Chapter 65: Request
Gaunt's old house.
"How's it going, did you find it?" The Death Eaters knelt on the ground, but none of them answered.
"A bunch of idiots! Rubbish! I can't even find anyone! Voldemort looked at his men and angrily smashed the goblet in his hand.
"Master, I got a message!" Just when Voldemort was angry, Bellatrix walked in excitedly.
"What's the news, Bella? If this news doesn't satisfy me, just wait to bear the wrath of the Dark Lord! Voldemort looked at Bellatrix with a menace in his tone.
"Master, this news will definitely please you! I found out that at the end of July, two boys were born in the Auror family! Bellatrix said in a brisk tone.
"Which two?" Voldemort asked eagerly.
"Frank Longbottom, Alice Longbottom, and James Potter, Lily Potter. They both gave birth to a boy on July 31! β
"Very well, Bella! What reward do you want? Your great host will grant your wishes! Voldemort had a rare smile on his face these days.
"Master, I only hope you can allow me to follow you forever!" Bellatrix said respectfully.
"Very good, now I need all the information of these two Auror couples!" Voldemort sat back in his seat satisfied.
"Mr. and Mrs. Longbottom, both pure-bloods, key members of the Order of the Phoenix, and the best of the Aurors, gave birth to Neville Longbottom, also a pure-blood, on July 31, 1980." When Bellatrix said this, he stopped and looked at Severus, whose face was pale, with interest.
"Mr. and Mrs. Potter, James Potter is a pureblood, and Lily Potter is a Mudblood! Both were core members of the Aurors and the Order of the Phoenix, and gave birth to their half-blood son, Harry Potter, on July 31, 1980. β
"Mudbloods?" Voldemort scoffed. "Severus, I remember, you seem to like this mudblood, don't you?"
"Lord, master......" Severus said with a shudder.
"According to the prophecy, one of these two boys will kill me? Then, I can only take advantage of them before they grow up and strike first. Everyone, from now on, do your best to find out the whereabouts of the Longbottoms and the Potters! β
"Now that we're able to get this information, Dumbledore will definitely protect them! Find out these two boys, then, notify me! I'm going to kill them with my own hands! Voldemort's eyes lit up with bloodlust.
After all the Death Eaters were gone, Severus looked up, looked at the man in his seat, and asked, "Master, you, you're just going to kill that boy, right?" β
"What, Severus? Are you worried that I'm going to kill that mudblood?! Voldemort grimaced.
"The host...... I ......"
"As long as she knows each other and doesn't stop me, I won't kill her! Okay, you can step down. β
ββ¦β¦ Yes, master. β
After leaving Gaunt's old mansion and returning to Prince Manor, Severus hurried into the study and pulled out a piece of parchment.
He picked up his pen and wrote on the paper:
Tomorrow at twelve o'clock at noon, Prince Manor, there is something important to discuss.
Yours, Severus.
He stuffed the letter into an envelope with the address and recipient.
12 Grimmauld Place
Cynthia Blake
He summoned the owl and sent the letter.
After Cynthia received the letter, she sat at her desk for a long time, deciding that she would go the next day to see what was going on, presumably related to Lily.
At noon the next day, at eleven fifty-five, Cynthia arrived at Prince Manor, her titular home, through Floo.com.
"Thea, you're here." Severus seemed to have been waiting in front of the fireplace for a long time, his steps a little stiff.
"What did you call me for?" Cynthia spoke directly.
"You, can you help me? Thea, I know your formation level is very high, you must be able to protect Lily with your formation, right?! Severus stepped forward and grabbed Cynthia's arm tightly.
"Sure enough, I didn't guess wrong, you are looking for me because of Lily." A mocking smile curled into Cynthia's mouth as she looked at the pleading man in front of her.
"Severus, you are my husband, and I am your wife! And now you are begging me for someone else's wife? Why should I help you? Why? β
"Thea, you, you can help me, I beg you!" Severus was stunned for a moment when he heard Cynthia's words, but then began to ask again.
"Do you think I'm easy to talk to? Or is it because you think I'm a good person? You're wrong Severus! I've never been a good person! And, from a woman's point of view, I would prefer her to die! I won't help you, you've never thought about me! With that, Cynthia broke free from Severus's grip, turned and walked into the fireplace, and disappeared in a cluster of green flames.
Severus looked at Cynthia's back and froze in place, he didn't expect Cynthia to refuse his request so neatly.
He was furious and smashed the vase on the small table next to him into the fireplace, he must not let the Dark Lord hurt Lily's life!
Thinking of this, he immediately returned to his study, wrote another letter, and sent it.
At eight o'clock in the evening, Severus put on his robes and arrived at the village of Hogsmeade. He walked towards the forest, and at the edge of the forest, there was a figure.
"Here you are, Severus." When he heard the footsteps, the man turned around, and Albus Dumbledore looked at the man with a smile.
"Professor Dumbledore!" Severus looked at the old man in front of him with complexity.
"So what did you call me tonight?"
"I ...... I brought an alert...... No, a request, please......"
Dumbledore waved his wand. Although the foliage around them still fluttered in the evening breeze, there was silence where he and Severus stood facing each other.
"What can a Death Eater ask of me?"
"Thatβthat prophecy...... The prophecy ...... Trelawney......"
"Ah, yes," said Dumbledore, "how much did you convey to Voldemort?" β
"Everything...... Everything I heard! Severus said, "So...... Because of that...... He thinks it's Lily Evans! β
"The prophecy doesn't say of a woman," said Dumbledore, "of a boy born at the end of July......
"You know what I mean! He thinks it's Lily's son, and he's going to chase her down and kill them all! β
"Since Lily is so important to you," said Dumbledore, "Voldemort will surely spare her death, right?" Can't you beg him to spare the mother and give her son in exchange? β
"I, I begged him ......"
"You disgust me." Dumbledore said, "So, you don't care if her husband and children live or die?" They can die as long as you can get what you want? β
Severus didn't say anything, just looked up at Dumbledore.
"Then hide them all," he said in a hoarse voice, "keep her, their safety." Please. β
"And what do you give me in return, Severus?"
"In return?" Severus looked at Dumbledore with a stammering mouth, and after a long time, he said, "Anything." β
