Chapter 164: Don't Interfere
"I do have two wands, but why give them to you?"
Elena asked with a frown, pulling out a pair of wands from her coat pocket.
"What do you think magic is? Muggle juggling that can be accurately unleashed by waving a wand in the air a few times and reciting a few incantations casually. The basic theory, the practice of swinging the cane, the tone of the spell, and even your mood and thoughts, as a beginner, even the slightest mistake can produce a completely different spell effect. β
Gellert Grindelwald glanced at Elena and spread his hands, "Do you want me to teach you magic with my hands empty-handed, purely by verbal descriptions?"
"Actually, I think it's not impossible to ......"
Facing the withered palm of Grindelwald's outstretched hand directly in front of her, the girl hesitated for a few seconds, then said tentatively, thinking about putting one of the wands back in her pocket.
"Huh?!" Grindelwald raised an eyebrow.
Without waiting for the old man to speak, Elena shook her head seriously.
"I've thought about it for a while, and I'm not going to give it to you for now. Anyway, it's the most basic spell, and according to your strength, you should be able to explain it clearly even if you don't have a wand. β
Although there are all indications that Grindelwald, who has been imprisoned in Newmengard Castle, is actually very dangerous, there is no desire to take the wand and escape from the castle to make a comeback, and his personality has obviously become much more accommodating and easy-going than it once was.
But for now, at least, Elena's mind that studying magic alone wasn't enough for her to put her wand in Grindelwald's hands - the foundation of trust between the two was built entirely on food and Dumbledore's middleman.
Not to mention from the perspective of her own safety, rashly handing her wand to the original Dark Lord who she had just beaten not long ago would make the Dark Lord who caused her to be annoyed and angry in the next moment be hung up and beaten by magic.
Even the little friction that happened between the two of them aside, Elena was reluctant to give her wand to outsiders - who knows if Grindelwald would have any strange fetishes, such as licking his wand before casting a spell?
Of course, the most important thing is -
"That's right, Professor Dumbledore probably didn't tell you. My wand is so special that no one can use it but me, so even if it is given to you, you will not be able to control it. β
This was also discovered by accident when Elena was playing with Hermione and Hannah in Hogwarts Castle not long ago.
Perhaps because of the use of a special wand core, there was little way for any wizard other than Elena herself to cast spells properly with her wand.
In Hannah Abbott's words, when she picked up Elena's wand and tried to cast a spell, poor little Hannah almost thought she had become a Muggle with no magical powers. And the same applies to Hermione, and there is no doubt that if you use the words of the previous life online article, it is that Elena's wand is a confession.
"A special wand that is difficult to control? There is no such thing as a wand in this world that I cannot control. β
Looking at the wary white-haired dumpling, Grindelwald's gaze swept over the ordinary wand in the girl's hand, and a hint of sarcasm appeared on his face, and he shrugged his shoulders disapprerovingly.
As a student at Hogwarts, Elena naturally bought her wand at the "Ollivander Wandshop" in Diagon Lane, London. As far as Grindelwald knew, the wandmaker who had pioneered a new theory of wandology had been trying to make all wizards look like how unique his wand was, and how different Ollivander's wand was.
But in Grindelwald's view, the so-called difference is nothing more than a different form of mediocrity.
Seeing Elena's resolute attitude, Grindelwald did not continue to insist on asking for the wand and waved his hand.
"If you don't want to, forget it, there's no need to make up these flawed excuses. I can understand, after all, as a young wizard who hasn't set foot in the wizarding world yet, even a broken wooden stick that glows can be your closest companion - rest assured, I can't look down on your poor little wand. β??
??β Hehe......"
Elena glanced at Grindelwald, who felt good about herself, and rolled her eyes silently, isn't it that she used to use the Elder Wand, what is there to worry about.
Whether in terms of shape, feel, depreciation rate or practicality, that elderberry wand that has been touched by an unknown number of people is simply far worse than her beloved black walnut wand.
The light in the room wasn't too good, so Grindelwald didn't notice the subtle little expression on the girl's face.
"Of course, you're not wrong. With your talent and intelligence, you should be able to master just some of the most basic magical knowledge, even if you don't have a demonstration and spend a little more time. β
Sensing that the rhythm of the conversation was back in his control, Grindelwald nodded with satisfaction, and did not continue to dwell on the issue of the wand, paused, and after a few seconds of contemplation, the old man changed his mind.
"Between learning magic, though, there are some things I need to explain in advance. It stands to reason that you Hogwarts professors should tell you about these things, but now it seems that I have to do it for you. β
Grindelwald's tone sank slightly, and he was very serious, without the sense of banter that he had before, raised his head, his gaze stayed on the girl's blue eyes, and continued with a little seriousness.
"Magic is a precious talent that wizards are born with. However, in the earliest days, most wizards were unable to effectively use this talent of their own, and it was not until successive wizards burned their lives and time to summarize those chaotic and scattered magical phenomena into specific pronunciations and gesturesβthe so-called magic spellsβthat the wizarding world truly became a sustainable world. β
Infected by Grindelwald's change in attitude, Elena couldn't help but rein in her careful thoughts wandering around, sat up a little upright, and watched the original Dark Lord in front of her give a pre-class speech.
??β For Albus's sake, and for your gifts, I can teach you about magic, including all the spells, history, words, and so on that you can learn at Hogwarts, but I have three requirements. β
"Well, what a request, you ...... first," Elena subconsciously interjected.
"First!"
Before the girl could finish, Grindelwald narrowed his eyes, raised his index finger, and raised his voice to interrupt, "Don't interject while I'm lecturing and talking, until you become a learned wizard who can communicate on an equal footing that I recognize." β
"Second ......"
