Chapter 142: Mountaineers
Cheng Zhong broke free from the woman's hand with some embarrassment, and raised his hand to introduce Burlali to her.
Ignoring Bellarie's hostility, the female gang leader greeted her with a smile.
"Oh, auntie, I've been talking for a long time, and I haven't asked your name yet?"
Cheng Zhong asked politely.
"'Fang Ming', 'Fang Ming', it's so good, it's so touching!
Imagine what language in the whole universe in the world can be compared to the wonderful Chinese!"
The female gang leader did not rush to answer Cheng Zhong's question, but commented on her native language mercilessly.
"Yes, yes, my aunt is right!
Indeed, only this wonderful language created by our wise ancestors can accurately express the delicate emotions of human beings.
Cheng Zhong didn't seem to be in a hurry, and followed the female helper to talk about his knowledge of his mother tongue with great interest.
"Haha, people from foreign lands, there are soulmates in other places, this feeling is really happy!"
The female gang said emotionally.
"Alone in a foreign land as a stranger,
Every time there is a good film, I miss my relatives. ”
These two ancient poems suddenly popped up in Cheng Zhong's mind, and he couldn't help but whisper.
"Brother Distant Knowledge,
There is one less person in the bamboo tree. ”
The woman Yan Yuying cried out the last two sentences, and couldn't help but feel sour in her heart, followed by a wave of sadness surging upward, tears like beads with broken threads, rolling down her cheeks.
"Oh, the people of my hometown, the language of my hometown, the poetry of my hometown, I thought that I would never meet, see, or listen to it in this life.
Thank you, little brother, I really don't know how to thank you!"
The woman said with a crying voice.
She gently dragged Cheng Zhong to her again, knelt down, put her head on Cheng Zhong's chest, and closed her eyes to feel the happiness that fell from the sky.
Cheng Zhong put his little hand on the woman's back, gently touched and patted it, and said:
"Auntie, I totally understand your feelings!
I think the two of us should report each other's names first, my name is Cheng Zhong, and I am the Longzhong Huining people. ”
I saw the woman slowly stand up, wipe her tears with her palm, and said a little embarrassed:
"My name is Li Muxian, I am from Longdong, and my hometown is in Tianshui. ”
"Oh mom, it's a real fellow, how did you come to this world?"
Cheng Zhong asked in surprise.
"It's hard to put into words!
It's more comfortable on the beach than in the tent these days, so let's sit back here and talk slowly!"
Li Muxian took his hand and said.
After that, the two men sat down side by side, facing the sea.
Brulari has been with Cheng Zhong for a while, so she also knows some simple Chinese.
Now, she has slowly figured out that the two seem to be from the same world.
She looked at Cheng Zhong's back and hesitated for a moment, and finally left with a sense of humor, leading the two horses in her hands, and looking for a place to give them water.
Li Muxian began to reminisce and narrate eloquently.
She is telling the story of a mountaineering team.
Her words brought Cheng Zhong back to the Himalayas, the roof of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and Mount Everest, the highest peak at 8,848 meters above sea level.
The ancients in our country loved mountaineering, and countless predecessors used their lives to challenge the limits of human beings and climbed countless uninhabited peaks.
Of course, the ancients also had a deeper understanding of the difficulties of survival at high altitudes.
Because the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau alone has incomparable mountain resources in the world.
Nine of the 14 peaks of more than 8,000 meters in the main world are located within the territory of our country and on its borders.
Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, is located on the border between China and Nepal.
There has been a dispute between the two sides over the ownership of Mount Everest.
After the liberation of China, the two sides held numerous negotiations on the demarcation of the border.
Our side proposed that the border line should be drawn at the summit of Mount Everest, but the other side believes that Mount Everest is completely within the territory of Nepal and has nothing to do with China's country.
"You Huaxia people have never boarded up, how can you say that you occupy this territory?"
During the negotiations, the Nepalese side raised such a rhetorical question in a "righteous and stern manner."
The reason for this question is that the Nepalese people were the first to climb Mount Everest.
On May 29, 1953, 39-year-old Nepalese guide Tenzing Nogai and Australian mountaineer Edmund Hillary climbed Mount Everest from the southern slope of Nepal, becoming the first team in history to successfully climb the summit.
At that time, Nepal was a vassal state of a large country, and both that country and my country were large developing countries.
Due to the very complex international environment, the principal leaders of our country want not to suffer losses in the demarcation of the territory, but also do not want to enter into a direct confrontation and conflict with this big country.
At that time, Europe, the most advanced mountaineering in the main world, European mountaineers, after countless attempts over the years, have never been able to reach the summit of Mount Everest from the north slope of our side, from which they announced a conclusion:
It is simply not possible to achieve a successful summit from the north slope.
After the Second World War, the world was largely divided into two camps.
In 1957, the Soviet side proposed for the first time that the two countries jointly send mountaineers to form a summit climbing team, first undergo rigorous training, and then march to Mount Everest two years later, so as to summit Mount Everest as a gift for the 10 th anniversary of the founding of the new government of our country.
But later, relations between the two countries broke down, and the Soviet Union canceled the arrangement to climb Mount Everest and withdrew the mountaineers and equipment.
At this time, whether or not China's mountaineering team can climb Mount Everest from the north slope with their own strength is not only the greatest challenge to the limits of mankind, but also contains important and rich international political significance.
In 1957, China, with a difficult economy, was very backward in its sports undertakings, and mountaineering was still blank.
At that time, Li Muxian, who was studying martial arts at the University of Physical Education, actively responded to the call of the country, and entered the national mountaineering team with patriotic enthusiasm and strict physical fitness tests.
Hundreds of mountaineers, led by team leader Shi Zhanchun, went deep into the ice and snow of the Himalayas and conducted rigorous training.
By March 1959, the Tibetan upper echelons had openly launched a rebellion, which caused many disturbances and damage to the summit of Mount Everest, and repeatedly postponed the summit plan.
In 1960, news came from the Chinese embassy in India that India had also organized a mountaineering team to prepare to summit Mount Everest from the southern slope.
This is undoubtedly an open challenge and competition for me.
In March of the same year, Li Muxian and other mountaineering team members, totaling 214 people, set out from Shigatse and arrived at the mountaineering base camp at an altitude of 5,120 meters above sea level.
Then they made three adaptive marches.
For the first time, we reached an altitude of 6,400 meters above sea level and turned back to the base camp.
The second time, it reaches an altitude of 7,600 meters above sea level and then returns.
The third time he climbed to an altitude of 8,300 meters above sea level, and established the highest camp, the main peak camp of the assault.
Most of the team members have been phased out, and only 55 members of the mountaineers who are in the best physical condition are left to participate in the third march, and Li Muxian is among them.
On April 29, just as the team members continued to move forward along the ridge of Mount Everest, a storm suddenly blew on the north col under a clear sky, and the wind howled, so that the team members had to crawl on the ground and hold each other's hands to avoid being blown away by the storm.
Li Muxian and a companion were in a depression with a small storm, trying to set up a tent for everyone to shelter from the wind.
She had just pulled open a corner of the tent when suddenly a gust of wind swept and was blown into the air along with the tent.
Li Muxian instinctively grasped the tent firmly with both hands, and his body floated towards the cliff completely involuntarily.
After struggling desperately, he hit his head on the ice and lost consciousness in an instant......
