Chapter 106: The Foundation of the Holy Dao

"You dare to stop me from inspecting the examination room!" Inspector Geng said sharply.

"No, I'm afraid that the two boys will be rude and annoy you, Hanlin. After all, your son died at the hands of my Jingguo people, and we Jingguo can't make you unhappy anymore! I will personally go down to check on the two children's lives, and you will supervise them!"

Feng Zimo finished speaking seriously, took Fang Yun's bookcase, slowly took out the things, and put them on the desk for Inspector Geng to see.

Fang Yun didn't say a word, but he knew in his heart that Inspector Geng wanted to use two children to destroy his four treasures in the study.

"If I am provoked, I will definitely fail this government exam. I'm afraid this is just the beginning, in the past three days, he will continue to harm me in this way! I must find a way to make him not act rashly!" Fang Yun kept thinking in his heart.

After Feng Zimo laid out all of Fang Yun's things, he smiled and said, "Master Geng, do you think there is anything missing?"

"Hmph!" Inspector Geng stared at Fang Yun, not knowing what Lu Dao was thinking.

Fang Yun suddenly said to Feng Zimo: "Lord Feng, I don't rub sand in my eyes. This examination is very important to me, and if anyone dares to ruin my future, I will definitely ask the Holy Judge to administer justice. ”

Feng Zimo immediately said: "During the imperial examination, if you encounter injustice or injustice, everyone can ask for a holy judgment, and you are naturally no exception!"

"You ......" Inspector Geng was so angry that he couldn't speak because of Fang Yun and Feng Zimo's singing, once he asked for a holy judgment, things would become out of control, and it was not the result he wanted to see.

Others don't dare to ask for a holy judgment casually, but since Fang Yun has asked for a holy election once, he is not afraid at all.

"Hmph!" Inspector Geng snorted coldly and walked away.

Feng Zimo glanced at Fang Yun and left, while untying the two errand servants.

Fang Yun knew that Inspector Geng would not embarrass himself in the exam. Smiling slightly, he sat back in his chair and began to tidy up the four treasures of the study on his desk to prepare for the next exam.

There are three subjects in the government examination, among which the holy words and poems are exactly the same as the county examination, and the third subject is the scriptures, which are not tested in the county examination.

There are 30 papers in the county examination, and 100 in the government examination, especially the last 10 pages of the question, which basically require a large paragraph or even the entire text to be written silently. It often takes nearly 100 blank pages to complete, which means that the government examination requires nearly 200 pages of test papers.

Generally speaking, it takes nearly two days to complete the test of the holy words of the government examination, and then the poems and scriptures are examined.

After a short time, the ox cart that handed out the test papers came. The curler put the two stacks of paper on Fang Yun's table.

One stack is the test paper, and the other is the white paper used for dictation.

Fang Yun looked at the two thick stacks of paper. I was speechless for a while. I thought that this is probably the most crazy after the end, once I am admitted to Xiucai, I will no longer have to face boring and tricky holy words.

Fang Yun habitually flipped through the test paper of the hundred chapters of the Holy Word, and finally took the first page and began to answer the questions.

The first question of the Word is a very simple fill-in-the-blank question, and it is the beginning of the Analects.

Zi said: Learn and learn. There is a blank in the back, and Fang Yun immediately put pen to paper: There are friends from afar, and they are happy. People don't know and don't get frustrated. Not a gentleman.

In the process of answering the questions, Qishu Tiandi did not move, and Fang Yun did not use the strength of Qishu Tiandi, and purely relied on his own memory and understanding to answer the questions.

Fang Yun had memorized all the original works of the saints.

Soon, Fang Yun encountered an extremely tricky and strange question, when had He Yunxiang, the half-saint of the Martial Kingdom, been to Mingnan Mountain.

Fang Yun searched his intestines and scraped his stomach and found that He Yunxiang had gone to Mingnanshan four times, and the three times had clear records, and they only needed to be written directly, but the second of the four times he went to Mingnanshan did not have any record of the time.

Fang Yun thought carefully and searched for all the works related to He Yunxiang's second visit to Mingnanshan, and finally found only a long ancient style poem and a memory of He Yunxiang.

The long ancient poem is called "Yuenan Mountain", which was written by He Yunxiang when he ascended to Nanshan at the age of nineteen.

"This poem is necessarily the key. ”

Fang Yun recalled He Yunxiang's long poem, and soon found that a poem was very interesting.

The strong wind cut half the moon.

Fang Yun thought to himself: "A very important premise of poetry is 'Jing Zhen', although He Yunxiang was young at the time, he would not write nonsense. The phases of the moon change with the time of day, such as the new moon, full moon, waning moon, and so on. When the moon phase is the first or last quarter moon, the moon is only half left, as if it has been split by a knife, in line with the sentence 'strong wind cuts half of the moon', and no other moon phases are possible. The 7th and 8th of the month are the first quarter months, while the 22nd and 23rd are the second quarter months. ”

That is to say, it is uncertain in what month He Yunxiang will go to Mingnanshan, but it must be on one of the four days of the seventh, eighth, twenty-second and twenty-third days of a certain month. ”

"There is also a line in this ancient poem, 'Ice wheel appeared last night', and the ice wheel is another name for the moon. The moon rises between 11 o'clock at night and 1 a.m., which is the second half of the moon. Because the moon rises very early in the first half of the month, it is absolutely impossible to 'see an ice wheel at the time of last night', so the seventh and eighth days of the first lunar month can be ruled out. ”

"However, this is not enough, it is necessary to judge what month it is. There is also a sentence in this poem: 'The yellow dog is lying in the flowers'. He Yunxiang's writings do not mention what a yellow dog is, but a travelogue by another semi-saint Li Daoyuan mentions the yellow dog, saying that there is a small yellow worm in Hezhou that the locals call the yellow dog. ”

"Yellow dogs love chrysanthemum, while Hezhou chrysanthemum only blooms in August and September. It is now certain that the poem was written in August or September. And He Yunxiang wrote a sentence in his memories: After crossing the Xu River, the water is not up to the knees, and the Xu River is at the foot of the Mingnan Mountain. According to Li Daoyuan's "Notes on the Book of Water", the Xu River only has a dry season between September and December every year, when the water level can be lowered to the knee-length level. It is thus certain that the poem was written in September. ”

After a complex analysis, Fang Yun quoted scriptures and classics to answer this question.

"This question involves astronomy, geography, hydrology, plants, animals, poetry, and so on, and I can guarantee that ordinary Jinshi will not be able to answer it correctly!

Fang Yun kept writing, and at noon, the messenger of the Literary Academy brought food. The prefectural examination takes three days, and the food brought by the candidates may be spoiled, so the Liberal Arts Institute provides three meals for tens of thousands of candidates.

After lunch, Fang Yun continued to answer the questions, and did not finish the first ninety pages until dinner, and the last ten pages were all questions that he memorized silently, and Fang Yun left them alone.

After dinner, Fang Yun examined the first ninety pages of the Word.

When he was inspecting the holy words, the strange book world moved, and began to appear like when Fang Yun took the county exam, and the correct answers in golden characters appeared.

Relying on the world of strange books, Fang Yun quickly checked the ninety pages of the Holy Sayings, and found that he had misremembered two questions, and three questions had not been answered completely, ignoring some details in the holy scriptures.

Fang Yun corrected the wrong questions and began to write the questions on the last ten pages until twelve o'clock in the evening, when Fang Yun lay down on the simple bed in the examination room and went to sleep.

At six o'clock in the morning on the second day of the sixth lunar month, Fang Yun woke up like many candidates, either waiting for breakfast or continuing to answer questions.

At noon, Fang Yun had finished answering all the prayers, and when the ink was dry, he received one, and then sat down to rest while waiting for the other two subjects.

In the evening, the first subject of the Holy Word was asked, but the errand officer did not take away the test paper of the Holy Word, but directly sent the examination questions of the first subject of poetry.

This year's poems have three propositions, and they are more specific than the county exam, which require writing weapons, rivers and one of the Confucian saints, as long as one poem is written.

Fang Yun pondered for a moment, because the real focus of the government examination was the third subject of the scriptures, and the students' understanding of the scriptures of the saints could not waste too much time on poetry, so he wrote a poem:

The shore is wide and the waves are slim, and the danger alone is long. Xiao Xiao is far away from the sparse forest, and half of the autumn mountains have sunset.

Poetry is completed, talent appears, and it is only a little short of reaching the house.

After finishing writing, Fang Yun did not waste time, because he had to go all out for the next scriptures, so he continued to close his eyes and silently memorize the holy scriptures.

Whether it is the ranking of Xiucai, Juren or Jinshi, the order is arranged according to the scriptures.

If one person's prayers, poems, and scriptures are of the first, first, and second classes, while the other is the third, c, and first class, then the latter will surely win the championship.

Poetry is the strongest help of the Holy Dao, but it is not the foundation of the Holy Dao, the scriptures are the foundation of the Holy Dao, even the disciples of Confucius have to often make the scriptures.

However, the scriptures are not like the holy words or poems that can be used directly, and the scriptures must be written by themselves, because the scriptures are their own understanding of the holy scriptures and the holy way.

Fang Yun spent most of his time on the scriptures before, because he knew that he could learn the scriptures and meanings in the world of strange books, and he could even cite some of them like writing papers in later generations, but he could never completely copy them.

As long as the scriptures and righteousness are done well, the foundation of the holy way can be eternal, and the foundation of the holy way will be eternal, and there will be an opportunity to be canonized. Therefore, even if the Great Confucian Yi knows the world, even if he does not understand poetry, he is still the head of the four great talents of the previous generation, and he is also the most likely person to be canonized among the Great Confucians.

In the early morning of the third day of the sixth lunar month, the Academy of Arts opened the third subject, Jingyi.

With the phrases in the holy scriptures as the title, the literati expounded the righteousness contained in them, which is the meaning of the scriptures.

Unlike the two subjects of Sacred Words and Poetry, no one gave out the test papers before the examination began, and all the candidates stood straight behind their desks, looking in the direction of the temple.

In a short time, the whole literary courtyard shook slightly, and everything seemed to form a strange resonance, and an indescribable voice appeared, no one could describe the distance, size, or other aspects of the sound, it seemed to be a strange sound that reached the soul. (To be continued......)
