Showers Chapter 47: Joshua's First Lesson 4

"The Biology of Elsa" - Jane Goodall. :

Ceratosaurus is a large wyvern that inhabits the desert and is a true dragon. It has a wide range of distribution, and it exists in the deserts of the eastern and western continents, but there are not many of them. Although it is a vegetarian, it has a very short temper, and with its great strength and agility, it is feared by both beast hunters and even the army.

Unlike the traditional true dragon represented by the male fire dragon, the wings of the ceratosaurus degenerated due to the long stay on the ground, but correspondingly evolved the strong legs that are rare for other dragons, and the main function of the forelimbs has gradually changed from helping to grasp balance when flying. At the same time, in order to adapt to the brutal competition of ground life, thick horns and huge tails have grown. The teeth also gradually dull and become suitable for grinding plants as well as certain nutrient-rich minerals. Sandstorms were frequent in desert areas, and plants were often buried, so ceratosaurs evolved elongated tusks that could cut through layers of sand in search of food. Ceratosaurus spent a lot of time eating every day and almost never drank water, as plants such as cacti or large bulbous desert flowers had enough water to sustain their life.

In order to cope with the huge temperature difference between day and night in the desert, ceratosaurs usually used their forelimbs to dig holes during the day, hide under the relatively cold sand, and come out to feed at night. However, due to its extremely sensitive hearing, the ceratosaurus often rushed to the ground during the day due to the sounds of other creatures, however, it did not have the ability to distinguish the form and abilities of enemies through sound. As a result, most of its performances during the day due to loud noises end up being boring.

Although it had poor eyesight, with its sense of hearing and an equally sensitive sense of smell, a ceratosaurus could accurately target creatures that were close to it. Ceratosaurus was a solitary animal with a large territorial range and a strong sense of territory, often in conflict with other creatures and even of its own kind. When confronted with an intruder, the Ceratosaurus will attack with its horns and tail, using tactics such as ramming, picking, throwing, and even attacking underground to drive away the intruder or kill it outright.

Due to its large territory, in order to facilitate reproduction, the ceratosaurus also evolved a huge voice. Usually it can be used to scare invaders with a loud roar, but during the breeding season, the male ceratosaurus will roar in their territory to attract the opposite sex and challengers; They usually gather in small groups of 4 to 5 individuals, and female ceratosaurs tend to have only 1 or 2 individuals; Males take turns dueling one-on-one, and females watch the battle; Duels were extremely dangerous, in fact, most male ceratosaurs were seriously injured in such duels to please the opposite sex, such as having their throats pierced and their skulls shattered; The victor is favored by the female, who separates from the female immediately after sowing. However, some female ceratosaurs become black all over the body due to a surge in hormone secretion before laying eggs, and their aggression is greatly enhanced, and they become black ceratosaurus (the so-called ceratosaurus subspecies), and this change is irreversible.

Females generally chose hidden caves or oases as their spawning grounds, which are generally cooler areas of the desert. About 10 eggs are laid at a time, and about 5 can be hatched, but only 1 or 2 young dragons survive to adulthood. Before the young dragon's teeth are well developed, the female dragon will go out to forage for food and store it in the stomach, and then regurgitate and feed it to the young dragon. After the teeth are developed, they take the young dragon to forage for food, and train the young dragon to run and dig the ground, and the young dragon reaches a body length of more than 16 meters and begins to live alone.

The closest known creature to a ceratosaurus is a ceratosaurus, which is roughly identical to a ceratosaurus except for a horn with a parrot-like beak and a mace-shaped tail. However, the Ceratosaurus is more aggressive, and eats meat, making it an omnivorous creature.

"Well, while these are important, it's still too early for you, after all, this only happens to spellcasters who have a mature understanding of Elsa and the origin of mana, and you are not qualified right now." Michael didn't want to make his son resist because of these words, so he comforted. However, it doesn't seem to be comforting to the point ...

"Alright, let's talk about my mana perception, and then I'll teach you meditation to sense mana. When you've done that, tell me what you've learned. As you should be aware, I'm more comfortable with white and blue mana, and Mom is more comfortable with green and black mana, so our class takes a lot of time, but first, we need to see which mana you're more comfortable with, which requires a little bit of trouble... ”

With that, Michael motioned for Joshua to choose a comfortable position, explaining that it would help with relaxation and make the mana affinity test more accurate. Then Joshua lay down and crossed his left leg on his right leg with his hands behind his head.

Michael covered his face and thought to himself, 'Well, what a son of his own...' Then he said, "You need to follow my instructions while I'm working on my magic, so we can know exactly what the result is." Joshua shook his upturned left foot, which said, 'Yes, Daddy.'

Michael first picked up a lot of small pebbles by the river, and then broke a small branch by the river. He arranged the small pebbles he picked up around his son into five small circles according to a certain pattern and distance, and then used branches to write and draw on the ground, and finally made a magic circle with complex patterns but special charm at first glance.

Then he placed a handful of water and a small branch in two small circles, and then put his palms together, turned his right hand over, and a cluster of flames, a ball of light, and a wisp of black smoke flew into the remaining three circles.

"Alright, Josh, now close your eyes and let the matter in the circle change." Michael said.

"Dad, you haven't told me how to do it yet!" Joshua closed his eyes and asked.

"I can't tell you how, you can figure it out yourself, but I can give you some hints to focus your attention on the matter in the circle and focus on the mana."

"I close my eyes and how do I see it, I don't even know where the circle is! Father. ”

"It's not looking, it's watching. With your heart, with your mind, with your thoughts, with your feelings, but not with your eyes. Michael prompted.

"Okay, I'll give it a try!" However, Joshua obviously didn't quite understand his father's prompting, and saw that the muscles in his whole body were tense, his face looked like he was about to bite something, and his brows were tightly locked.

"Keep trying, you haven't figured it out yet...
