It took 3 years to find a "feeling" for Hermes

Zhang Deming has been weaving bamboo for decades, and never imagined that one day he would be able to meet an international brand like Hermès, nor did he think that his works could be sold all over the world through the big window of Hermès.

In 2008, Hermes (China) purchasing department learned about Qingshen bamboo weaving through the Internet, and through the relevant departments of Qingshen County, they contacted a number of bamboo weaving masters in Qingshen, and through the comparison of bamboo weaving masters, they felt that Zhang Deming's style was the most right.

After the two sides reached an intention, Zhang Deming sent Master Zhang, the backbone of his workshop, to be stationed in Shanghai to compile bamboo weaving samples, so as to facilitate direct face-to-face communication with Hermès, and he echoed Master Zhang in Qingshen.

What style does Hermès like? Their request was very vague: you can just make it up, and we can see it.

Zhang Deming had a hunch at that time that this standard without standards was actually difficult to grasp. His hunch was right.

A year has passed, and Chef Zhang has become obsessed with Shanghai cuisine, but he still has not come up with a work that satisfies Hermès. Just a few days before Master Zhang was about to leave Shanghai, Zhang Deming, after thinking about it, proposed the idea of crossing two threads to weave. Master Zhang made a sample with this innovative weaving method of Zhang Deming, and the Hermes staff felt a little feeling, but they were not very satisfied. Bamboo silk should be fine after various treatments, is it that the environmentally friendly glue pasted is not suitable? In Qingshen, Zhang Deming is also doing experiments. After running through all the glue factories in Meishan, Zhang Deming finally found a glue in a glue factory in Chengdu to solve the problem.
