Chapter 16: The Wishing Spirit
Tarta held a handful of old man's beard in her hand, and she kicked the water under her feet that had just reached the instep of her feet with some annoyance. What did the old man mean by that? Why is the little prince the person he is looking for, but not the other?
But at least it proves that the little prince is indeed on this planet. Thinking like this, Thorn Tower regained her strength, no matter what, she had to find the little prince!
There was a splash behind him, and the little blacksmith chased after him.
As they walked some way forward, the water suddenly deepened, and the shallow currents on the ground gradually converged.
The tower and the little blacksmith had no choice but to climb to the dry ground on one side and continue on their way. As the old man said, the water was shiny, as if fireflies had flown into the water.
After walking for a while, the road in front of them was blocked by piles of glass bottles. The glass bottle was originally floating in the water, but it ran aground in this place. One by one, the bottles slowly piled up into a mountain of glass bottles. If you look closely, you can see that the glass bottles are of different sizes and colors, and some of them are tied with beautiful lace straps, while others look a little shabby. But what is the same is that they all have a small note in the belly of their bottles.
Thorn Ta picked up a bottle from the water and opened it to look at it.
[I hope to get a new little sled!] γ
It seems that this is a wish made by a child from the north!
The little blacksmith also picked up a bottle from the water.
[Hope Oldelphi's proposal to Sophie fails!] γ
Oh, what a vicious wish!
Whatever the wish, it seems that these piled bottles have been here for a long time, blocking the way to the outside.
What about the elves mentioned by the prophet grandfather? The tower and the little blacksmith began to look around...
At this moment, a light came up behind a stone in the cave.
Snowball was the first to notice the light, and it jumped out of the tower's bag, ran behind the rocks, and screamed loudly.
"Help!" There was a faint shout from behind the stone.
"Snowball!" Thornta hurriedly ran over and picked up Snowball.
Behind the stone, a palm-sized elf with two pairs of transparent wings was lazily hiding behind. She was very cute, but her cheeks and nose were red, her eyes were half-open and half-closed, and her long eyelashes were drooping.
She flew up from behind the rock, her wings glowing like the water in the river. But soon she fell back on the stone.
Looking behind the tower, it turned out that there was still a wine bottle there, dripping with wine.
The elf flapped its wings a few times, and flew crookedly again. She stopped abruptly in front of the nose of the little blacksmith, who looked at her with both eyes almost together. The elf suddenly retracted his wings and fell in front of the little blacksmith, but fortunately the little blacksmith stretched out his hands in time and held her in his hands.
The tower hurriedly ran over, but fortunately, it seemed that the elf was just drunk and was sleeping in the palm of the little blacksmith's hand.
Tarta took off his little cloak and asked the little blacksmith to put the elf on his hat and get a good night's sleep. He and the little blacksmith could only stay by the elf's side, waiting for her to come to her senses.
I don't know how long I waited, the heads of the tower and the little blacksmith collided together, and the snowball screamed, and it turned out that before I knew it, the tower and the little blacksmith were asleep.
Thorn Ta rubbed her wistful eyes and woke up. The little blacksmith simply fell to the ground, took a comfortable position, and went back to sleep.
Thorn Tower looked at his cloak, and the elf was no longer there.
Snowball ran forward and screamed at the stone wall.
Wherever he went, he found that sure enough, the stone cave was glowing.
"Hello, my name is Thornta." Tarta said softly, because the elf was not the size of her palm, she was afraid that she would scare the elf too loudly.
The fluorescence in the cave was a little brighter, and Thorn Ta knew that the elf had taken a few steps forward, perhaps to hear the sound of Thorn Tower's voice clearly.
The tower crouched down and looked closer to the hole.
The elf in the cave was startled by her, and sat down in the cave, the fluorescence on its wings spilling on the ground.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." Tsunta said apologetically. "I'm from the outside world and accidentally fell here from a cave at the top of the mountain."
The elf climbed up, slowly walked to the entrance of the cave, and looked at the tower curiously.
"I wanted to go to the other side of the mountain, and the prophet told me that I could take a boat out from here."
Hearing Tsartha's words, the elf's wings suddenly drooped, and she sat down on the ground and began to cry. Her tears would also glow and fall to the ground, splashing with a fluorescent glow.
"What's wrong with you?" Tara didn't know how to comfort her.
The elf cried even more sadly, and she muttered something, but her voice was so low that the tower sounded like a mosquito.
The little blacksmith finally woke up, and he saw the tower talking to the glowing stone, so he rushed over as well.
The little blacksmith found that there were small holes in the stone wall of the place, and in each small hole there were small pieces of furniture or utensils. It seems that this is the home of the elves.
Worriedly, Tarta told the little blacksmith that the elf was so small that even if he approached her, he couldn't hear her clearly.
The little blacksmith thought for a moment and ran in the direction he had come.
After a while, the little blacksmith returned with a piece of parchment in his hand. It turned out that he ran to borrow a piece of paper from the prophet's grandfather, what was this going on?
Curiously, the tower looked at the little blacksmith. The elf finally stopped crying, and poked his head out of the cave curiously.
The little blacksmith just rolled the paper into the shape of a trumpet, and when he was ready, he put the trumpet made of paper next to the elf's cave.
The elf was so frightened that he hid again.
"Don't be afraid, we won't hurt you! It's just that your voice is too small for us to hear, what are you talking about. The little blacksmith explained gently.
The elf cautiously walked to the entrance of the cave again, hesitated for a moment, and said another word to the horn.
"I'm not afraid of you!"
Great, although the sound was still small, they could finally hear the elf's voice.
"Hello, elf." The tower and the blacksmith officially greeted the elves again.
"Hello!" The elf's voice was timid.
"Can you tell us why you're sad?" Thorn found a handkerchief from her pouch and handed it over to the corner.
The elf tugged at the corner of the handkerchief, wiped his tears, and blew his nose again.
"I'm the Wish-Making Elf, and my name is Vespa." The elf's voice sounded aggrieved. "I've been guarding this place with other wish-making elves, collecting wishes from far and wide and helping them make them come true. When the wish is granted, the joy in people's hearts and the belief in making a wish will light up the cave and let the spiritual power in the river continue to flow. I and the other elves rely on the magic of this river to survive..."
"And where are the other wishing spirits?" Tartar asked.
The elf cried sadly again, "But as time goes by, people make more and more wishes, but there are fewer and fewer people who really have faith. Even if the wish is granted, most of them are not as happy as they used to be, but thinking about bigger and more wishes! β
Watta glanced at the mountains of wish bottles piled up in the river, and it turned out that these were the wishes made by the people.
"There is no way for the magic in this river to survive so many elves, so my companions are leaving here one by one. In the end, I was the only one left here. The elf sat down at the entrance to the cave, his feet hanging out, still sobbing.
Looking at the sad elf, Thorn Tower also became sad, her big eyes were full of tears, and she finally couldn't help but cry out loud.
Both the blacksmith and the elf were so frightened by the tower that the elf forgot to cry herself. Looking at the crying and forgetful tower, I don't know what to do.
After crying for a long time, Tara finally stopped. The elf flapped her wings and flew in front of the tower, wiping her tears with the handkerchief that the tower handed her.
"What's wrong with you, Thorn Tower?" The little blacksmith asked puzzled.
"I know how sad it is for a person to be left behind." Tara whispered.
The elf slowly landed on the shoulder of the tower, and lowered its little head.
"In that case, why don't you leave with them?" The little blacksmith asked at the elf.
The elf opened its mouth and said something.
The little blacksmith suddenly remembered and raised the little horn he had just made to the elf.
"I love helping others make their wishes come true! Seeing others feel happy because their wishes have come true is the happiest thing I ever do! β
So that's the case, and Tsuta thought of the wishing bottle he had just picked up. Indeed, there are wishes that look cute and beautiful, and people are especially looking forward to their fulfillment. However, there are also some headache wishes.
"However, there are so many accumulated wishes that I don't have the ability to fulfill them all, so I have toβ" The elf's head hung lower.
"I think if you become unhappy, how can you achieve other people's wishes!" Tsunta said.
Something suddenly occurred to her, and she pulled the little blacksmith aside and discussed it in a low voice.
"Vespa, what is your wish? Let's make it happen for you! Thorn Tower and the little blacksmith smiled and gathered around the elf.
"My wish?" The elf looked around in confusion, her eyes falling on the pile of wishing bottles. "Let's help others make their wishes come true!"
Thorn Ta scratched her head, this wish seemed to be a little bigger.
"Are there any more achievable wishes?"
"I hope to get back together with my friends."
"Hmm..."This wish may not be fulfilled with the power of the tower and the little blacksmith. The smiles of the two of them grew stiffer.
"Anything else?"
"Also, I want to go to a prom!"
"Prom?"
"Yes, a lot of people's wishes are related to the ball! For example, find a prom mate! There was a beautiful dress to go to the prom and so on. I'm curious to see what the prom is like! β
Thorn Tower and the little blacksmith looked at each other again, and they wanted to hold a dance party in the cave, was this possible?
