Volume 1: Windforest Volcano Chapter 26: Quetzalcoatl

Welcome to the world of snakes!

What is the situation! Fire's heart was shocked, and he unconsciously took two steps back. He began to feel that things were going in more and more bizarre directions, as if someone had brought them here on purpose.

"Hey, the world of snakes ......" Fire frowned and began to feel a little uneasy. How can this be......" Fire shook his head and muttered to himself.

"Next to ...... Words ......" Zhang Boyu pointed to the wall next to the blood word and said weakly. The fire looked in the direction, and saw a line of small characters engraved under the blood letter, and there was a stone slab, on which were nine stone slabs, which could be pressed. He quickly put away the Tang knife and put his face on it.

"The distinction between day and night is never reversed; The sun is in full bloom, and the light is coming; The only opportunity is the bottom, ten steps as the bottom; At the end of life and death, the snake god descended. ”

"A line of riddles?" Fire mused. Then he looked at the stone slab next to him and saw that it was engraved with the image of the sun. Just click on any of the patterns in the nine-square grid, and the patterns near it will be concave or convex.

"It seems that that line of words is the rule of this nine-square grid," Huo muttered to himself, and then a smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. Because what he likes most is what he likes most is to use his brain, and if it's a battle, it won't be so easy.

"The sun is all present, that is to say, all ......are raised," he said, and began to decipher. In less than a minute, he completed the decryption, and it took only five steps. When he pressed the last stone slab, the wooden box began to shake. The fire only felt unsteady on his feet and fell to the ground.

"What's the situation?" The fire looked around, not knowing what was happening. He quickly put his eyes back on the hole just now, and found an incredible scene. The altar was moving slowly, the surrounding stone walls were making noises, and the center of the altar was sinking downwards little by little, sending it into the ground.

"Damn! Did I make a mistake? "Fire looked around and found that the vision had not disappeared!" No, this is at least ten meters deep underground, why is there still light? He looked around and felt that things were getting more and more bizarre.

Boom! After about thirty seconds, the altar stopped descending, and the lid opened automatically. The fire quickly poked his head out and looked around, checking for danger. It was quiet, and there was no sound at all. When there was really no danger, Huo picked up Zhang Boyu and climbed out of the wooden box in two steps. Zhang Boyu leaned on him and almost lost consciousness. Huo looked at Zhang Boyu, frowned, and said to himself, "Isn't there an antidote here?" With that, he carried Zhang Boyu on his back and walked into the depths. After a few moments, he came to the end. At the end is a central altar with an ancient book on it. On the walls around the altar are carved various frescoes, which seem to explain something. Fire stepped forward and touched the mural. I saw that there were one small figure after another drawn on it, and above the many small people there was a giant python with wings. Fire shook his head and began to decipher:

The name of the god Quetzalcoatl, Kukulkan, is the Mayan deity who brings the rainy season and is associated with sowing, harvesting, and abundant harvests. In fact, it was an exotic, a northern deity brought by the Toltecs when they ruled the Mayan city. This Quetzalcoatl god is widely worshipped by the peoples of Central America.

According to legend, Quetzalcoatl ruled over the Morning Star, invented books, legislated, and brought corn to humans. Quetzalcoatl also represents death and rebirth, and is the protector of the priests.

Quetzalcoatl's place in Mayan culture can be observed in many ways. In the classical period, the scepter held by the Mayan "real person" was a delicate and small shape at one end, with one leg of the villain in the middle turning into a snake body, and the other end being a snake head. In the post-classical period, there were many transformations, but the basic form completely changed, becoming the image of the feathered serpent god with a fan on the upper part, a snake body in the middle, and a snake head on the lower part.

Quetzalcoatl comes with the rainy season. The rainy season coincided with the time when the Maya planted corn. As a result, Quetzalcoatl became the most revered deity of the Mayannon people, in the largest surviving Mayan ancient city, Chizen-Iza. There is a pyramid named after the Quetzalcoatl god Kukulkan.

On the north side of the pyramid, two snake heads are carved on two bottom corners. Every year on the spring and autumn equinoxes, when the sun sets, you can see the shadow of the snake's head cast on the ground and many triangles set together, becoming a very dynamic flying snake. It symbolizes the advent and ascension of Quetzalcoatl during these two days, and it is said that this wonder can only be seen during these two days.

The most classic statue of Quetzalcoatl is still the image of Quetzalcoatl with a fan on the top, a snake body in the middle, and a snake head on the bottom.

Quetzalcoatl has always been the object of reverence, but what others don't know is that shortly after Quetzalcoatl's birth, another Quetzalcoatl appeared. This Quetzalcoatl God has eight heads and six pairs of wings, which can be regarded as a type of Yagi Orochi. Let's call it the Yagi Feathered Serpent.

When Quetzalcoatl was in charge of the human world normally, Yaki Quetzalcoatl found Quetzalcoatl, in a vain attempt to challenge the majesty of Quetzalcoatl, and wanted to justifiably obtain the divine position. But Quetzalcoatl rejected him, believing that inconsequential battles could be avoided and that war was not needed in times of peace.

However, Yaki Feathered Serpent didn't think so, he just wanted to get the god position and have a place among the gods. And so a secret ruse began.

He first secretly drugged Quetzalcoatl, and then instigated the god of darkness, demons, and war to subvert Quetzalcoatl's rule. After the whole country was tossed and messed, Quetzalcoatl was very angry, but there was nothing he could do. He decided to return to his native land.

On the way, the Yaki Feathered Serpent came to challenge him again. It's just that how could Quetzalcoatl's old and weak body withstand a high-intensity fight? After forty-nine days of fighting, Quetzalcoatl finally collapsed from exhaustion. Yagi Quetzalcoatl wanted to take advantage of the victory and kill Quetzalcoatl directly, but Quetzalcoatl escaped with the last bit of strength, and fled to this place to become the ruins of Kukulkan, where he rests forever.

"It turns out that this is the remains of Quetzalcoatl, no wonder there are so many snakes." After looking at the murals on the wall, the fire muttered to himself.

"Ahem, ahem!" Zhang Boyu suddenly coughed violently twice, obviously the poison began to attack.

"Are you alright?" Huo hurriedly put Zhang Boyu down and asked while gently patting his back.

"I didn't ...... things, don't ...... Leave me ......" Zhang Boyu coughed twice, coughed up blood, and stained the clothes on his chest red.

"There's no way out of this place, and there's no antidote," Huo frowned and looked around: "It's really unlucky!" He settled Zhang Boyu under the wall, and then began to explore the entire altar. He clinged to the wall, round and round looking for places where buttons might be hidden. Sadly, there is nothing around but walls carved with frescoes. At this moment, his gaze drifted to the ancient book in the center.

"Looks like I'm going to touch that ancient book." The fire stared at the ancient book and slowly moved over. He walked cautiously on the stone platform, for fear of touching some hidden mechanism. Thankfully, until he stood in front of the ancient book, he didn't trigger any mechanism. He put on his gloves and gently patted the dust on the ancient book, then took it to his palm and carefully opened it.

"This ancient book...... Wrong! ”

The other side.

The crowd finally escaped from the snakes and fled to a cave.

"Xiao Cui, where is Lao Zhang?" Du Chenyu answered Cui Shouyi, patted him on the back, and asked.

He ...... Bitten by a snake...... Fear...... He ......" Cui Shouyi lowered his head.

"......" Du Chenyu took two steps back, his mouth was slightly open, his hands had nowhere to go, and he only felt his mind cloudy. He suddenly felt angry, and a breath of anger reached his chest, and there was nowhere to release it, and his brain was angry to the extreme: "Cui Shouyi! Tell me about you! Why is it so useless! I have to Zhang Boyu wipe your ass for you every time! Look at you! In addition to being able to run away and eat, you have something else to do! Zhang Boyu: If you lose your life, I won't be able to spare you! Du Chenyu scolded, and was about to punch Cui Shouyi. Seeing that the situation was not good, Wei Zitian hurriedly stopped him from behind and hugged him, preventing him from moving forward.

"Calm down! That person is very smart, he must be fine, and besides, there is fire to follow, it must be fine! You calm down first and have something to say! Wei Zitian pulled Du Chenyu and tried not to let him have a seizure.

"Cui Shouyi! I'm telling you! If Zhang Boyu has three long and two short, I will definitely not be able to spare you! Du Chenyu pointed at Cui Shouyi, dropped a cruel word, glared at him through gritted teeth, and then shook his hand and walked towards the depths of the cave.

"Don't be sad, I don't blame you for this." Lin Lixue walked over, gently patted Cui Shouyi's back, and comforted.

"Yes, you don't have to blame yourself, after all, no one can get out of this safely." Wei Zitian said.

Cui Shouyi kept his head down. A tear, slicing through the corner of his eye, fell to the ground.

"I ...... It's useless. ”
