The woodshed where Su Zhi slept was an abandoned house in the corner of the town. There was a willow tree at the door of the house.

Why are there willow trees in this arid and water-scarce place? It may have been planted by the previous owner of the house.

I heard that this master was once an important minister of Great Xia, who was exiled to the frontier because he angered the first emperor, and lived here for ten years. Later, he mysteriously disappeared, and the house was empty.

Legend has it that the house was haunted and uninhabited for many years.
