Freljord is a harsh, harsh and unforgiving land. The people here are all proud and independent. All of them were born samurai, and the bandit culture has a long history. Although there are many different clans in Freljord, the conflict between them is divided into three camps, and the outcome of this civil war will determine the future of all clans. One camp is unwavering in its adversity to the traditions necessary to survive the odds, another follows the dream of unity, as one young idealist put it, and the third falls to its knees under the powerful magic of a mysterious witch.

"One tribe, one people, one Freljord. ”

~Ice Shooter

As the warmother of the Avarosa tribe, the icy Ash leads the most numerous tribes in the north. Self-denying, wise, and true to her ideals, but not adapted to her role as a leader, Ash connects with the ancestral magic in her vein, wielding the longbow made of Zhen Bing. Her people believe that she is the reincarnation of the mythical heroine Avarosa, and with the followers of the people, Ash hopes to reclaim the ancient territories that belonged to the clan and thus unite Freeljord once again.

Ash hails from Freljord in the north, where tribal raids and clan wars are as much a part of the land as the cold winds of the cry sign and the unmelting ice.

Glenna, the matriarch of the small tribe of Avarosa, has only one daughter, Ash, an Ice Descendant destined to be a warrior, born with an ancient magical connection to the land, and possessed the rare power to use Ice. Everyone thinks that Ash will succeed her mother and become the next leader of the tribe. However, Ash never longed for that kind of glory. The cold responsibilities of the bloodline of war and the extraordinary talent of the war made Ash feel isolated, burdened, and lonely.

Her only solace was Sejuani, a little Ice-born girl from her sister tribe who came with her tribe every year to spend the summer hunting around the Ornkar Rocks. The friendship between the two little girls was all they had in their childhood memories, but it came to an abrupt end after they were ten years old. Somehow, Glenna angered Sejuani's grandmother, and the friendship between their tribes came to an abrupt end.

Soon after, Ash's mother, knowing that her youth was dying, began her lifelong quest for the "throne of Avarosa", which should be a collection of treasures and magical items that she hoped would use to revitalize her people.

But Glenna's belief in prophecy and legend led her to take risks, often bringing the tribe to its knees. Eventually, during a dangerous and unnecessary raid on other tribes' territory, Glenna was killed. Her sudden death sent young Ash on the run, and most of her people were wiped out.

Ash followed her mother's last map to a deserted glacier, where she was supposed to find Avarosa's grave and her Ice Magic Bow. Ash used that weapon to complete her mother's revenge and set out to head west.

Whether out of duty or loneliness, Ash has made a name for himself by protecting many of the scattered Furnace tribes along the way. Instead of treating them as slaves, she chose to accept those who were desperate as full-fledged members of her new tribe. Soon, many people began to believe that she was not only holding Avarosa's weapon - but that she was the reincarnation of Avarosa herself, destined to unite Freeljord again.

But the tale could not feed the bellies of her followers, and the tribe was on the verge of famine during their long journey south. Ash then used the legend about himself to forge an alliance with the powerful and wealthy southern tribes, promising to unite them into a powerful nation, strong enough to challenge its neighbors.

The new covenant also brought new dangers, and Ash soon found himself at the center of a political struggle. The War Mother, the leader of the Freljord tribe, is supposed to talk about marriage, but choosing a husband from any major tribe will anger the other tribes. Ash can choose multiple husbands, but that will only bring a boiling conflict into her account, and the ensuing bloody battle will only crumble her hard-earned alliance.

Her answer is a tramp - the warrior Tydamir. He had nothing, and his mountain clan was almost wiped out. He was neither an Beast Walker nor endowed with elemental powers, but since his first day in Ash's new capital, Tydamir had fought in every dueling arena he could find. He fought in a desperate way, desperate to prove that the survivors of his clan deserved to be accepted by the strongest tribes, even if they were destitute. But even by Freljord's standards, his brutal tactics and extraordinary physical strength were enough to be unsettling, and many suspected that he was infected with dark magic. Ash doesn't care about this, and she offers to accept his people, but only if he becomes her first and only blood alliance.

Tedamir reluctantly accepted. Although it was a political marriage, they could clearly feel attracted to each other, and a real love gradually developed between them.

Today, Ash leads the largest tribal alliance in Freljord's generations. Even so, this hard-won unity and peace is under threat: internal intrigues, foreign powers, the violent rise of Winterclaws, and a fate that she herself at least pretends to believe......
