Volume 1 - Showers Chapter 77: The Tip of the Iceberg (2)

Brahman's Diary:

October 155 of Aisha, Spring Week, Monday.

I sneaked up on Ellie today - yes, I'm going to find the place where Ellie caught the fish.

I followed Ellie into the woods, but they were all the usual paths.

After walking for about 3 quarters of an hour, I immediately recognized that this was the place where I often collected sour fruits. However, Ellie's figure disappeared in a flash in the jungle, and I hurried to catch up and find a small animal path. The trail looked new, but it didn't look like it had been stepped on by Ellie, but rather like something bigger.

The junction of the beast and human trails was near the stout "ringbark tree", which was hidden in a large handful of shrubs behind the giant tree.

Speaking of the "ringbark tree", I think it's really amazing. I once accidentally wounded its outer skin with a knife, but the entire bark of the tree fell off from the wound, and a fragrant orange-yellow mucus flowed from the sore.

I saw some small flying insects flying and licking their food, but within a few seconds, the small flying insects were firmly stuck to the slime, and slowly all of them stopped moving. Within a few minutes, the corpses of the little flying insects were covered in the slime that continued to flow out. The first time I saw this, I was startled—I thought it was one of those poisonous man-eating trees, and ran away so far that I didn't come near it until Mr. Maruch told me that it was not poisonous, and that slime could be collected as a binder.

I think that's probably why I didn't notice a hidden trail near the bark tree—not because of the burrs on the leaves of the bush, which looked painful.

Actually, I feel like Ellie has already discovered me. I was ready to chase Ellie back next time, but I didn't expect to see Ellie dozing off a tree branch after a long time of progress.

When Ellie saw me coming, she just opened her eyes, then hooked her three-colored tail and pointed in one direction, and then snored again.

I followed the direction of Ellie, and not long after, when I pushed aside a piece of vine, a small lake appeared in front of me.

The water is so clear that from time to time fish come out of the water. Of course, there are many animals gathered around the lake. They come in all shapes and sizes. There are cooing chickens drinking water; There are cat lizards bathing; There are ocelots and guerrilla falcons catching fish; There is also a strange ape fox lying on a big rock basking in the sun.

Surprisingly, all of these creatures seemed to coexist in harmony here, and of course, they didn't show any more overreaction to my arrival, except that some of the smaller animals seemed a little cautious.

I was thirsty, so I ran to the lake, took a big sip of water. The water is sweet and clear, without the salty taste of water from wells.

Ellie didn't know when she came to me, but at that moment, a fish came out of the water. Before I could react, Ellie took a quick leap and put the fish in her mouth.

I was very worried that Ellie would fall into the water, but before I could rush into the lake to catch her, Ellie walked gracefully and strolled on the water.

I knew Ellie wasn't just an ordinary cat. However, I decided that the next time I came here, I could bring a net bag, and it seemed a little awkward to collect the sour fruit basket for the fish.

"Oh my God! Big man, I thought you were beaten to death by that stinky guy bigger than you! Spado said as he dragged her injured foot and slowly moved it to Joseph.

Joseph sat down on the ground with exhaustion, and said, "Ah, Spado. You see, playing dead is also a kind of wisdom! ”

Spado rolled his eyes and said to Joseph, "Okay, okay! Hunk, you always have a lot of excuses. Oh shit, I mean you don't sit on the ground, my foot is sprained, come and help me up you idiot. ”

Joseph let out an "oh" and then stood up and carried Spado on his back. "Hey! Joseph, I'm asking you to help me! Alas... Well, forget it. ”

Spado sometimes really didn't want to act with Joseph anymore, and she felt like she was going to be by this guy one day. "Someday I'm going to pull that guy's beard!" She thought that more than once. However, she never put it into action.

"You guys, take that woman back, and find a cart to take away that stinky lump of rotten meat, and you, go see if the one that's pressed under the door panel is dead, the one over there!" Tell the executive that he's got the fool alive who jumped out of the window. Spado lay on Joseph and commanded the other soldiers.

Several soldiers went their separate ways, and in a few moments, the young executive calmed the drinkers and the owner of the tavern and went upstairs.

"Mr. Claude, Lady Doris! I've calmed the drinkers, and just now we caught a man jumping out of the window, and confirmed the tattoo of a subversive on his body. The young executive had a serious expression, but he couldn't hide his smug expression.

"Young man!" Joseph thought to himself. He didn't say it, though. Joseph felt that there was no shame in giving the young man more opportunities to express himself, and that the capture of the man was indeed thanks to the advance deployment of the executive. This sometimes reminded Joseph of when he was still a mercenary—the age of wanton behavior.

"Report to your Excellency!" A soldier interrupted Joseph's recollections.

"My lord, the man under the door panel is not dead! But I've lost too much blood and I'm already unconscious! The soldier replied.

"Bandage him! Don't be reluctant to ointments and herbs. This man is an important captive, and if he doesn't survive, I'll smash your ass. Joseph ordered loudly.

"Yes, yes!" The soldier clamped his hips at once, and it seemed that he was busy so that his own ass would not be whipped.

"So we have three captives, Spado."

Spado lay down on Joseph's grief and said lazily, "Oh, big man, don't be too optimistic, according to my opinion, the man and the woman probably won't have any useful information." Believe it or not, our breakthrough is in the man who jumped out of the window. ”

"How do you know, Spado, if you want me to say something that the man is likely to say, after all, he is dying, and if Mr. Michael had shown mercy, he could have saved his life. It's a pity that we don't have the ability to capture trolls. Joseph was a little disappointed, he was obsessed with the trolls.

"Hmph, big man, don't you still trust women's intuition?" The female knight asked rhetorically, her tone filled with danger.

Joseph replied absentmindedly: "Well, no, it's not that I don't believe in women's intuition, I just want to say, you are also ... Oops! Oops! No ear biting! Loosen up, you guy! I mean, I don't feel right, I rely on your woman's intuition every time to make judgments! ”
