Chapter Ninety-Eight: The Attack of the Jaguar
The sun had left its last rays and then vanished, a dim light, but not so dark that the sailors could still make out the path in the jungle.
Gordon had already wrung out his clothes into the barrels, which were carried by Allen, who had arrived from the ship, and the last five sailors, carrying the two barrels.
"Captain, you really didn't do anything that night?"
There was something strange in Allen's tone, under Quirin's seductive appearance, few men could endure it, and it was a situation that had already been subdued.
"Captain you, am I such a person? She wants to take off one of my hands, okay? β
Gordon waved his hand, interrupting Alan's imagination, and besides, he didn't like to force it, otherwise what difference would he have from those hooligans.
"Whew, thank goodness. β
Alan didn't want to communicate with Gordon too much for a long time, because he was really uncomfortable at the thought that his goddess would eventually be possessed by Gordon.
And everyone's age is not much different, and Gordon doesn't have a captain's shelf, so he goes with Allen.
"I don't know if you're glad I didn't have a broken hand by that woman, or if I'm glad I didn't get into him. β
Gordon complained loudly, Allen, this kid has been with him for so long, but he sees that the woman has forgotten all the friendships, what a white-eyed wolf.
The two talked all the way, all the way through the jungle, and the sailors also talked about it in the back, the captain's gossip was their talking point, maybe after passing through two more ports, Gordon would have a new name: Captain?
η°η°,η°......
There was some noise in the surrounding bushes, and it was clearly not the wind.
"Be quiet!"
Gordon shouted in a low voice, stifling the sailors' talk.
The sailors, too, began to realize what was happening, put down the buckets in their hands and began to draw their muskets.
You talk about scimitars, but not many sailors want to fight the jaguar in hand-to-hand combat.
They stared nervously at their surroundings, afraid of one coming out of somewhere.
"Hawkeye!"
Gordon thought silently in his mind, and all the glowing objects with heat sources were no longer hiding.
In the bushes, a lifeform burrowed around, and then began to rush out.
"Everyone be careful!"
As Gordon shouted, everyone's heartstrings tightened, and they looked at the bushes on their right.
"Humm! Huh......"
A wild boar came out of the middle, but it was not afraid of people, it had never seen such a creature before, and it did not even have a head, and continued to burrow into the bushes on the left.
"This ......"
All the sailors breathed a sigh of relief, fortunately it was only a wild boar, and did not attack them, and withdrew their pistols one after another, ready to pick up the bucket again and walk back.
But at this time.
"Captain, be careful!"
A sharp-eyed sailor could clearly see behind him, and on a branch overhead, a jaguar with a green glint in its eyes was staring at Gordon.
At the moment of hearing the sailor's shout, the jaguar moved, leaping from a high branch and pounced on Gordon.
The time felt so slow for a second, Gordon could clearly see the trees shaking, the leaves falling from the sky, the sailors' shouts being pulled long, and Allen, struggling to hold the gun with his right hand from the belt of the gun from his waist.
As if the sound had stopped, Gordon blinked his eyes and saw a large figure pounce above him, two claws already touching his shoulders.
"Roar!"
The stout jaguar was larger than an adult, and its thick and powerful limbs threw Gordon directly to the ground, but fortunately, the dirt mixed with fallen leaves behind it was not too hard, but the roots and stones in it were directly pressed against the mouth of Gordon's vest.
He let out a muffled grunt in pain, and this blow directly caused Gordon's lungs to suffer a frontal blow, and the lungs contracted violently, unable to breathe in any air.
But this is not the end at all.
The jaguar's retreat also stomped heavily on Gordon's abdomen, and with the momentum of leaping from above, he almost vomited out a mouthful of old blood, and the large bloody mouth was in front of him, towards Gordon's neck.
The threat of death was so imminent, and for a moment, all that was in Gordon's mind was chagrin, and he finally began to realize that this was not a game, that these wild animals were alive, full of aggression and lethality, and not like the lambs that stayed and could easily become materials.
The jaguar is a big cat second only to the liger, and the bite force is even higher than it, and this bite is absolutely dead.
At such a moment, he couldn't do anything, he could only take one last look at Allen, with some regret and some nostalgia.
Allen had only pulled his gun out of his waist at this time, and it was at least two seconds before he could aim and shoot, and in those two seconds, he would have been bitten in the throat.
Bang!
During the gunpowder jet, a projectile hit the jaguar in the neck accurately, and blood splattered from the wound.
"Roaring ......"
The jaguar left one last roar and then fell to one side.
Bang bang!
More muskets rang out, and Alan and the sailors behind him finally pulled out their guns and beat the jaguar to the point of blood.
But this was still not puzzled, Alan pulled out the scimitar from his waist, and then slammed it into the eye socket of the jaguar corpse, and after making sure that the beast was completely dead, he helped Gordon from the ground in shock.
"Captain, are you alright, get up, we need to get out of here. β
Gordon took his hand and took a big breath, and his lungs finally worked again, making him feel extremely relieved.
He looked back to the shore to see who had saved his life.
A few dim figures slowly walked in, Smiling KuliΔ, as well as Mickey and two sailors.
Looking at the musket in Kuric's hand, which was still emitting smoke, Gordon gave a thumbs up.
"Ahem, Morgan, I never knew you had this hand, and you have good marksmanship. β
The latter reached out and pulled him up.
"Let's go, Gordon, the jungle at night is not a place to stay. β
The sailors lifted the barrels again, Alan lifted Gordon's clothes, and the two sailors dragged the jaguar carcass and sped away towards the beach.
"Mitch, you can help me see if my back hurts, is it broken. β
Gordon limped a little with Mickey's support, and now he felt pain all over his body, not only his back against the rocks and tree roots, but also his own stomach, and when he came down from both feet, he felt like his intestines were going to break.
Adult jaguars can weigh from seventy to one hundred and eighty kilograms.
Mitch looked at the blood in Gordon's teeth, and the arm he was holding on to Gordon, but he didn't say anything.
"It's okay captain, just a little injured. β
