Chapter 54: Marriage Proposal

After the Christmas break, Cynthia returned to Hogwarts.

One day, Cynthia was on her way to the library when she was stopped by Dumbledore.

"Cynthia, can I talk to you?" Dumbledore looked at her with a smile on his face.

"Of course, Professor Dumbledore." Cynthia nodded, and followed Dumbledore to the Headmaster's office.

"Sit down, would you like some mead, or lemon sherbet?" Dumbledore sat on the top seat.

"No, Professor." Cynthia rejected him outright.

"Where are you this Christmas break?" Dumbledore stared at Cynthia and asked a pointed question.

"At Black Manor, of course, Professor. Every year, is there anything you are looking for me? Cynthia had expected Dumbledore to talk to her at home.

"Are you sure? I look like I've seen you somewhere else. Dumbledore's piercing gaze seemed to pierce her.

Cynthia was secretly nervous, and although she had practiced Occlumency, she wasn't sure if she would be able to hide it from the greatest white wizard in the world.

"Maybe you're mistaken, Professor." Cynthia said calmly.

"Oh, that's probably because I'm wrong. Nice occlusion, though, Cynthia. ”

Cynthia breathed a sigh of relief, and it seemed that she had succeeded in concealing Dumbledore's detrimental intentions. "Thank you for the compliment, Professor, but you should know that as pure-bloods, each of us will practice Occlumency in order to prevent revealing family secrets."

"You're learning well! Okay, I'm fine, you go back! ”

"Goodbye, then, Professor Dumbledore!" Cynthia stood up and bowed to the old man.

"Wait, Cynthia, I hope you don't do anything that you regret yourself, if one day you regret it, you can come to me." Dumbledore stopped the girl who had walked to the door.

"Thank you for your kindness, I'll remember it." Cynthia didn't look back, just answered and pushed the door out.

Dumbledore sighed as he stared in the direction the girl was leaving.

Cynthia relaxed as she walked out of the principal's room, she was already in a cold sweat, and she felt that her robe was already a little wet.

"He is truly the greatest wizard of the century, and I can barely resist his fascination. It seems that he recognized me that day. ”

Soon it was the Quidditch final in April, and this year Gryffindor was on a strong track, even beating Slytherin once.

Cynthia thought that maybe it was because James and the others were about to graduate and planned to win a championship.

"It's definitely going to be a tough one, but I hope that each of you can get the best out of yourself!"

Before the game, Cynthia, as the captain, made a pre-match speech as usual.

The Slytherin team members all nodded earnestly. "So, let's go!" Cynthia looked at her team members with satisfaction, turned around and picked up her broomstick.

Today is a sunny day, the warm sun shines on everyone's body, and the warm spring breeze blows, it is a good day for the competition.

Soon the game began.

Jaime was particularly crazy today, he had already led the Gryffindor team to a thirty-point lead. Gryffindor's batsman kept hitting the Bludger in Cynthia's direction, making Cynthia unable to get out of his body, let alone attack.

But the score was quickly tied by the Slytherins, and the score began to stalemate, all of them were ten points for you and ten for me, and the gap could not be closed.

Cynthia also saw her chance and got rid of the opposing batsman.

"Rael, the Golden Snitch is particularly critical now, you must be careful!" Cynthia quickly flew to Regulus's side.

"Don't worry, Thea." Regulus nodded.

The Gryffindor batsman was still staring at Cynthia, who had been hit three times by a Bludger, but thankfully there were no major problems.

Soon, Regulus spotted the Golden Snitch and flew in that direction.

Seeing this, Jaime and Lily followed, and Cynthia flew over.

The two Gryffindor batsmen began to attack Regulus frantically, and Cynthia and another Slytherin batsman struggled to defend.

Cynthia only felt that her physical strength was about to run out, but the opponent's attack was still very fast, and soon, they broke through the defense of the two, and Cynthia did not dodge a blow because of her lack of physical strength.

Regulus was also hit, and the Golden Snitch fell into the hands of Lily, who was close behind.

"Lily Evans has caught the Golden Snitch! This year's winner belongs, Gryffindor! The off-field commentary announced the champion team.

In an instant, cheers and screams resounded throughout the Quidditch pitch.

As Jaime received the trophy as captain, he suddenly got down on one knee and looked at Lily, who was dazed.

"Lily, we're graduating this year, would you like to marry me?!" Jaime pulled a ring out of his arms and looked at Lily affectionately and expectantly.

"Ahh Marry him! There was a neat voice from Gryffindor outside the field.

Lily was a little overwhelmed, and a blush appeared on her face.

"Marry me, Lily! I will spend my whole life loving you and taking care of you! Seeing that Lily was slow to react, Jaime couldn't help but be a little anxious.

"I, I promise you!" Lily shyly agreed to Jaime's proposal, stretched out her left hand, and let Jaime put the ring on her left hand, and the two of them hugged each other tightly.

"Is it even a marriage proposal like that, it's really in line with their Gryffindor identity!" Cynthia couldn't help but sigh as she watched this scene, but for a moment she remembered Severus.

"Merlin, damn it! Can't you just propose in private?! Cynthia looked back at the Slytherin audience, and sure enough, Severus turned away with a heavy face.

Cynthia didn't care about her injuries and limped after her.

It's the Forbidden Forest again, and Cynthia discovers that whenever Severus is in a bad mood, he will come to that small river deep in the Forbidden Forest.

That's Lily, the girl Severus has liked for so many years, she agreed to someone else's marriage proposal today, and this person is still Severus's most hated James.

"Severus......" Cynthia said softly.

“…… Cynthia...... Why is it Jaime ......" After a long time, the man's hoarse voice with a crying voice came.

Severus ...... Don't be too upset......" Cynthia didn't know how to comfort him.

“…… When I was nine years old, I met her and fell in love with her...... It's been eleven years, I've loved her for eleven years, and she's going to be someone else's bride in the end......" Every word of the man was like a knife, and a knife pierced Cynthia's heart.

She and Lily were five years apart, and if he had met her first, would the story have been completely different?

"Let's go, leave me alone for a while."

"West ......"

"I think you can understand people."

Cynthia had no choice but to turn around and leave. Behind him, the man's intermittent suppressed cry came.
