Chapter 8: A Full Meal After Hunger

"I really don't have the strength, I need something to eat, let's go down to the beach and see if the tide is low." Xiang Wen was obviously tired and hungry.

"Let's go, there's no hurry. If the tide is low, we can still stay down for a while and come up and cut a few every day. Come, give me the suitcase. Miao Miao comforted him intimately.

"Not really, it's not there yet." Xiang Wen was a little embarrassed. Originally, a man should take care of a woman, but because he was hungry and had no physical strength, he needed to let a woman comfort him.

The two of them walked out of the bamboo forest, and only then did they see that the sun was already overhead. After walking for a while, I could see the beach through the gap in the woods.

"It seems to have retreated."

"Great, although I'm tired of eating conch shellfish these days, I can at least fill my stomach, and just eating apricots will only make me feel hungrier. My legs are weak. Xiang Wen said weakly.

"It's time to arrive. You sit down and rest for a while, and I'll pick up the conch. The empathetic Miao Miao walked straight down the beach without waiting for Xiang Wen to object.

"Xiangwen Xiangwen, there are fish, there are fish." Miao Miao stood in front of her in the half circle of stones, waving her hands and shouting excitedly.

When Xiang Wen heard this, he immediately ran down, feeling that he suddenly had strength. That's probably the power of hope.

Two fish the size of an adult's palm and a crab the size of a fist were trapped.

"I'll go up and get the tin can." Miao Miao said happily.

Xiang Wen looked at her back gratefully, this woman took proper care of herself and relaxed her nerves a lot in such an environment.

"Then I'll make a fire." Xiang Wen followed her up. Fortunately, yesterday's firewood was not far away.

The drive for food makes everything move faster. The fire was burning brightly in no time. Miao Miao roasted the fish and crabs on the fire, and Xiang Wen went down with the tin can to dig up some more conch shellfish, hunger made him feel that he could eat a cow, and these in front of him were far from enough. Soon he brought back half a bucket of conch shellfish.

Miao Miao poured in a little cold boiled water and then put the tin can on the fire to boil, when the water boiled, the shellfish were opened, she took out two potato chips from the suitcase, crushed them, and put them in the soup. Xiang Wen squatted to the side like a child watching his mother cook, with a look of impatience and happiness. Seeing that it was almost cooked, he happily got up to the high place on the beach, took two large leaves from the forest next to him and wiped them, put the cooked fish and crabs on them, slowly moved them to the shade of the trees, and prepared two pairs of "chopsticks", and Miao Miao also carefully wrapped the tin can in a cloth.

This meal, both of them had a full meal, including fish, crabs, conch, shellfish, delicious soup, and clean drinking water. At this time, it should be true that such a meal is not exchanged. There was still a bottle and a half of drinking water, and the two of them were so thirsty that they couldn't stand it before they took a sip to moisten their throats, and they knew very well that this was the water of life until they found the water source.

After this meal, the sun above me was about 35° off the center.

"There's still some time, let's go over there and see what's there." Miao Miao pointed to the right and said.

"Good. Walk. Xiang Wen added some green branches as usual, and then followed her with a stick.

The two of them walked along the winding beach line, one after the other, and the low tide brought a lot of dead branches to the beach. The sun is still strong here, and the beach quickly starts to dry out again after low tide. The beach gets narrower and narrower, and there are more and more stones.

"Miao Miao, is that the entrance to the cave?"

"The hole? Where? ”

"Behind that raised stone, see?"

"It's like, hey, don't go, it's getting dark, let's go in with torches tomorrow."

"Okay." Xiang Wen stopped, a little disappointed. He wondered if it was a hole and what it was like.

"Let's go, let's go back." Miao Miao turned around and walked back, the woman naturally has a sense of fear of the black hole, who knows what is inside? Subconsciously, I am very resistant.

Back at the station, Xiang Wen lit another fire on the beach, a little higher than the place where he slept before the high tide. Miao Miao spread out the plastic sheet as a mat, although the surface of the sand was dry, but after all, it had been soaked in seawater for so long, and it was actually wet even deeper.

That night, the two men lay at opposite ends of the mat, one fearful of tomorrow's adventure, the other full of anticipation.
