258, Mothership
Mu Feng plan, in the final analysis, is to design a large enough ship to move all the functional facilities of the ship's mother-of-war port to it, and this ship can be called a mobile homeport or a ship-mothership.
The design of the mothership is based on the modern supercarrier, incorporating the protection scheme of the best battleships of World War II, and has both the sinking resistance of modern aircraft carriers and the protection performance of World War II battleships.
The ship's hull protection system is designed to be immune to 20-inch shells, and the world's most insoluble high-strength alloy armor box is used to properly protect the key facilities inside.
The power system uses a gas turbine with an integrated power system.
Mufeng's fleet now widely uses 40,000 kilowatt gas turbines, plus supporting generators to form a modular standard box, the size of which is 15×3×6 meters.
A total of 16 of these standard boxes, each set of two, with a dedicated armored compartment in each group, were placed in the core of the middle of the hull armor box in a 2×4 layout.
The total output of the 16 gas turbines reached 640,000 kilowatts, about a quarter of which is used for navigation, and a quarter of which supplies various equipment and daily electricity on the mothership.
Almost half of the gas turbines are used as redundant backups, which are replaced in the event of a failure of the operating gas turbine or when they enter combat state, and are all activated to supply the electrical energy needed for electromagnetic weapons.
The 16 gas turbine power generation modules, as long as one is still functional, can propel the 100,000-ton hull to cruise at a speed of 20 knots.
The intake and exhaust passages of 16 gas turbines occupy a very large area, but this is not an aircraft carrier, and there is no need to take into account the take-off and landing of fixed-wing carrier-based aircraft.
In front of the air intakes and exhaust ports of the 16 gas turbines in four rows, extending upwards from the power compartment, are the integrated bridge and mast of the mother ship.
The radar and electronic information systems of the mothership are roughly copied from the 055 system, because there is enough space and power, so the redundant backup of the full set of systems is made.
In front of the bridge, in the center there are two twin 155-mm electromagnetic guns.
In front of the main gun, outside the main armor shell, and in the secondary armor belt, 32 sets of vertical hair systems are set.
The secondary armor belt where the vertical hair system is located has a special buffer compartment between it and the main armor plate to ensure that even if the vertical hair explodes, it will be blown up by the bow at most, and will not affect the core compartment of the hull.
Then in the middle of the left and right sides of the bridge, six twin 76-mm electromagnetic guns were arranged in turn.
In front and behind the 76-mm electromagnetic gun array, there are two sets of Haihongqi-10 near-defense missile launchers, two sets of 1130 close-defense systems, and the entire hull has a total of eight groups of Hongqi-10 and eight groups of 1130.
Behind the bridge, behind the gas turbine intake and exhaust channels, in the middle and rear of the hull, outside the armor, helicopter take-off and landing platforms and corresponding hangars are located.
The Z-20 series helicopters that have been developed, plus the Wuzhi 10, can be put in.
Behind the hangar are two twin 155-mm electromagnetic guns, behind the electromagnetic guns, and above the bow, outside the armored box, after the interval of a special isolation cabin, 32 sets of vertical firing units are located.
At most, the missile explosion blew up the stern of the ship and had little impact on the internal core compartment.
The freeboard height above the waterline is 22 meters, and after removing the 10-meter-deep vertical hair layer, there is still more than 10 meters of space below, and Mufeng has set up a dock similar to a landing ship here.
The lower level is semi-submerged below the waterline, and various water facilities are placed in the dock cabin, such as hovercraft and motorboats, etc., and after filling the cabin with water and opening the hatch, you can drive directly from the dock to the sea.
The dock is not a completely recreational facility, and it also contains some landing facilities such as air-cushion landing craft, tanks, amphibious armored vehicles, off-road vehicles, etc., and suitable islands can be found on the way for landing.
Then there is the division of compartments inside the hull.
The first level below the waterline of the mothership's hull is the resource gathering center with the largest footprint.
Mufeng has placed 5 sets of resource collection facilities here, and each set of energy refining and material refining has a total of 64 functional nodes, which are arranged in the middle of the cabin on this floor.
The resource harvesting system draws seawater from the intakes at the front of the hull, circulates it throughout the refinery facility, extracts the resource, and discharges the wastewater from the middle and rear of the hull.
Part of the extracted active energy and primordial matter is left in the warehouse of the current layer, and part of it is transported to the resource transformation center of the next layer through pipelines.
The resource conversion center converts the received resources into fuel, part of which is sent to the fuel tank, and part of which is sent to the power compartment through the pipeline for direct use.
The distribution of resource concentrations at sea is different, and where the concentration of resources is abundant, most of the collected resources can be stored.
In resource-poor places, or when the ship is stopped, it is necessary to consume the fuel in the fuel tank, and when the fuel tank is not enough, it is necessary to consume the resources and convert them into fuel.
The resource collection cabin and supporting resources and fuel storage warehouses, plus the necessary functional compartments of the hull itself, such as the power compartment, ballast tank, and liquid tank, basically occupy the space below the waterline of the hull.
Above the waterline, the largest space, the relatively good environment, the safest cabin, the placement of military port-related functional modules, including scientific research center, manufacturing center and so on.
Mu Feng's own apartments, dormitories, living, entertainment, and leisure areas have one in this part and one in the integrated superstructure above deck.
When sailing in peacetime, you live in a superstructure with better environment, conditions, and light, and when you encounter possible dangers, you go to the lower level to prepare for battle.
The overall design idea was quickly confirmed, but the functional details took a lot of time.
Under the prompting of the scientific research system, I should constantly delete the problematic design, repeatedly adjust, and repeatedly modify the inappropriate design.
When the design of the mothership is almost complete, the overall data of the hull is almost out.
Mu Feng not only stuffed the necessary functional facilities of the Jianniang Military Port, but also prepared it with the idea of tall and comprehensive, high redundancy, and multiple backups.
Coupled with the living facilities in the best possible conditions, in the end, the tonnage of this mothership finally broke 100,000 tons, the length of the waterline was 340 meters, and the width was 42 meters.
The height from the waterline to the deck is 22 meters, which is equivalent to six floors, and the height from the bottom of the ship to the top of the integrated bridge is almost 50 meters, which is the height of a 30-story building.
If it is a warship, such a large volume and displacement, and only such a small amount of armed forces, can be said to be quite wasteful, quite strange.
But this is a mobile home port, not a specialized combat ship, and there is no need to go to direct combat.
As long as the design is reasonable and not too wasteful, the larger the hull, the stronger the ability to resist wind and waves, the stronger the defense, and of course, the more comfortable and safe it is to sit.
