Writer's Chapter: A World Ruled by God
"Father, over here." A metal iron door slowly opened, and the guard slowly pushed the old man in the wheelchair and whispered, "The blasphemous sinners are locked up here." β
"The blasphemer deserves to bear the boundless darkness," said an emotionless voice from the old man's mouth, "although what he has done has not led to serious consequences, and has even had some positive effects, but blasphemy is blasphemy, and the blasphemer deserves to be burned on a stake." β
"Yes." The guard bowed his head slightly, and echoed respectfully.
In the long corridor, he slowly pushed the old man forward, the heels of his leather shoes on the floor, making a burst of echoes, and the two were silent, just quietly walking towards the end of the corridor.
"You seem to have a lot of doubts, say it, there is nothing to hide between us, and there can never be a disagreement." The old man, known as the priest, spoke slowly: "Don't be confined to the class created by human beings today, we are absolutely equal to each other, and it is our ultimate destiny to become a believer in the gods - it will lead us to break everything that was before and establish a new order." β
"Father, why did we go to see that blasphemer?" The guard said slowly, "He is imprisoned here for a crime that absolutely cannot be tolerated, and he should be rotting here alone, so what is the reason why I can wait to come to see such a filthy person at the risk of being defiled?" β
Silence, deathly silence, the old man's silence did not make the guard have a trace of expression, but continued to push the wheelchair as if nothing had happened, like a machine.
"Because there are some things that only he can answer." After slowly speaking the answer, the old man quietly closed his eyes, as if he was closing his eyes to recuperate, "In the same way, the sacrifices prepared for the gods also have a part of him. β
"I see." The guard just answered, and there didn't seem to be any emotion in his words that had been unraveled, as if he had expected this outcome. "Here we are."
With the sound of electricity starting, the door at the end of the corridor slowly opened, revealing the dark passage to the underground, and the guards skillfully stuck the two rows of wheels of the old man's wheelchair on the special passage, and the two tracks were connected with a layer of electricity in an instant, and slowly slid down with the wheelchair.
"When you get there, keep the door open and don't let anyone disturb my conversation." Sitting firmly in his wheelchair, "Priest" said to the guards.
"Okay." The guard nodded, and said no more.
The deep spiral passage continues downward, like a passage to the deepest hell on earth, and there is no end in sight, and a deep sense of unease arises.
But the end is not hell after all, and after a long journey, the two of them still came to this deep underground world.
It was a prison cell.
To be precise, like the cells of a medieval kingdom, each one is made of rusty iron bars and heavy stone bricks, and almost all of the people in them are scrawny and blind-eyed. Sensing their coming, they trembled and shrunk together like the most timid rat meeting the most ferocious snake, not daring to make a sound.
And at the end of this, there is a heavy iron gate.
"Turn it on." The old man said slowly, and the guards beside him took out a bunch of keys, opened the heavy lock on the door, and then pushed the door open with force.
"Blasphemer, we meet again." The old man smiled slightly, and it was almost the only expression he had shown along the way.
"Father, what is the matter with you coming here this time?" The man moved his wrist slightly bound by the heavy chains, and there was an unconcealable vicissitudes in his voice, "Mockery? Or is it to show off? β
"Neither, but I want to ask you a question." Slowly leaning closer, the priest asked softly, "Can you imagine a world ruled by God?" β
"You want to build a utopia, Father." Sighing softly, he took out a few books from the pile of books beside him, and made his own evaluation: "Utopian society is essentially good, but it is because there are too many people like you in this world, who have frightening selfishness and want to conquer the whole world, that utopian society is no longer acceptable." β
"So what?" The priest slowly raised his hands, "Once everything in my ideal is established, it will be the brilliance of humanity. β
"Drawing lessons from utopias such as 1984 and Brave New World, forcibly stuffing happiness on others is not real happiness, and it is easy to go to the anti-human side, and the best way to do this is to give people the freedom of choice. Therefore, the best education should also allow people to understand the whole world as much as possible, get in touch with the minds of their predecessors, and then let them sit out and make choices for themselves, rather than the so-called "sleep education". This will ensure the vitality of society and prevent the emergence of other utopian problems. Looking up at the priest, he sighed to himself, and continued: "Your problem is that you want to interfere too much in everyone's mind, so the utopia you admire is the one that really needs to be defeated. β
"So what?" With a sneer, the priest looked at the "blasphemer" in front of him, his eyes were full of pity: "As you can see, this society, this whole world is corrupt. β
"People shout honesty and honesty while shouting low-carbon environmental protection, but they are corrupt and bribed behind their backs, but they still ignore the pathologies of nature for the sake of profit behind their backs; Everyone is lying and deceiving for their own benefit; Conflict and contradiction only need two people to exist forever, and no one can live without conflict with others for the rest of their lives - the world is constantly decaying, and no one knows what it will eventually become. β
"Since you can think of this, you should understand that it is rights that cause all this." The man's eyes suddenly flashed a little bright, "Abraham Lincoln once said, 'If you really want to judge a person's personality, then give him rights', looking at the world, it should not be difficult for you and me to find a point of view, power leads to corruption, absolute power leads to absolute corruption, and a centralized society is the highest field of this corruption - if you want me to say, you are just a fool with arrogance." You try to destroy the corruption of the whole world, but you don't know that you have become the greatest corruption. β
Looking at the accusations made by the man in front of him, the old man fell silent for the first time in a real sense, and he pondered, rubbing the man's words, and at a certain moment he was as quiet as a sculpture.
But soon the silence was broken by a low laughβlaughter could not encompass the whole of the terrible sound, it was laughter like the deafening roar of a wild beast coming out of its cage, a mockery of the blasphemous only by the most fanatical believers.
"You are using secular government to figure out God's mind?!"
Low laughter echoed from the cold underground prison, and it was hard to imagine that such an old man curled up in a wheelchair could let out such laughter.
"God disdains this, you blasphemer. Is that what the gods are so unbearable in your eyes? Do you think that God will seek money, sex, lust, power, or all other spiritual fulfillment, just like ordinary mortals? You couldn't be more wrong, blasphemer. The gods have never disdained this, and the purpose of his existence is to rule, to maintain the order of the whole world! He doesn't need anything else! β
Looking at the fanatical old man in front of him, the man's eyes showed a strong disappointment, and his lips like two fleshy insects snorted, and he said softly: "In this way, you might as well develop an AI, and the effect is no different." β
βAIοΌ How can that low-level inflexible thing fight against the gods? The priest snorted dismissively, "Gods, can unify everything and control everything. As in the past, the gods have created a world that is even higher than utopia! I ask you, can the regime do it with such ability? Can AI do this? β
"What you want to build is a utopia, Father, but I don't think it's going to exist." The man said firmly: "Everyone is selfish, hoping that they can have greater power, now assuming that there are unlimited resources to be exploited and used, do you think people will live a good life of peace and equality, of course the answer is no."
"First of all, it is impossible to have unlimited resources, even if there is, such a big condition, everyone wants to live better than others, which will lead to monopoly, and a few people who find unlimited resources will quietly hide this secret and take the resources for themselves, then they will be the biggest beneficiaries of the resources, then these guys will become the rulers who manage the people." Fingers gently rubbed the book in his hand, and his firm voice overshadowed the ridicule, "Either you have to get rid of those who might cause confusion in fetal life, early childhood, childhood, and even adolescence. How to get rid of it? Education does not achieve brainwashing, brainwashing does not achieve closure, closure does not achieve killing, and we must work education, teach that kind to death, and teach it not to achieve brainwashing. Isn't this a dark age that is 10,000 times more corrupt and cruel than the world is now?! β
"You seem to like reading books like '1984' or 'Brave New World,' and it seems like you're deeply affected by them." The priest chuckled and said, "Do you think there is anything wrong with such a society?" β
"Everybody lives a life that they think they are happy and shines for society, and it seems to be very harmonious and beautiful, which is certainly the highest society we should aspire to, but do you know why this kind of society makes everyone feel uneasy?" The man stretched out three fingers and gestured, "Because no one wants to live a pre-programmed life without any waves." That means that their spiritual home has long been artificially stripped away. If there is nothing but happiness in their world, they lose the qualification and meaning to feel happiness! No one wants to live in a collective and follow all collective beliefs, which means they can't even think rationally, they just go with the flow! And you know what's the most ironic? The irony is that rational thinking is what you admire, and now you are doing something that fundamentally wants to destroy it! β
"If I know that my life is set up and I can accept it, what is the difference between me and a robot? I don't even need a name, just a set of codes. Everything is aimed at the collective goal, and I have lost my personal freedom, the ability to think rationally and make decisions. But do you know what? Father Priest β The reason why civilization is civilization is that it should have a speculative heritage. A world without reason is an uncivilized world. β
"Could it be that harmony and beauty have now become the content to be overthrown?" The corner of the priest's mouth was a little mocking, "If this is the case, then it is obvious that the world today should be considered to be doing well!" β
"On the contrary, Father. If everyone had nothing but happiness in their world, they would not feel happiness. They will never grow old and die happily. That's because there's no comparison, and how do they know it's a feeling of happiness? If all the unfortunate feelings can be solved with medicine, what is not spiritual opium? β
"And what's even more ridiculous is that if the self disappears and there is only the collective, then what is the difference between us and ants? Assimilation in the collective, the magnification of consciousness in the collective, and the disappearance of the self in the collective, in fact, are mentioned in "The Rabble". β
"Any culture, in the name of efficiency or the dogma of a particular political or religious ideology, tries to standardize people and commit atrocities against biological instincts. This is also your problem, Father, that consistency is incompatible with freedom. Man should not be molded into an automatic machine, and if he becomes an automatic machine, the foundation of mental health is destroyed. β
"So what? Even if the God I was expecting ended up disappointing everyone, isn't it still a thousand, ten thousand times better than the world you speak of, and the low-level utopian society you speak of? The priest shook his head, "Isn't it enough, at least in this society, where all people are happy?" β
"Of course it's not enough, a person in the middle of a rabble behaves like swallowing a large dose of a powerful stimulant. They are victims of what I call 'herd poisoning' symptoms. Endless and extremely wonderful entertainment is used as a policy tool to keep people away from social realities and political situations. If you continue to indulge in it, you will eat it raw as a threat to the opium and freedom of the anesthetized people. Putting down the two heavy books, he continued: "Although on the surface you may feel that everything is happy and happy in Brave New World, in reality the people inside are indeed spiritual prisoners, forced to think, feel, and act as the state wishes. They still think they are free and do not know that they are victims. β
"Take off its splendid coat, how is it different from the Nazi kingdom ruled by Hitler, whom you despise?"
"It's really an interesting hypothesis, and we'll put it at the back when it comes to refuting you, it seems that you like Freudianism very much?" "The basic principle of this doctrine is spiritual determinism, which holds that everything that happens in nature and society has a cause, and that all human actions are determined by mental factors such as desires, motives, intentions," said the priest. Whereas the mental process itself is unconscious, and the conscious mental process is nothing more than some isolated, additional processes. Such a ridiculous statement, the one who utters it, should be burned at the stake. β
"Freudianism and utopianism are two completely opposite doctrines, which is why you hate them β the former holds that man is a desire-driven animal, and that man is essentially selfish, which is perfectly reflected in international affairs. When you go beyond the borders, you enter the international community in a state of anarchy, and in such an anarchic environment, the law is all waste paper, and the national interest is above it. β
Utopian thought, on the other hand, completely annihilates the selfishness of human beings, believing that they can work for the collective and have no selfish desires, just like machines. But unfortunately, the essence of human beings is selfish, and as long as human beings have desires one day, human beings are selfish, and utopia cannot be realized. β
"Let me tell you, a society like Brave New World, even though it is close to my thoughts, is still an inferior society." The priest slowly raised his hands, "The world is corrupting, this is the view that you and I share - history has proved for a long time that as long as humans rule the world, the ultimate fate will be rancid. β
"And this is the time when the gods come!" With supreme faith in his voice, he exclaimed: "Despite all the disappointment in the world, I knew in my youth that no one man, no matter how clever he is, even the most gifted genius, can change the whole world in the slightest. The capitalists squeeze every last bit of value out of each individual and then throw them away like garbage. The government acquiesces to all this, and the hypocritical politicians keep saying lies that they don't believe, and are in cahoots with the capitalists! β
"What can I resist in such a world? Even if you are a giant in mind, in the flesh, you are still a fragile human being! Almost roaring, the priest laughed, "But, you know what? The powerlessness I speak of is only for humanity itself! β
"Humans can't break the existing system, but the gods can do it!"
"God exists to amend, to make all people abandon all the original systems! The emperor of the world cannot stand against the supreme gods! Just because you can't imagine it doesn't mean God can't do it. The sneer on the corner of his mouth was full of mockery, and the priest smiled: "Everyone has their own emotions in the world that God is going to build, but the connection between God and them is a hundred times stronger than the brave new world!" This is the highest society in the true sense! β
"And now, the Son of God is about to be born, and in order to make his birth even more brilliant, I have decided to awaken the 'monster' that you let go." The guards slowly pushed the priest away, leaving only the imprisoned blasphemer in his place, "Let's look forward to the duel between the two." β
"The Son of God was born to kill two poisonous snakes, you underestimate the monster you created."
Looking at the distant back, he sighed slowly and stopped speaking.
