What is "Peach Blossom Fan"? It is a legend of the dramatist Kong Shangren in the early years of the Qing Dynasty. Legend is an important form of drama in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and the famous "Peony Pavilion" is a legend. This legend is about the ups and downs of the Southern Ming Dynasty, and the hero is also a real person, and he is also a great literati in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, called Hou Fangyu.
Hou Fangyu, the word Chaozong, a native of Shangqiu, Henan, is one of the famous "Four Sons of the Late Ming Dynasty". Young and young adults have traveled to the south of the Yangtze River, made friends and associations in Nanjing, Hangzhou and other places, sang poems and sang, and the literary name was broadcast early, and he was indeed very talented, and was considered by later generations to be one of the "three masters of ancient literature" in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and he was a typical Jiangnan literati. Before he reached middle age, the Ming Dynasty died, and he had experienced wars and political disputes, and he had a great sense of justice.
At that time, the Southern Ming Dynasty was originally a tile land, if the monarch and the soldiers were united, they could still resist, but the emperor believed in the traitorous party, Ma Shiying and Ruan Dacheng caused chaos in the country, and the two also wanted to recruit Hou Fangyu, because he himself had a high literary reputation, and his father was a big official in the imperial court, and Hou Fangyu also wrote a famous article "Book with Ruan Guanglu" to refute their ugly faces.
Later, Nan Ming also died, Hou Fangyu lived in seclusion in the countryside, unwilling to go out of the new dynasty, at that time there were a large number of such literati, at that time Hou Fangyu and Wu Weiye agreed, never out of the Qing Dynasty to maintain the Ming relics, even as a Han people's integrity and dignity.
But it backfired. When the Qing Dynasty first ruled the world, of course, it had to seek legitimacy for its own regime, and the literati were an indispensable part. Many literati were seduced, coerced, or willingly thrown themselves into the arms of foreign rulers. Hou Fangyu originally did not want to be a leader, but he had a great reputation, and the Qing Dynasty authorities must force him to be promoted, and the helpless Hou Fangyu could only respond.
In order to maintain his integrity, he actually handed in a white roll in the imperial examination room, which may be the earliest "white roll hero", but the Qing court still made a show and gave him the title of Zhongju, but throughout his life, Hou Fangyu did not be an official in the Qing Dynasty, and within a few years after that, this great writer died. A friend who once had a covenant of life and death, what about Wu Weiye? He is also a great poet, and his reputation has long been spread to the ears of the Qing Dynasty, and similarly, he was also forced out of office, he is different from his friend Hou Fangyu, Wu Weiye has really been an official in the Qing Dynasty for several years. The desire to survive, the expectation of integrity, and the shame of reluctance are all tormenting the poet. This covenant of life and death, Wu Weiye violated it in the end, he couldn't forgive himself when he resigned in his later years, and he always remembered the agreement with this friend, he wrote the following famous poem "Nostalgia and Hanging Hou Chaozong" when he missed Hou Fangyu and thought about the previous agreement:
Heluo is dusty, and his heart has been in Yimen for a hundred years.
The heroes of the city are full of wonders, and they instigate Gong'e to repay the old kindness.
I saw many people who were called guests, and a few people cut their necks to send Wang Sun.
Death and life are full of Hou Yingnuo, and he wants to drip pepper syrup and tears. Repentant life, it is emotional. ”
What is "Round Song"? It is a poem by Wu Weiye, a great poet in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The "Rushing to the Crown" mentioned earlier is the famous sentence in this long seven-word song. This poem is Wu Weiye's impression of current affairs, describing the love affair between Wu Sangui and Chen Yuanyuan, who is also one of the "Qin Huai Bayan", while lamenting their love, he also made a euphemistic satire on Wu Sangui's various behaviors.
In the end, Wu Sangui claimed to be the emperor and died, and Chen Yuanyuan committed suicide in the lotus pond in Kunming.
