Chapter 7: The Man Is Gone
When the floodgates of memory are opened, the forgotten details come back to mind. Whether I admit it or not, this broken phone makes me feel very familiar in terms of appearance and feel, after all, it is something that has been used for a long time.
However, I have completely ignored how the phone was lost, and I have no way of knowing how this broken phone ran to Baklang and ran to the Changchun wooden coffin.
The information on the phone was deleted, including call logs, as well as text messages. But I found a photo in the photo album of my phone, and this photo is probably the only information left in the entire phone.
The time and place of the photo is unknown, but it was taken at the dinner table. According to my analysis, this should be a candid photo.
In this photo, three people, a man and two women, are eating around a pot of boiled fish. The man was estimated to be about thirty years old, with a swarthy face and a short, dense beard.
The woman on the opposite side on the left was very young, probably in her twenties at most, with big, cute eyes. The woman on the right is a little older, about twenty-six or seventeen years old, and her posture with chopsticks is very particular, and she looks like a cold royal sister.
I stared at this photo for a long time, thinking about it as I looked at it, but I couldn't remember if I had taken this picture secretly before, and I didn't think I would do such a boring thing. The only thing that is certain now is that I don't know these two people, and I haven't even met them.
Except for this photo, the phone was completely empty, all the information was deleted, I checked back and forth several times, and it was indeed empty.
Longevity box, one-eyed monkey, ear ...... I can't figure out what the connection between these things is, but they appear in my life one after another and in a very orderly manner, I can't find a clue, I can't find a clue, I look at the broken phone in my hand, my head is about to explode.
To be honest, I don't really have any clues, but I understand very well that everything is triggered by that longevity box, which is something left by Old Man Liu two years ago, and I think that unless I find Old Man Liu, I may be able to get some answers I want to know.
The most important thing is that I don't believe that Old Man Liu is dead now, although he has done a funeral and buried two years ago, but I feel more and more that Old Man Liu should still be alive, after all, he used this longevity box to "borrow" my father's life.
Traveling back and forth from Huayang to Baklang, I wasted a lot of time and was physically and mentally exhausted, so I put these messes aside for the time being, and wanted to get a good night's sleep and recuperate.
I started sleeping at about 8 o'clock in the evening, and I slept very deeply because I was tired. I don't know how long I slept, but I woke up, and I woke up very inexplicably.
It was probably late at night, and it was very quiet in the bedroom, but when I woke up, my forehead was sweating, and an unspeakable horror rose in my heart.
I felt as if I was alone in this quiet bedroom.
This feeling was very strong, and it was irrepressible as soon as it appeared, and before I could sit up, I glanced at it, and immediately saw that there was really a figure next to the bed.
The light was not very bright, and the figure crouched beside the bed, raising its head slightly, as if looking at me. I can tell that this group of figures is the one I haven't found after two years of searching, Old Man Liu.
In fact, I didn't often go back to my hometown in the countryside before, and I wasn't familiar with Old Man Liu, but it was the "borrowing life" incident two years ago that deepened my impression of him. I won't be mistaken, the one squatting next to my bed is Old Man Liu.
Old man Liu raised his head, and there was an expression on his face that seemed to be crying and laughing. In the middle of the night, there was suddenly an extra person next to the bed, and with such an expression, it was creepy.
Before I could make any moves, my eyes suddenly turned, and my heart was about to pop out of my throat.
Beside Old Man Liu, there was also a black shadow, which was motionless, almost blending in with the dim environment, and if you didn't distinguish it carefully, you might miss the past.
At this moment, a bright moonlight was projected from the window, and through the illumination of the moonlight, I suddenly saw that this figure hidden in the darkness was a monkey covered with brown hair.
The one-eyed monkey, the one-eyed monkey of Baklang!
I was immediately pushed to the brink of collapse, I remember very well, the one-eyed monkey had been burned to ashes, how could it appear in the interior thousands of miles away from Bakrang, by the bed in my bedroom!?
I was really frightened, and without thinking about it, I kicked over, probably with too much force, and with this kick, the whole person rolled over from the bed and sat up.
The dream woke up immediately, and I gasped slightly, and looked to the side of the bed with palpitations. The light was still dim, but by the time I woke up, there was nothing left beside my bed.
At this time, I don't know whether to be nervous or relaxed. I kept reassuring myself that it was just a dream, a nightmare at best, nothing more.
That's how I console myself, but it's not that simple. In the next two days, my spirit began to be in a trance, whether in my sleep or when I was conscious, I would always have irregular and uninterrupted hallucinations, this house seemed to be full of old man Liu and monkeys, behind the door, bathroom, wardrobe, under the bed...... At least a dozen times I have seen Old Man Liu and the one-eyed monkey hiding in a corner.
This mental stress is difficult to express and can be very irritating because it is never known what the cause of the hallucinations is.
Old man Liu and the one-eyed monkey have become a nightmare that I can't get rid of, and I have been doing this for a week, my biological clock is seriously disturbed, and the psychological pressure is getting bigger and bigger.
I don't believe that I will keep "seeing" Old Man Liu and the one-eyed monkey for no reason, and there must be a reason for this.
But I don't have any other clues, I don't know where to start. A week later, I drove back to my hometown. It's been two years, I've looked for Old Man Liu countless times, but I haven't found anything, however, I still don't give up, especially since so many things have happened recently, which makes me sleepless, and I still want to try my luck. I can't think of anyone other than Old Man Liu who can explain these things to me.
I drove the car and circled around my hometown, and as I had done countless times in the past, to no avail. Finally, I went to the village cemetery. My father is buried here, and I want to see him.
The cemetery in the village is usually deserted, but when I walked to the edge of the cemetery, I saw a man sitting in front of my father's grave. Because of the distance, I couldn't see who the other party was, but my heart was not steady, so I quickened my pace and walked over.
When I got closer, I recognized that it was the silly sea of the village sitting on my father's grave. I'm not familiar with Silly Hai either, but I remember that when my father just died, Silly Hai once brought me a few words.
When I walked up to Silly Sea, I was a little surprised, this thing was unkempt and covered in mud, and it looked like it had been here in the graveyard for some time.
"Silly sea?"
"Ah!!h Silly Hai dragged two buckets of snot, and stood up with a pout, his mind was not clear, and he couldn't speak when he was nervous, and his two hands were gesturing randomly.
"If you have anything to say, say it slowly, say it slowly."
"People...... The person is gone...... "Silly Hai turned around and pointed to his father's grave: "No ......"
"Who's gone?"
"Jean took away ......"
"Who took it away!?" I was dizzy for a while, although Silly Hai didn't express it very clearly, but looking at his gesture at the moment, I immediately woke up, the person he said was gone, he meant that the father in the grave was gone.
Silly Hai was obviously a little impatient, probably because he couldn't express what he wanted to express, he grabbed his hair, turned around and pulled in the messy pile of torn clothes and leftover food behind, and after pulling for a while, Silly Hai pulled out a mobile phone.
"Look...... You see......"
The phone is brand new, and Silly Hai can't tell where this phone came from, but when I saw this phone, I knew that there was some information stored in the phone.
I hurriedly browsed it, and sure enough, there was a video in this brand new phone. Needless to say, this video must have been deliberately wanted for me to see.
The video wasn't long, and after I watched it once, my mind stopped.
For me, the picture carried by this video is a hundred times more evil than the longevity box, the one-eyed monkey, and the old man Liu.
