With the screeching sound of metal grinding, the huge train fuselage finally stopped in the shroud of steam.

Audrey Miller walked out of the train station in a crowd. In such a bustling city, Audrey excitedly quickened her pace, relying on her arms to carry the suitcase laboriously, inevitably swinging.

The winter cold didn't freeze her at all, and she just curled up in her coat to enjoy the little warmth that belonged to her.

She loves it.

Busy train stations, spectacular red-roofed buildings, staggered tram tracks. She hadn't seen such a prosperous scene for a long time, when was the last time she saw it? Two years ago, I had to go back to my hometown because of my illness from the previous master, in a small town in Belgium. The old man was still very considerate, and gladly agreed to his request to go home to recuperate, and did not prepare her for the dereliction of duty caused by her dizziness at work. It's just that the old man hired another servant after she left, and she couldn't go back to work after she got well. Oh, may that lord have a more competent servant than she is.

Since she recovered from her illness, she has not been able to find a regular livelihood, and can only rely on odd jobs in the town to supplement her family's meager income. However, although her family is not rich, her parents are very gentle, and they have never complained about her work for even a word, and they still greet her with a smile every day. But it is precisely because of this that she wants to work harder, because she can only guess what kind of pressure is behind her parents' smiles. It's because of love, but also because of guilt.

So when she learned that she had another chance to get a job, she agreed without hesitation, hoping only that everything was safe with her parents, because she was going to Munich far away. This job was introduced to her by her old master, he is such a good person, I wish him all the best.

"Get out of the way!"

A shout interrupted her thoughts, and she screamed and flashed to the side, nearly being hit.

"Alas, something that only a rich old lady can sit on."

She muttered to herself, but then quickened her pace, soaking up the novelty of the big city again.

With brisk steps along the way, Audrey finally found the house where she didn't know how many years she would live in the future. Maybe a year or two, maybe a lifetime, who knows, fate is such a thing.

"Bell Bell Bell ......"

She knocked several times before she faintly heard the sound of hurried footsteps.

The door slammed open, and a man with glasses came out.

"Hello, I'm ......"

"Ah, you must be Miss Miller, aren't you?" Audrey was just about to introduce herself, but was interrupted by the person in front of her in a hurry.

"Yes, I'm ......"

"Come in!"

The man lifted his glasses and pulled Audrey into the room as he spoke.

"Are you Mr. Planck?" Audrey felt the need to make sure.

"Oh yes, I'm Planck, Max Planck."

As he spoke, Planck motioned for Audrey to shake hands, "Let my wife explain your specific work on my behalf, look, she's there." ”

"Mary, this is the maid I spoke of earlier, and you come and tell this child what to do."

After explaining this, he rolled his eyes, thought about what he hadn't missed, and hurried away.

This man is a little eccentric, but he is very enthusiastic, and he probably isn't the kind of person who will make things difficult for me.

Audrey was thinking about it when Mary came over and looked her up and down with approving eyes, looking very satisfied.

"What a beautiful little girl, come with me." With that, he took Audrey around the house and explained her work.

"There's a lot in this attic, but there's no room for a lot of room, so I'm sorry to let you stay in a place like this."

"Ah, it's okay, it's already good, thank you, ma'am."

Audrey hurriedly said that she was not a pampered little girl, and she was not doing a hypocritical job.

"Your house is beautiful." After the visit, Audrey sighed.

"Oh, thank you, Miss Miller."

"Just call me Audrey, ma'am."

"Oh, okay, Audrey, how about dinner tonight?"

"This ......," Audrey hesitated.

"Don't do that, Audrey, at least let people know who you are, you need a meet-and-greet."

"Let others know...... Who am I......"

Audrey muttered to herself in a daze. "Yes, thank you, ma'am!"

After Madame left, Audrey stared at the quiet fire burning in the fireplace.

"Others need to know...... Who am I......"

"If this flame had a name, would anyone know who it was......"

As if in response to her, the flames flickered slightly.

At dinner, Mr. Planck greeted him with an enthusiastic introduction, "Ah, I almost forgot—Audrey Miller." My newly recruited servant. Welcome here, Miss Audrey. ”

Audrey hurriedly expressed her gratitude, "Thank you very much to all the gentlemen and ladies for letting me work here." ”

"Oh, it's a kind kid at first glance." Mary said, "You don't have to pay much attention here, just do your job." As long as you don't bring those cats into the house, the rest doesn't matter. Oh, and pollen, I'm allergic to both. You know, I met a cat that time......" Mrs. Mary began to babble about the past.

She wielded expensive silver cutlery in her hand, and beside her was a candlestick in the shape of a trident, on which the candle burned quietly, with a faint fragrance, and the faint flame swayed from side to side with Lady Mary's every move.

Although the restaurant is not large, it has a fine decoration. There is a painting on the wall of a picture of many people huddled in a small space in the sky, and one of them has gray hair and reaches out to another person on the ground. The man on the ground stretched one leg straight and the other leg crooked upward, as if lying on a mountain meadow, stretched out his hand to the heavens, as if he were pleading.

Audrey looked at Mr. Planck again, and he seemed to be nervous, and at times he bowed his head in silence, and at other times he raised his head suddenly, as if he wanted to say something, but after a while he bowed his head to himself, and did not seem to listen to Mary. Audrey was overwhelmed by Mr. Planck's fickle actions, but glanced at the others as if she were used to it. Although normally Audrey would not dare not look at the color of her master, now she had to pretend not to see it.

"Audrey?"

Just after Audrey had made up her mind to eat quietly, Planck suddenly called her name. Audrey was stunned for a moment, and hurriedly agreed.

"I'm here, sir."

"You...... Have you been exposed to physics? Planck asked tentatively.

"Physics?" Audrey was stunned for a moment, obviously thinking more about this unfamiliar word.

"No, sir, I haven't touched it at all, but—"

Speaking of this, Audrey paused, as if trying to remember something.

"My last old master seems to be interested in this science as well."

"Oh—he, sir," said Planck, shaking his head and smiling, for he was more concerned than physics, which to his ears was probably like the bedtime stories you heard as a child. ”

"There's been a few last few problems left in the finishing touches of physics lately, and the gang is planning to overcome them." Planck stroked his beard and said to Mary, "So I'll probably be in the lab a little bit more lately, for this problem." ”

At this point, Planck began his long battle for his dream of being able to refine the physical system. And Audrey quickly adapted to the new environment.

After a few years, Audrey seemed to be isolated from the world, completely unaware of what was happening outside, letting the outside country roam and close, just constantly busy, doing what a servant should do.

Such days lasted until 1900.

At the turn of spring and summer that year, Munich became more and more prosperous, showing its vibrancy to people from all over the world.

Audrey walked down the street in a delicate pink and light blue patchwork dress, floating like a flower in the bustling crowd.

Audrey likes to wear such bright clothes with a pale bamboo basket, especially during this season, when everything is coming back to life. This light-colored outfit made her feel that she could blend into the rhythm of the world, into the swaying shade of the trees, into the warm sunlight, into the vibrant world.

The golden sunlight was at Audrey's feet, and the westward sun pulled the alley long, and a few corners turned a few corners, and it was a relatively narrow street.

The streets are lined with tall trees, and when a gust of wind blows, the faint sound of leaf waves will not make Audrey feel lonely. Audrey enjoys walking here, even if it's a longer detour.

Suddenly, a murmur that did not match the scene fell from the top of the tree and landed beside Audrey.

"Meow ——!"

A shrill meow of a cat came, visibly panicked and frightened.

Audrey was also taken aback, and quickly flashed a step to the side before fixing her eyes on the cat.

It was a skinny cat, covered in black fur, with three short white stripes between its eyes and on both sides of its nose, arranged in a three-point pattern. The most impressive thing is its pair of dark green eyes, with pointed ears, giving people a feeling of not daring to explore. It had narrow pupils in its eyes, and was looking at Audrey with a panicked and somewhat pleading look.

Audrey came to her senses and walked over to examine it carefully, and found that its leg had been injured. But luckily the rest of it was fine.

"You can't leave it here like this, it's going to starve if it can't move." Audrey thought to herself, she was going to pick up the cat.

Suddenly, she remembered what Lady Mary had said that she was allergic to flowers and cats.

Audrey usually takes care not to bring any pollen into the house, but she never pays attention to the cat, so much so that she almost forgets.

But Audrey, who remembered it, would rather not think about it at the moment.

Because of Audrey, who thought of this, her hand stiffened in the air, and her hand hanging in the air was making a difficult choice.
