The Army of the West Pole Chapter 6 The Legend of the Evil Spirit

The wind and rain covered bridge is less than 100 meters away from Lao Long's cousin's house, and it has a history of 100 years, which can be regarded as a scene in Taiping Town. Chaoyangjun and I walked up the bridge, where several elderly people were enjoying the shade. Stopping by the railing, the distant mountains are verdant, the mountain breeze caresses through the bridge hole, and a few pack horse bells ring, and the trance will be brought into another world in the future.

"I'm sorry, I originally asked you to come to escape the heat, but I didn't expect you to help." I handed the cigarette to Chaoyangjun.

"It's fine. Isn't it okay to play for two days when you're done," Chaoyangjun lit a cigarette and thought thoughtfully, "Anyway, it's not like you've been cheated once or twice." ”

…… Can I take the cigarette back?

We were talking and laughing when my phone rang, it was the old dragon, asking where we were. I told him that he was on the covered bridge, and I saw a sturdy figure rushing over. Before I had time to ask what was going on, I heard Lao Long hurriedly say: "Mr. Liao, I'm afraid it's not easy to get a problem!" "Not long after the separation, the old dragon almost became a water man.

"What's the hard thing to do?" Looking at the old dragon's flustered expression, I probably guessed what was going on.

Lao Long asked me for a cigarette, and took two puffs before he eased up: "I'll tell you about the guest first, the deputy mayor took me to invite three or four, but I didn't want to come." finally invited one, saying that he was only responsible for the reception of the villagers, and he didn't care about the mourning in the mourning hall. "I thought to myself, as expected, the situation at the scene today shows that people are shy about the situation of the deceased, so they hide from a distance and look around, which also explains why most of the young people who are helping out. People who understand old etiquette have their own set of cognitions, and they can't force them if they don't want to come.

"Just be willing to help." We follow the local customs, so naturally we have to respect the local customs. Since the matter of the governor has been arranged, I still asked about the situation of the Taoist venue, "The governor can arrange everyone's banquet and the like, so Mr. Taoist has you arrived?" ”

This question is not tight, and the old dragon is even more angry. "I called and asked, but TMD didn't want to come to any of them, saying that they didn't dare to do it at my aunt's dojo." was so anxious that the old dragon burst into foul language. It's also tricky to have no dojo. I gave Lao Long a suggestion, first let him contact his family, and let them hurry to support the field, now this scene is not something that a few of us young people can hold; Then go to the deputy mayor, he is a government cadre after all, although we should respect the local folklore, but he can't sit idly by and ignore the excessive feudal superstition.

After listening to my opinion, the old dragon dared to go to the mourning hall in a hurry. This kid is sure to be in a hurry enough. I beckoned Chaoyangjun to come over and have a look. Before I could take a step, I was stopped.

I was stopped by several old ladies on the bridge enjoying the coolness, and before I could ask, one of them asked me if I was here to deal with Li Fenglan's funeral. I nodded yes. I thought she would say a few words of comfort, but I didn't think she would open her mouth and let us leave. I didn't know why, another lady interjected: "Li Fenglan is dead, we are all very sad, what a good person we usually are, I didn't expect to be haunted by unjust ghosts and die so miserably." ”

Ghosts? I was shocked, thinking of the death posture of the deceased, could it really be ...... Thinking of this, I can't wait to slap myself, it's the 21st century, and I still believe that there are ghosts in the world. I waved my hand and said, "Auntie, now we are all about science, where did the cow ghost snake god come from." ”

"You know what you know at a young age!" A white-haired lady suddenly stood up and scolded, "This Taiping Town used to be haunted, just over there in Baiyun Beach, and that ghost often comes to the town to harm people." ”

"Oops! Sister Wang, if you meet someone, you will blow this. Baiyun Beach is the holy land of the Buddha, which blesses our side with peace. You say, be careful of the Bodhisattva's blame. An uncle next to her hurriedly stopped her, and got up and waved back again and again as he spoke. After hearing this, Aunt Wang was so angry that she even tapped the railing with the cigarette stick in her hand, accusing the people around her of not knowing the past of Taiping Town, and now there is no suppression of evil ghosts on the Baiyun Beach side, and the things inside will naturally run out to harm people, so she got up and left after speaking.

I listened to the conversations of several old people for a while about gods and Buddhas and ghosts for a while, just like listening to "Journey to the West" and "Liao Zhai". However, I have heard the legend of Baiyun Beach in their mouths. As the junction of the three counties, Taiping Town naturally has frequent exchanges. Legend has it that a long time ago, Taiping Town had not built a bridge, and merchants in the past relied on ferries to cross the river, and residents on both sides of the river also made a living by ferrying. Over time, the ferrymen on both sides of the strait had a conflict because of the ferry, and then developed into a conflict between the people on both sides of the strait, and both sides wanted to merge with each other and monopolize the ferry business of the ferry. Maitreya Buddha traveled here, and saw that the people on both sides of the strait were opposed to each other, so he appeared and turned the people into people, so that the people on both sides of the strait turned hostility into jade silk, and from then on they were at peace and sound, and jointly operated the ferry. In order to thank the Maitreya Buddha for his enlightenment, a Maitreya Temple was built on the Baiyun Beach at the junction of the two sides. Since then, the road in Taiping Town has been harmonious, and the wind and rain have been smooth. The local people, the merchants come and go to the Maitreya Temple to pay homage to the incense and make vows, and the temple incense is extremely vigorous. It was only after several wars and chaos later, coupled with the movement to break the four olds after the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Maitreya Temple was completely abandoned. So far, there are not even ruins left.

It's just a legend, it's basically an old routine. I can find countless folklore stories from all over the country that follow the same process. It is nothing more than an expression of the good wishes of the local people, and by the way, the temple is pasted with gold. For a guy like me, who has a history of half a bucket of water, I still hear some truth from the legend of the past history. But the legend of the evil ghost that Aunt Wang said just now, I'm sure it's the first time I've heard of it. Out of curiosity, I asked a few old people on the bridge, but they couldn't tell why. It's just that I know that there were demons and monsters in the town in the past, so there is no follow-up.

I don't know what motivation drove me, I gave up the idea of helping Lao Long, and pulled Chaoyangjun to chase after Aunt Wang, who had left. Finally caught up on a small hill - don't look at the old man, his hair is gray, and his legs are not slow. Seeing us catching up, the eldest lady was calm and asked us what was the matter. I hurriedly handed over the cigarette in my hand and asked my aunt about the legend of evil ghosts. The eldest lady lit a cigarette and praised us for being sensible in later lives, so she talked about the past of Taiping Town:

The story still revolves around Baiyun Beach.

Passing through Taiping Town is Lixiang Creek, which flows to Baiyun Beach and joins another river. Naturally forming a Y-shape, Baiyuntan is located exactly on the Y-shaped head. A long time ago, Taiping Town belonged to an unknown small country, and the king lived on the mountain next to Baiyun Beach. The king was a three-headed, six-armed monster who trained the young men of the peace to make an army, and tortured the old and weak to death to make military rations. One day, unknown to him, the king suddenly disappeared. The common people were freed and the king's walled city was overturned, but because no one wanted to live there, Baiyuntan was agreed to be the burial place for the deceased in their families. Since then, it doesn't matter if the rich and poor in the town or those who died violently in the past are buried here.

Since then, Taiping Town has risen, and there are families in the town surnamed Qu, who are considered to be local landlords. The rich man's concubine passed away, so he went to Baiyun Beach to find the yin house, and picked a few places that were not very satisfied, all because the rich man Qu wanted to be buried with the concubine after a hundred years, and he didn't want to be buried with the poor people around. In the end, Qu Caizhu himself circled a piece of land on the top of Baiyuntan Mountain as a yin house. Several feng shui gentlemen felt that it was inappropriate, saying that the tomb lived alone on the top of the mountain, above everyone, and had the meaning of stepping on all the people and ascending to the sky. The rich man has only a rich life and no noble life, and being buried on the top of the mountain is not good for future generations. Qu Caizhu said that he was the richest man in Taiping, and he should have climbed to the heights, so he relied on his wealth and power to forcibly build a yin house on the top of Baiyuntan Mountain.

The first day of building the house did not go well. Before the grave was dug up, white cranes hovered over people's heads, wailing. The crane's cry was desolate, making people's hearts numb, and the people who worked did not dare to continue. The rich man of the district only said that the people who worked were deliberately lazy, so he personally went up the mountain to supervise the work. Not long after, the workers came again to report that something had been dug up in the tomb. The rich man ran to take a look, and it turned out to be a nest of small mice. The rich man was furious, saying that people can be scared to death by animals. He killed the rat with his hoe and dug it himself. He didn't dig a few times before he came across something hard, which made people dig out and see that it was an ancient sword. Mr. Feng Shui stepped forward to identify that the Tao was left by the previous king who ruled Taiping brutally, and it was an ominous thing, and this place should also be an ominous place. Who knew that the rich man who heard the legend was not afraid of rejoicing, saying that this place was originally owned by the king, and it was naturally the dragon and phoenix treasure, and he should build the yin house here.

When the day of the funeral came, the coffin was carried up the mountain. Just about to be buried, there was a white crane hovering and wailing on the head, everyone was shocked, only the rich man Qu was happy again and again, saying that the white crane also came to bury the concubine. Everyone didn't dare to cause more trouble, so they hurriedly buried the concubine. Who knew that a few days later, at noon, a sudden thunderbolt in the clear sky split the rich man's mansion to pieces, and the body of the rich man's concubine was also split into a piece of charcoal. The rich man paid a lot of money to find someone to collect the body, but no one dared to go, and the original Yin Mansion became a forbidden place. After that, within ten months, the town began to be haunted, first the whole family of the rich man committed suicide overnight, and then the town was killed one after another, and the dead state was all in the direction of the white cloud stall, kneeling and bleeding. Some people say that they saw the concubine of the rich man's family coming to the town at night to ask for her life. Now the people in the town are not calm, and they invite many capable people and strangers to come to subdue demons and subdue ghosts, but they all return in vain. In the end, a wandering monk passed by and instructed the people to raze the mansion of the rich man, and enshrine a statue of Maitreya on it to suppress the evil spirit. The haunting of the town subsided, and people were grateful for the kindness of Maitreya Buddha, and it was gradually expanded, forming the later Maitreya Temple.

After Aunt Wang finished telling the legend, I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of cold air. Since the legend is naturally false and real, let's not mention whether there is an evil ghost asking for his life, what really makes people shudder is that Aunt Wang mentioned the state of the person who was asked for his life by the evil ghost when he died. Seven orifices bleed, kneeling posture...... Although it was a hot summer day, I felt numb in my back, but there were still some mysteries in my heart that had not been solved. Just as I was about to ask, Lao Long's phone called, saying that there was something important for me to hurry over and help.
