Chapter 080: Overinterpretation
"At the base, before you left, you told me that you were going to show me the sights of Paris." Scarlett gestured to the ground beneath her feet, then to the spire in the distance.
"Paris represents the destination of your trip, and when you say Paris, you mean the Eiffel Tower, isn't that what you are hinting at me?" Scarlett's eyes flushed slightly, and she asked with some distress.
Mawson opened his mouth, he really wanted to tell Scarlett, girl, you think too much, I'm just chatting before leaving...... But he chirped and chirped, and found that all this really can't be blamed for over-interpretation.
Reasoning along this line of thought is really tight.
After snatching the warhead, he just wants to get into the Arctic base as soon as possible, even if he wants to attract the attention of the special forces, but he will not be bored enough to let them obstruct him.
Well, it really seems that it is really just a coincidence, and Mawson reluctantly spit out, but when he thought about it, he realized that this was not an opportunity.
He walked up to Scarlett with his gun in hand, "Believe me, the general's business has nothing to do with me, I have to do this because I have no choice but to do it." Only then will I be able to enter the Arctic base and uproot the entire force! β
He reached out and slashed at the back of Scarlett's head, and said affectionately the moment she fainted, "I'm sorry Scarlett, I really hope I can come back alive and accompany you to explore the scenery of Paris." β
If Paris is still there, Mawson silently added in his heart.
He took up and down a few times and scurried up the suspension ladder, but as soon as he climbed onto the plane, before he could close the hatch, he saw a tattered figure rush out of the ruins below.
The man climbed up the nearby tall building with his hands and feet at a rapid pace, and then accelerated violently on the rooftop, crashing into the cabin like a cannonball!
But it was Duke, who had regained his mobility.
"Sure enough, he deserves to be the protagonist, and he always saves the world at a critical moment." Mawson sneered, but raised his pulse pistol and aimed it at Duke's figure.
"This height has fallen, I hope the armor on your body is strong enough." After saying that, he pulled the trigger mercilessly.
Airplanes!
A ripple flashed in the sky, and Duke's forward momentum stalled slightly, and then fell headlong like a kite with a broken string.
"No!"
A flash of struggle flashed across Anna's face, and she cried out in a little pain.
"As your fiancΓ©, I don't think Mr. McCarron wants to see him again." Mawson said slowly.
"Is this an order from The Macallan?" Anna asked, grimacing.
"You can understand it that way." Mawson did not hesitate to splash the sewage on McCarron, and after listening to his words, Anna stopped squeaking, found a corner where no one was around, and sat down.
At Mawson's feet, nanoworms are eroding the city at a terrible rate, and the entire map of Paris looks ugly and cruel as if it has been corroded by parasites.
Mawson opened the alloy box, took out the brake switch and pressed it, and not long after the command was sent, the nanoworms in the city died one after another, except for the ruined streets and the crying people, everything seemed to have happened.
"What are you doing?" Anna asked.
"Anyway, it's also the place where I used to live, so I have to leave some thoughts." He turned to look at the White Ghost, "Now we can go back, right?"
The plane cut through the sky and headed straight for the Arctic base.
*****
Special forces returned to the Egyptian base on the plane.
Scarlett rubbed the back of her head and opened her eyes.
"Where am I?"
There was silence in the cabin, but no one answered her, and she suddenly thought of something, "What about the warhead?" Did we snatch back the warhead? β
The circuit breaker shook his head.
"The snake eye is seriously injured, three sternums, four ribs, and serious internal organ breakage, and I am afraid that I will not be able to return to the team in a short time." He looked at the end of the cabin, where Rip was dressed in bandages and cared for a scarred Duke.
"He was knocked down from a high altitude by Mawson, and if it wasn't for Rip regaining his mobility at a critical moment, Duke would have been smashed directly to the ground."
Circuit Breaker sighed, "Fortunately, no one died this time, but Paris was miserable, nearly 1/4 of the city was destroyed, and the losses caused were incalculable." And we lost the place of the remaining three warheads. β
He looked at Scarlett, "What did Mawson tell you before leaving?" β
"Soon after he left, the nanobugs in the city died, and someone must have turned off the brake switch."
"But what is he doing this for?"
Scarlett sat up straight, "Mawson told me that he had a hard time, he said he was going to the North Pole, where there was a base, and that the only way to solve it was by destroying it!" β
Scarlett just wanted to stand up, but her left hand touched her pocket, but she was slightly stunned, "What is this?" She pulled a button-sized device out of her pocket and asked, looking puzzled.
"It's the receiver!"
The breaker shouted in surprise as he relayed the information from his device to the large screen, where a clear red dot flashed above the map, moving towards the northern hemisphere.
"Could this be a trap?" The circuit breaker suddenly cooled down.
Scarlett shook her head bitterly, "I don't know, I really don't!" β
She felt that she should know Mawson as a person, and before recruiting Mawson, she had studied all of Mawson's materials in detail, from childhood to adulthood, in every detail.
Is he a down-and-out rich second generation, or an amorous playboy, or an iron-blooded warrior? Is it a traitor or a fighter for justice walking on the edge of darkness?
Scarlett couldn't tell the difference, Mawson's whole body seemed to be shrouded in a fog, he would kill and save people, he was cruel, but he was merciful.
She really didn't know if she should trust him or not.
"We're going! Why not? With Rip's support, Duke slowly walked over to the two.
"If the clues he left behind are true, we will completely wipe out there, and if it is fake, we will also fight back and destroy his plot!" Duke said categorically, the firmness in his eyes that infected the others.
The four of them glanced at each other and said in unison.
"Let's go to the North Pole!"
At this time, the plane that Mawson was riding slowly landed on the ice field of the Arctic, and he carried a nano warhead, followed behind the white ghost, and walked into a cave.
The entire Arctic base is built in the depths of the ocean with a thickness of tens of meters of ice, which is simply impossible to survey by normal means.
Several people took the elevator and fell rapidly, and soon came to the interior of the base.
The elevator opened, and McCarron was standing there smiling in a well-tailored striped suit, and he saw Anna's face happy, and he just wanted to reach out and take Anna into his arms, but Anna cleverly dodged it.
McCarron didn't care, and smiled at Mawson, who stepped forward and handed the nano warhead into McCarron's hand, McCarron accepted the warhead, and his face changed suddenly.
"Arrest him!"
