Chapter 5: First Contact with Hulk (2)
"Who built this for you?"
Nick Fury came out of the tunnel with a frown and asked the boy his doubts.
Evan's villa was burned down during the riots in New York, and the stingy boss used it to deduct many artists' hard-earned money.
However, S.H.I.E.L.D. and the U.S. government did not know that anyone had paid compensation on their behalf, so not only did they renovate the boy's villa, but they also built him an extremely state-of-the-art underground laboratory.
From the design of the drawings to the specific construction work, there is the participation and supervision of S.H.I.E.L.D., and it stands to reason that this villa should not even have the slightest secret from the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., who has a keen sense of intelligence in the underground laboratory.
But now, right under his nose, there is a second underground floor that should not have appeared, which arouses Nick Fury's alarm, so the first thing he does after coming down is not to observe the surrounding environment, but to ask the boy about the builder of this floor.
"Tony," Ivan replied, gesturing to his feet, "he helped me build the general framework of the second floor, and then built a giant reactor on the third floor to power my new invention, and in return, I promised not to call him a sissy again, and promised to sell one to Pepper when the invention was miniaturized." β
"Can you remember?"
Hearing that it was Tony's handiwork, Nick let down his guard.
It doesn't make any sense to dig deeper, but it will arouse the boy's vigilance and provide an opportunity for Wei's provocation.
So, Nick Fury appropriately changed the subject, and the mocking tone confirmed that he was very happy with the taste of the new brand of blood pressure medicine.
"Of course, I even changed the remarks on the phone. β
Evan took out his phone, called up the name of "Tony Stark" in the address book and shook it at Nick, muttering: "Don't think of others as you do, your competitor is Pepper, you see, Tony and I didn't mention you when we negotiated terms." β
Nick Fury pretended not to hear with a cold face, he knew the character of that little bastard, and if he answered, the trash talk that would follow would definitely be endless.
"Evan, what the hell are you calling us here for?"
Coulson smiled and patted the boy on the shoulder, drawing his attention to him, asking, half curious, half diverted.
"Go fight the Hulk," Ivan raised his hand and pointed to the bloated mechic in front of him, and introduced in a conspicuous tone, "My new invention - displacement gear!"
"I'm really glad you didn't add some weird catchphrases to the end of the word. β
Nick subconsciously teased the boy, focusing on the mecha that took up nearly two-thirds of the entire floor and was made up of thousands of gears of various shapes.
"Because it's not perfect, and when it's completely perfected, I'm going to call it ......"
"Don't say it, I don't want to know," Ivan was interrupted by Nick Fury before he could finish his words, and the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., who had palpitations, subconsciously squeezed his somewhat stuffy chest and led the topic elsewhere: "Let's talk about business, how to use that thing?"
"You can ask Hill to tell us a latitude and longitude coordinate point, and make sure that there are no oversized obstructions within thirty meters of that point. β
The boy who answered looked regretful, perhaps because he really valued the ritual nature of the work when it was completed, and he did not insist on telling the name he had already thought of to Director Nick, who had a little bulging temple.
Nick took out his communicator and began to contact Ciel, and then, as if he had thought of something, gave Coulson an inquiring look.
The agent, who understood what his boss meant, asked the excited boy with his cane, "It won't be in any danger, Evan didn't you say it wasn't perfect?"
"Imperfection is relative to its size and energy consumption, and there is no problem with utility. β
The boy waved his hand absently, motioned for the others to follow, and led the group to a strangely shaped platform with a slightly hollowed out lower end.
At the very front of the platform is an upright control board with no buttons, only a spherical bayonet surrounded by ring-shaped scales of varying lengths.
"Is this a space teleporter?"
Nick Fury, who had completed the communication with Ciel, also walked over, glanced at Wei without a trace, and asked curiously.
"No," Evan shook his head and explained, "Although the effect is very similar, the timeliness is too long, and it needs the center of the earth as the coordinate reference origin, and there is still a big gap from the real space shuttle technology." β
"And how did it get us to our destination?"
It was Melinda who was questioning, and she was indeed very curious about this strange device.
"This is a positional parameter superposition device, which can superimpose our current positional parameters on the position coordinates of the target location, and after the superimposed positional coordinate parameters are restored, we have stayed at the location of the destination. β
Snapping the smooth ball at the top of the cane into the interface on the control board, Evan glanced back at Nick Fury, and then, as if he had won a bargain, he happily twisted the grip at the bottom of the cane while explaining to Melinda the new invention he had developed based on the relevant principles of the "Fire Cheer Grenade".
The ball that the cane snapped into the interface creaked under the boy's vigorous twisting, and Nick subconsciously touched the top of the smooth head, feeling a little hairy in his heart.
"Alrightβ"
As soon as Ivan's words fell, the gear set facing the platform began to rotate rapidly, and wisps of electric sparks appeared one after another along with the friction of the staggered gears throughout the mechanical group, converging into a blue current beam and leading into a special device underground.
Several people on the platform felt a strange pressure acting on them, like small insects stuck to the dripping pine resin, and the mere blink of an eye would exhaust all their strength.
The surrounding environment began to become illusory and cluttered, and the blurring and awkwardness caused by the mixing of colors and external contours made the first reaction of those who saw it was to wipe their eyes fiercely.
Thankfully, this didn't last long, and when the surroundings changed from blurry to clear again, several people appeared in front of Hill with a shocked face.
The departure of Evan and the others slowly brought the spinning gears to a halt, and the noisy basement returned to its former silence.
......
The bright yellow circle of light emerges from mid-air and rotates endlessly, and the area inside the circle becomes larger and larger as it rotates.
Finally, a strange connecting corridor appeared on the second floor of Ivan's basement, and a middle-aged woman with a bare head walked out of it, followed by a tall young man.
"They're leaving, teacher, should we chase after them. β
Mordo glanced at the gear set that had stopped, didn't pay much attention, and turned to his teacher and asked.
Gu Yi shook his head with a smile, and with a wave of his hand, the flashback image appeared in the air, showing the original experience of Evan and his party just now.
However, just when Carl Mordo was surprised by the strange special effects of the gear set, Wei Wei, who had been lazily listening to Evan explain the mechanism of the invention in the video, turned his head sharply and looked sharply at Mordo's location.
But she had nothing to gain, so she turned back with a puzzled face, her body tense, and she was obviously on guard.
"Teacherβ"
Startled, Mordo pointed to the image that was still being demonstrated in mid-air, and his words were in a trill: "She ..... she found us?"
"It's you. β
Gu Yi looked at Wei on the picture with his back to him with interest, and scared his disciple with a bad taste: "She has already set her eyes on you, Mordo, you have to be careful, if you get distracted in class again, a female warrior in armor will jump out behind you and punch you hard." β
β......β
Mo Du, who was originally a little frightened, was not nervous when he heard his teacher's words, and glanced at Gu Yi, who was telling him a revised version of the story of the big bad wolf, and the helpless young man had to remind the other party: "Teacher, I am already twenty-seven years old, and I didn't believe your argument when I was ten years old." β
"So you've always been so old-fashioned, look at Casillas, young people should be vibrant, otherwise when you get older, you can only pay tribute to your lost green years by pretending to be young. β
Gu Yi led Carl Mordo to the platform where Evan and the others finally left, and while observing the scale on the operation board, he teased the helpless disciple, as if she had nothing to do with the pretending person she mentioned in her mouth.
