Chapter Seventy-One: Top Genius

"No, Professor, I don't think Einstein thought so."

In a class at the state university, the physics professor on the podium reluctantly took off his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose a little tiredly. Unhurriedly, he put his glasses back on, not surprised to find that the student who raised the objection was the same person as before.

It was a student in a green coat and a white lapel shirt underneath, leaning back in a lazy and arrogant sitting position, his lazy eyes as if he was mocking everyone but himself.

The physics professor hated this student, even though he was indeed talented and genius-level monsters. And he knew that all the professors except himself hated the student too.

The student's name is Victor von Doom.

This guy is really a hot potato, and he is probably the most special person in the entire university. Unlike other students, he didn't get to the university through normal channels, he came here because he signed a long-term contract with the U.S. military.

Victor von Doom was born in an Eastern European country called Latvia, a country plagued by war and crime. He grew up in a gypsy family and followed his people from place to place for a long time. The professor was not told the details, but he had heard that Doom seemed to be a super-genius comparable to Edison, who had mastered advanced science and technology through self-study, and had invented all sorts of novel gadgets that even the military of the superpowers had never heard of to fight against the enemies who oppressed their tribe.

So as his fame grew, the U.S. military noticed him. A general of the United States personally went to Latvia to meet him and brought an invitation on behalf of the government. On the surface, the military arranged for him to enter the state university as an international student and become a student here, but in fact, Doom learned more in one year than any professor here has accumulated in a lifetime. The real purpose of his coming here is to use his mind to provide benefits to the military, which provides him with the best private laboratories, the most cutting-edge equipment, and in return he will continue to give back all kinds of pioneering inventions.

So what reason does such a super-genius have to follow a group of mediocre college students to listen to a lesson that is simply pediatric for him?

There is only one reason, for show.

Doom looked at the professor on the podium with a playful expression and said, "I never said Einstein thought so, Professor. What I have just presented is my personal opinion – and I believe it is true. ”

"Are you saying Einstein was wrong? And you're right? ”

"Times are advancing. Even the greatest minds cannot escape the confines of the times. Doom shrugged his shoulders indifferently, his expression as if to say, "Don't be so surprised, it's not a big deal."

"Let me explain." Doom sat up straight and began gesturing with his hands, "What I mean by this is that time is not a flowing river, as we usually feel. As far as I can see, time is a constant thing.

But most human minds can't understand it in a way that is beyond linearity. In fact, in a way, we are prisoners of time. ”

Professors support the forehead. Every time I argue with this student, he feels very powerless, and his arguments go from giving you the illusion that all the things you have learned in your life should be fed to the dogs.

"You think time is a physical dimension, that's what you mean?" The professor's voice was weak.

"Of course. There are many more layers of existence, Professor. It's just that the vast majority of human beings are still too blind to comprehend their limited minds. ”

Doom used the word "they" as if to imply that he did not belong to one of the "blind humans". In fact, his gestures are full of spontaneous detachment and conceit.

To his surprise, another student in the classroom interjected into the conversation.

"I agree with Victor, Professor."

Dum looked back in surprise and found a flat-headed, plainly dressed nerd in the middle of the room, with a can't help but glow of excitement on his face when he brought up the topic of time.

The professor grew weaker. Great, there was another abnormality, and he also agreed with that inexplicable theory, as if a Doom was not enough of a headache.

Doom frowned a little displeased.

The nerd was Reed Richards, and he was a top talent. Truth be told, scientific geniuses of the caliber of Doom and Reed are among the best in the world, and the odds of two people bumping into each other at the same university are theoretically smaller than winning the lottery...... But they just ran into it.

Doom had always felt that everyone except himself was not much better than a goldfish, but if he had to make an exception for anyone, it would be Richards. If he had asked Doom in person, he would have said that Richards was the only person in the world who could barely keep up with him, only a fraction of his geniusβ€”and the answer was more because his ego did not allow him to admit that someone was better than him.

Reed said after a long time, "In fact, my own experiments have already touched the surface of other realms. I believe that the so-called haunting and alien sightings are in fact different realities, which may be seen by the human eye for a short time......"

Doom unhappily packed up his books, got up and left the classroom without asking, muttering, "Yes, Richards." But if I need you to defend myself, I'll let you know. ”

He respects Richards' mind, but does not appreciate his character. In Doom's view, Reed's attitude towards the unknown world is like that of a child of a few years old, full of joy and curiosity, and has no idea how dangerous the outside world actually is.

Originally, he had come to this class to pretend to relax, but Richards was so disturbed that he was not interested. Doom left the classroom and headed straight back to his private lab, ready to continue an important project he was working on.

His lab is specially prepared by the military, connected to his single quarters, completely soundproofed, and must undergo various cutting-edge biometric certifications to enter. This may be the most heavily secured student dormitory ever, and it would be as difficult to break through as hard as infiltrating the Pentagon.

But when Doom unlocked the door and pushed it in, he found that there was already someone inside.

A young man in a black trench coat with a stand-up collar sat cross-legged on Doom's experimental chair, his arms naturally folded around his arms, and the look in his eyes made him involuntarily rise with the illusion that he was completely seen through inside and out.

Dum is no ordinary college student either. His face quickly turned cold, and he asked in a calm voice, "Who are you?" How did you get in? ”

"I've been waiting for you for a long time, Mr. von Doom." The young man's tone was unhurried, and his voice sounded like it was unwarm, "You may have heard my name. I'm Michael Paso and I brought you a job offer. ”
