Showers Chapter 10: Supporting the Logging Fortress (2)
A Brief History of the Empire (II) – Lucius Goode. :
Empire Anecdotes:
The diet of the empire was very ordinary. For the peasants, it was usually just bread, pie, cheese, potatoes or onions, with the occasional pork and venison, beef that only the wealthy could eat, and shellfish and fish that might be the staple food in the coastal areas. They drink ale, fruit wine or beer, which is usually made locally and is not easy to preserve, so the local fruit wine can only be drunk locally - although some wizards and mages can use some magical means to preserve the fruit wine for a long time.
The food of the nobility was usually rich in meat. Basically, the main meal will have at least one type of wild animal meat as the main course. They usually drink fruit wine. In the Empire, apart from children, very poor families and clergy, almost no one knew how to drink water.
Imperial Geography:
Since its creation, the empire has been divided into seven parts. The capital of the empire was in the middle, located in the fertile plains. It is surrounded by six other dominions or principalities, each with its own unique culture, geography and climate.
Most of the empire was rich in farmland, hills, or forests, and was rich in resources. However, only the Empire had the Tangnis Territory close to the sea. As a result, only Tangenness has a bustling port town and a large dockyard. The countryside is usually very rich in rainfall, with several large rivers running through it. To the north and west there are branches of the Terror Mountains. The south is more of a few low mountains and more hills.
Social structure:
The Holy Falcon Empire is a feudal theocracy. Theoretically, the Holy Emperor had absolute authority, but in practice most of the power in the empire was concentrated in the hands of the six dukes, who sometimes went to war, but the scale of the war between them was usually not too long - otherwise the emperor would mediate. If the Emperor's mediation was ignored, the Emperor would call on the rest of the dukes to join him in the crusade, and then divide part of the land among the nobles who participated in the war, usually to the dukes, as a war reparation and an offend to the Emperor's absolute authority.
Ella's church has a political power to be reckoned with, and every village, town, and city has at least one church. Clergy may marry, but this is generally discouraged – except for clergy with aristocratic backgrounds – and they may be a nobleman before they can be a clergyman.
The Blazing Celestial Attendants generally do not have an official position in the Empire, except to temporarily support the war in the event of a national war or major crisis. Most of the time they spend their time in a church or receiving worship, and some of the Blazing Gods are loyal to the dukes as advisors, but they have a very high social status - far above the idle aristocracy.
The knights and lords were originally the second sons of the aristocracy or the best of the commoners, including the ambitious merchants. The rise of the urban middle class led many wealthy nouveau riche to make extensive friendships with the aristocracy, and tried to establish common interests and blood ties with the noble families through marriage.
Most peasants don't care who is in power, they just run around to make a living, but are usually still tied to the land – working hard with little freedom and income.
Strange to say, the Empire has Elsha's most powerful, largest, and most authoritative wizarding academy. Unlike the Mage's Council of the Seven Rings, wizards are not like mages who can mobilize a large amount of mana of a certain color, which makes wizards not like mages whose spells are earth-shattering. However, wizards tend to use multiple manas to coordinate their operations and spells, and their magic power is not devastating, but it is more diverse—more similar to the ancient Sumel High Elves' combat style.

"Damn it!" Michael spat on the ground. "These young people... Michael's tone was full of regret: "The corpses of these poor worms will definitely not be recovered, hey... ”
"Mr. Michael, there is no time to sigh, we must immediately regroup the team, count the number of people, and strengthen the vigilance!" Joseph threw his two-handed broadsword to his attendant and said breathlessly.
The sword was too heavy and huge, and although the attendant caught it with both hands, the whole man fell forward with a 'bang' and fell to the ground, and the other attendant saw it, and hurriedly went to help the unfortunate man up, and put away the great sword, so as not to be scolded.
"That's right, we have to start again, immediately, immediately. It's getting dark, and the brutes won't give up so easily, and they'll feast on us if we show the slightest flaw—and we don't know what happened to the Logging Fortress, the smell of blood disturbs me, and I'm a little worried about Lady Elpara. Jon chimed in.
Michael quipped, "Oh, I see, Jon, Lady Elpala will be fine—that lady is better at riding and pistoling than you." But we did have to go right away, not just because of the cats and lizards, but because the movement of the battle and the smell of the blood of these beasts would attract something else. The Black Wolf Bird is fine, if the Swift Dragon comes, I'm sorry, this terrain, we'll be killed - to kill the mighty beast we have to rely on the fortifications or meet it in a wide area. ”
"It's not just that, those zombies... Jon said worriedly.
"Shut up! Jon! You crow's mouth, don't mention the Spirit... Phew! Don't mention those things! You don't understand anything! Joseph was angry and jealous.
"Let's pray this isn't a day of black mana, we need to get out now. Soldiers! Get in shape now! Seriously wounded people were carried on their backs or carried by two people, and the lightly injured moved closer to the middle of the group. Joseph, get out of the way, Jon, you're broken, and I'm in the middle of the formation, quickly crossing the forest path! Count when you get to the Logging Fortress! ”
Along the way, the whole team appeared tense and depressed, no one spoke, only the sound of the team stepping on the snow 'creaking, creaking'. The cats and lizards did not come again, and other beasts, monsters, and monsters did not reappear. As the snow on the ground thinned, the view ahead suddenly became clearer.
"Look, it's a logging fortress! I see Master Geville! It must be him in the red armor! A servant at the front of the line shouted.
The Logging Fortress had just come under a moderate beast attack, and although there were no casualties, the soldiers were exhausted.
Geville is leading a small group of soldiers to clean up the battlefield and burn corpses. Suddenly, he saw a procession flowing out of the forest path like a stream. Nervous, Givir immediately ordered the soldiers to be on guard, but when he saw the banner of the team, he breathed a sigh of relief and ordered the soldiers to keep working: "Keep up the work!" Speed up and clean up the battlefield! Don't worry, it's Mr. Joseph, Mr. Michael, and Mr. Jon... ”
