It also talks about merits and demerits, not listening to those who are blind: talking about Chinese culture and history
Some people say that Chinese culture is sauce jar culture. I beg to differ. It would seem biased to use only the word "sauce jar" to summarize Chinese culture. Chinese culture can last for more than a thousand years without dying, and it should have its own glow, which I don't need to repeat here.
To this day, Chinese culture has been plagued many times, and its fate hangs by a thread. Even so, I am not pessimistic or disappointed. In the long river of history, the weakness of cultural momentum is not the first time today, and it is probably not the last time that it is guessed. Although Chinese culture has experienced many ups and downs and suffered many hardships, its revival is not only a flash of time, which is evidenced by history.
There are dynasties and changes, history changes, no matter which dynasty is in power and which person is in power, if they cannot conform to the law of historical development, they will all come to an end, which has a historical precedent. In fact, all the ruling strata and those in power are the dust in the long river of history, and they will eventually become disillusioned.
Different dynasties and various rulers in Chinese history have been wiped out in the long river of time, but Chinese culture is still alive and well, spreading all over the world and nourishing the people.
Based on the continuous understanding of Chinese culture, I have always been cautiously optimistic about the future of this nation. Although I am optimistic, I am not blind and always cautious.
We have an excellent culture, but this excellent culture is not properly recognized and practiced in many cases. Because of the lack of excellent cultural inheritance, we still have many chronic diseases and many vices.
As for the situation in China, it may be like this: the really excellent Chinese culture is not a sauce jar culture, but because of various factors, there are Chinese too many sauce jar-style customs, and this kind of customs is not necessarily the sin of excellent Chinese culture.
Regarding the evaluation of historical figures, many times, we use the sauce jar style because of the style of sauce jar. For example, for the so-called "coffin closure" of historical figures, everyone usually has the saying "three seven open" and "four six open". Based on this, the so-called "three faults and seven faults" are "bad people", and the so-called "four faults and six merits" are identified as "good people", which seems to be quantified and fair, but in fact they are chaotic and riding the wall.
It reminds me of the era when "parted" hairstyles were popular. At that time, if a boy went to the barber shop to get a haircut, the barber would usually ask:
Sir, "three sevens"? Or "four or six"? Or "median"?
In fact, in the countryside, there was also a name for "middle points", that is, "five or five points", at that time - traitor head.
Speaking of which, I would like to ask, how do people who don't know those historical figures "three seven open" and "four six open" feel when they see the division of popular hairstyles? Is it possible that those historical figures who are "five or five open" can be ranked as "traitors"?
The Chinese Empire was too powerful, too prosperous, and too heavy, and its influence lingered for thousands of years. To this day, it is those so-called "intellectuals" who label themselves that are still flattering power, officials, money, and vulgarity in a servile manner. Even people who should have "wind bones" are low-minded and self-destructing their image. Therefore, the general public should not be too harsh.
After the collapse of China's truly virtuous "scholar" class, and before the emergence of the "intellectuals" defined by Westerners, almost all of the people standing at the forefront of today's Chinese society are the dross and dregs, slaves and helpers of thousands of years of imperial rule. In such a situation, there are probably two tendencies for commenting on the merits and demerits of historical figures: one is to ignorantly deify, thinking that his/her fart can chew the fragrance; First, it seems fair, but in fact, it is a muddy way to judge right and wrong with "good people" and "bad people". The ancients said that "it is useless to teach foolishness", and I will not comment on those idols and gods here. A handful of mud is a clear proof of the Chinese sauce jar customs, and we must be extra cautious. How many great evils are hidden in them; How many great evils are covered by them, and they are not allowed to see their true faces.
From a historical point of view, the comments on merits and demerits have very obvious characteristics of the times. Therefore, I don't approve of the merit and demerit of the sauce jar style. In addition, the standard of so-called merit and demerit varies from era to era because of the partiality for self-interest. For those historical figures who have influenced many eras, whether what they have done is merit or demerit, and it needs to be confirmed by historical practice over a longer period of time. We are all finite beings, but history can continue to testify. Therefore, it is necessary to draw conclusions slowly, and then to draw conclusions more slowly.
Slow down the merits!
So, do you still want to comment on historical figures? Of course, comment!
If you want to comment, how do you comment?
The first is to resolutely abandon the ignorance of the gods: all beings are equal, and there are only wise politicians in this world, and there are no leaders of the gods; If you insist on creating gods, don't laugh at the sun-like "leaders" who still exist in the world today who have to be shouted by the people and create blood.
The second is to change the customs of the sauce jar, and we cannot simply determine the "good" or "bad" of historical figures based on the merits and demerits of the "three sevens" or "four sixths". Then, "good" people are good and not questionable; "Bad" people are indisputably bad. What we have to do is to evaluate according to facts, and good facts must be given pertinent praise; The unforgivable evil deeds should also be severely punished. This is not to liquidate, but to inherit the "Spring and Autumn Brushwork", so that later rulers and those in power can restrain themselves when they are misbehaving and lawless.
As for the assessment on a case-by-case basis, it is also necessary to talk about it carefully.
First, there must be the spirit and historical facts of "believing in history." Any person who established a dynasty can be an ordinary view, and there is no shortage of them in history; Any propaganda that is ideologically oriented and downplays right and wrong is bullshit; All public opinion that is whitewashed to maintain the rule is bullshit; All stories with the purpose of fooling the people are bullshit; All materials that are "processed and manufactured" in order to deceive the people are evidence of a crime!
Second, events that are truly beneficial to the public can be praised and credited; Those who lose their conscience, destroy their humanity, and harm human lives must be clarified and those who should be investigated must be investigated.
Taking Emperor Qin as an example, he called himself the first emperor, just for the rule of one family and one surname, just for the sake of the future generations, this is only an ordinary view; Unify the Liuhe, count as a merit; "The book is the same text, the car is on the same track", it is a success; The infamy of burning books and pit Confucianism will also have to be borne by all generations; By modern standards, Qin Shi Huang must have investigated and convicted him if he was suspected of a crime against humanity – even if the conviction was a formality.
Others, no matter who they are, as long as they enter the airspace of history and leave a trace of history, they must be tested by history. On the balance of history, we cannot use the merits and demerits of the sauce jar style, and we cannot use the "three-seven", "four-six" and thin mud.
Although the era has entered the 21st century, in this world, the ghost of the imperial system is still densely scattered in the sky of mankind, the servile illusory admiration is still there, and the ignorant superstition is still stubborn. Many people are nostalgic for the old times, nostalgic for some historical figures of the old era, but in fact, what they really miss is only their ancestors or the rich vested interests they had obtained in the old era.
The reality of today's world is still unpredictable, and there is a danger that people will sink to the bottom of the sauce jar, and the theory of demerit may continue to harm people.
If our wisdom is not enough to discern the truth of history, there are still posterity; If the rights and wrongs of the actions of historical figures have not yet been clarified, there is no need to make a judgment of merit and demerit in a muddy manner.
He also talks about merits and demerits, and does not listen to those who are blind.
