Every time he went on a killing spree, he would leave some living mouth for them to pass on the message: he was not here to rule, but to survive. If you are qualified, you will survive.
The trial of survival has just begun.
Read the story of the dreadnought
He was a pioneer in a new era of technology, dedicating his life to the advancement of humanity. He was an idealist who sought enlightenment from human nature, believing that only glorious evolution could realize the full potential of human beings. Blessed with steel and science, Victor is fanatically pursuing his ideal bright future.
Born on the border of the middle class of Zaun, Victor was nurtured by his artisan parents and had a passion for invention and manufacturing. He devoted every waking minute to his studies and research, hating to have to sleep, eat or drink. What makes him even more annoying is that he is often forced to move because of various chemical leaks, accidental explosions, or alchemical gas erosion in Zaun. Leaving him behind his job, even for a moment, was like robbing him of his faith.
In order to bring better order and certainty to his world, Victor conducts extensive research on Zaun's accidents. He found that almost all accidents were caused by human error, not by the machinery itself. He approached nearby shops to invent new machinery and create a safer working environment. Most of the shops turned him down, but one - the Fredelson Alchemy Workshop - decided to give the honest young man a chance.
Victor's invention of an automated device reduced the accident rate in the workshop to zero in less than a month. Soon, other institutions began to buy his work. Soon, Victor's designs were all over Zaun, and each of his innovations eliminated human error in a process, thereby increasing productivity. Finally, at the age of nineteen, he was pleasantly surprised to receive an offer from the Academy of Science and Magic, a famous university in Zaun. However, Victor's work also caught the attention of Professor Steinwick of Piltover, who persuaded Victor to leave Zaun for Piltover's Academy. There, his working environment will be a state-of-the-art laboratory, and his research resources will be based on Picheng. Thrilled by the privilege of being recruited individually, Victor accepted the invitation and moved to live in Pitts, where he honed his craft and perfected his ideals to bring the benefits of progress to all.
Victor's colleagues were all Piltover's top think tanks, and among them was an incredible genius named Jace. The two are evenly matched in intelligence, but Victor is more methodical and logical in comparison, while Jace is flashy and blindly confident. The two often worked together, but never became true friends. Many times, the two of them would go toe-to-toe with each other in the process of invention, disagreeing on contradictory views of intuition and logic, but they gradually developed a respect for each other, because they saw in each other a flawed talent.
During Victor's further studies in Leather City, a large-scale alchemical material leak occurred in Zuan, which harmed Zu'an City, and Victor returned to his hometown to participate in the rescue operation. He implanted a series of cognitive learning loops on top of his existing automatronomic technology and built a custom-built robot, Britz, for scrap recycling. Britz has helped save dozens of lives, and has also shown a level of self-awareness that is far beyond Victor's vision.
Although the alchemy leak has been contained, Victor still chooses to stay in Zaun to help those who have been traumatized by the poison. With Britz's help, he tried to use the innovative methods of the Academy of Science and Magic to save those who were dying due to the leak. Their attempts were ultimately unsuccessful in preventing death from happening, and he and Blitz parted ways. Although Victor is discouraged by the misfortune of the inhabitants of Zaun, he has fully studied the technique of combining human anatomy with technological components, and has learned how ordinary bodies should be strengthened by technology.
A few weeks later, Victor returned to Piltover, where he found Professor Steinwick organizing an academic symposium on Britz, presenting in his own name the results of his research. Victor made a stern complaint to the academy's directors, emphasizing that Britz was his own design, but his overly radical rhetoric fell on deaf ears. He turned to Jace to testify for himself, but the colleague refused to speak, deepening the rift between the two. In the end, the outcome of the appeal gave Stanwyck the advantage.
Reluctant, but resigned, Victor returned to his studies, knowing that his ultimate goal had always been to bring happiness to humanity and enhance humanity. Whether the project is plagiarized or his self-esteem is hit, how can he give up? He persevered and constantly explored new ways to eliminate human errors and flaws in his design. His approach to research also dominates his way of thinking. He believed that human participation was a negative factor in any development process that affected efficiency – a view that led him to be resented by many of his peers and professors, who believed that what Victor wanted to eliminate was precisely the source of human ingenuity and creativity.
The flashpoint of the conflict comes on a reluctant collaborative project with Jace. They wanted to improve a diving suit specifically designed to clean up underwater wreckage and alchemical waste near the Phi Cheng Pier. Victor and Jace's enhanced wetsuits allow the wearer to dive deeper, stay longer, and lift heavier objects. But many divers said they had seen glowing apparitions of the dead underwater, or were tormented by the hallucinogenic effects of alchemical poisons. When divers experience this symptom, they panic and kill themselves or other divers. Victor believes that it is not a technical problem, but a mental breakdown of the diver in the darkness of deep water. He devised an alchemical helmet that could be guided by an operator on the surface, ignoring the diver's fear reactions, and was equivalent to taking complete control of the diver. Victor and Jace engage in a heated argument about free will and mental servitude, which leads to a violent argument that leads to a violent fight, and the two vow never to work together again.
Jace reported the incident to the academy's directors, and Victor was censored for violating basic human rights.
