeased, and she thought: He loves Shanxian but not me. At that time, there was a pagoda in the mountain where the elephants lived, and Mrs. Xian often collected flowers to make offerings to the Buddha. She secretly made a wish: I was born in the world in the next life, and I will not forget the wrongs I have suffered in this life, and I must pull out its ivory. Then he walked up the cliff and jumped down, but he didn't even find the bones.

Lady Hyun jumped off a cliff and ascended to heaven, and then went down to earth to be born as a daughter in the family of the king of Vitiri. In more than ten years, she has become a beautiful and slim girl. King Vitiri gave her to King Brahmada.

This woman did not forget the grievances of her previous life, and on the night of the candles in the cave room, she said to Brahmanda coquettishly: "You have to make me a bed out of ivory so that I can live, otherwise, I will not be with you for long before I die." ”

King Brahmanda immediately issued an order: Anyone who could get ivory that could be used to make a bed would be rewarded with a hundred taels of gold.

When the news spread, people wanted the reward, but they couldn't think of a way to hunt the elephants. When a hunter who had lived in the mountains and forests for many years heard the news, he was very excited and shouted, "Now I can make a fortune." It turned out that he knew the habits of elephants in the deep mountains and old forests, and had rich experience in hunting elephants.

A few days later, the hunter was dressed in a robe, carrying a huge bow, and carrying a bag of venom-soaked arrowheads, and came to the place where the six-tusked white elephant frequented. Mrs. Shanxian saw a hunter coming from a distance, so she hurried to the six-tusked white elephant to report the news.

The white elephant asked, "What clothes do you see the hunter wearing?" ”

Lady Zenxian replied, "The hunter wears a black robe. ”

The six-tusked white elephant comforted Mrs. Shanxian and said, "Don't panic, the monks in robes are all good people who eat vegetarian and do good, and they never kill, so they will never come to harm us." ”

But to the surprise of the six-tusked white elephant, as soon as its words fell, the hunter's poisoned arrow shot at him. The six-tusked white elephant was quite agile, and quickly flashed to the side, so that the arrow did not hit him.

Seeing this, Mrs. Shanxian said angrily: "I told you to hide quickly, but you said that monks are all good people who accumulate virtue and do good. Now how do you explain what just happened? ”

The six-tusked white elephant replied, "It is not because he is wearing a robe, but because he has troubles in his heart." Therefore, it is not a sin to be a monk, but a sin of not being quiet in his mind. ”

Lady Seonhyun did not listen to the explanation of the six-tusked white elephant, and wanted to rush forward and trample the hunter to death. The six-tusked white elephant immediately stepped forward to stop it, and told many truths, resolutely not letting Lady Shanxian harm the hunter. Mrs. Seonhyun had no choice but to give up. At this time, the five hundred tribes of the White Elephant also rushed over.

The six-tusked white elephant calmly asked the hunter, "What do you need?" Why did you shoot me so viciously? ”

The hunter replied tremblingly, "I am not a greedy person, and I have no intention of harming you, but the king of Brahmanda recruited your fangs, and I thought it was a good opportunity to make a fortune, so I came to shoot you." ”

After hearing this, the six-tusked white elephant immediately understood something. It said earnestly to the hunter, "Since you have a mission, come and fetch my tusks." ”

The hunter thought he had misheard the white elephant. Then the white elephant said, "I beseech thee, hasten to pull out my tusks, so that I may return to your king." ”

The hunter hastened to reply, "How dare I pull out your teeth?" You are so merciful that instead of curing my sin, you have saved my life. If I pull out your teeth, it will be revenge, and my hands will rot. "Search

Hearing this, the six-tusked white elephant went to the foot of a big tree and used his proboscis to pull out the tusks with all his might. Then he vowed to remove all the fangs of all living beings in the future. The hunter returned to the capital with the tusks of the six-tusked white elephant and immediately presented the tusks to King Vhamada. When King Brahmada saw this, he was overjoyed and sent the ivory to his wife.

But when the lady saw the ivory, she suddenly felt remorse, and secretly thought, "Why should I ask for this ivory of the Virtuous Pure Precept today?" What a sin. Since then, she has made great merits, and made a vow to study Buddhism and build merit. Soon after, she became a monk and learned the Tao and attained the Arhat Path.

When the Buddha said this, he smiled and said to his disciples, "At that time, the six-tusked white elephant was my predecessor, and that hunter was Devadatta, and that virtuous lady was the bhikshuni who came to repent today, and that virtuous lady was the Yajendhara bhikshuni. ”

When the disciples heard this, they suddenly realized. ”

Hearing this, Duan Chaonuan was also thinking about such a question.

If that's true, if it's true.

So on this issue, is it just something, everything is just a causal cycle, a so-called this or something, or something.

Is that the person you met in this life, and the person you were entangled in your previous life?

That being the case, said Haruki Murakami.

The lost man is lost, and the one who meets will meet again.

That doesn't mean that this world is a huge circle, and this world goes around and around, and you will still meet the people you want to meet.

In that case, there are actually some of those fates, the so-called predestined ones.

Who dares to say this question, who can say it, whether it is right or not, whether it can be proven, and whether it will be confirmed one day.
