Chapter 447: Variables
Normally, the start of the summer semester meant that Alan and his Quidditch players needed to train hard to prepare for the final Quidditch match of the season.
But this year, he and Harry were preparing for the fourth and final event of the Triwizard Tournament, and unlike other warriors who didn't know what to do, Allen's life was so full that even the research on golem making that he had developed during his vacation because of his interest had not started because the study of Dementors and the Devil's books had taken up most of his time.
Fast forward to the last week of May, and Alan received a note from Professor Flitwick: "Please be at the Quidditch pitch at nine o'clock tonight, where Mr. Bagman will announce what the fourth project is." β
After reading the note, Eren casually slipped the note into the pocket of his magic robe.
So at half past eight in the evening, when Alan passed by the school library, he happened to see Fleur coming out of it.
"What do you think it will be?" asked Fleur as the two of them walked down the stone steps together, melting into the cloudy night.
"What do you hope it will be?" Alan didn't answer, but asked Fleur.
"Underground tunnels, the organizing committee may ask us to look for treasure. Fleur's eyes sparkled.
I didn't expect Fleur to be so interested in finding treasure, maybe I could consider giving her a sniffer next Christmas, when my aunt would no longer be a problem whether she got rid of the scandal of the sphinx causing casualties to her subordinates, and it would be easy to get permission for Fleur.
They walked down the pitch-black lawn towards the Quidditch pitch and entered the pitch through a crack in the stands.
"What are they doing here?" Harry's angry voice rang out inside the arena.
Quidditch pitches are no longer flat and smooth. It seems as if someone has erected numerous long low walls here, which are intricately intricately stretched out in all directions.
"Is it a labyrinth?" Fleur muttered to herself uncertainly, then looked down at the low wall closest to her.
"Hello!" shouted a cheerful voice.
Ludo Bagman stood in the middle of the court, with several other warriors standing beside him. Alan and Fleur stepped over the hedges and walked towards them.
"Well, what do you think?" asked Bagman happily as Alan and Fleur climbed over the last hedge, "it's going well, isn't it? Don't worry,"
Seeing the unhappy look on Harry's face, he smiled and said, "As soon as the tournament is over, your Quidditch pitch will be back to its original state!
No one spoke for a moment, and thenβ
"Labyrinth. Krum said in a gruff voice.
"That's right!" said Bagman, "it's a labyrinth." The last project is very simple and clear. The Goblet of Fire is placed in the middle of the labyrinth, and whoever touches it first becomes the final champion. Not only did the Hogsmeade carnival last until the end of the tournament, but the final challenge was sponsored by many pure-blood families. Even if they can't become champions, they can ensure that every warrior can get their share of the rewards according to their rankings. Alan, this is a good thank you Harris family for the exemplary role you played in taking the lead in initiating the donation of live broadcast equipment, so that those families who still have some money left in the twenty-eight pure-bloods can realize the benefits of the tournament to enhance their reputation, otherwise these conservative and stingy old guys would not have offered to donate such a large amount of gold Galleons, so that every warrior would not return empty-handed. β
"Shall we just go through the labyrinth?" asked Fleur.
"There will be many obstacles. Bagman said cheerfully, but his face became sad at the thought of something: "Some families with farms have provided a lot of monsters, because there are too many of them, some are too dangerous, you should know what happened to Josephine's Magical Beasts Management and Control Division, this makes us very embarrassed, and we haven't finally decided what will be put in the end...... There are also spells that must be lifted...... Stuff like that, you know. Also, the Warriors who lead the scoring go into the maze first. β
Bagman smiled at Allen, "Then Mr. Krum came in, and his strong performance in the last game allowed him to overtake Mr. Potter...... Finally, Mr. Hernandez. But you all have to work hard to succeed, and it depends on your ability to overcome obstacles. It's supposed to be fun, isn't it?"
"The Department of Magical Beasts Management and Control recently found a human-headed sphinx manticore, and this human-headed sphinx manticore-tailed beast killed seven people! "Brooke Hernandez thought of the news he saw some time ago, his face turned pale, he would be injured by various monsters in every game, he had no hope of winning the championship, he just wanted to wait for the last game to be completed, and he would be satisfied not to be injured again.
"Very good...... If you're okay, let's go back to the castle, okay? It's a little cold here......
"Alan, let's go, Gabrielle is still waiting in Beauxbatons for me to go back and tell her a bedtime story...... Ellen?" Fleur noticed that he seemed to be distracted as she urged Ellen, and couldn't help but shake her hand in front of his eyes to bring him back to his senses.
"Uh... I'm sorry, Fleur I was just worried about my aunt's business" Alan perfunctory Fleur with the Magical Beasts Management and Control Division, in fact, he was worried about the small changes in the content of the last game and the plot in his memory, but he was not surprised, after all, Voldemort and Crouch Jr., who knew his strong performance in the first three games, would definitely not pin their hopes on Harry being the first to touch the Goblet of Fire, but now he has lost his prediction of the plot, making him worry about what kind of variables will come in the end.
Harry was much calmer when he learned about the competition, and the next day he was in a better mood when he saw Hagrid, who was fully rejuvenated.
Hagrid was standing outside the hut waiting for his classmates, with some open cardboard boxes at his feet that they had never seen before.
As soon as Hermione saw the cardboard box, her heart sank - maybe there was another nest of fried tail snails?
Hagrid pulled out a small creature from the box, and Hermione realized that it was a fluffy black guy with a long nose and flat front paws, like a shovel, which was very strange.
