Chapter 144: Never Die (Three Watches)

After leaving Paso, Jessica Jones went back to her apartment, took a shower and changed into clean clothes. She pulled a bottle of beer out of the cupboard, opened the cap, took a big sip from head to mouth, and sat back at the messy desk to get to work.

While she didn't understand what the complicated machine in the document was about, what she did understand was that the machine seemed to require specific equipment and environment to function. She wrote down the names and models of the specially marked piles of equipment in the documents, which looked complicated, and hoped that there were not too many factories in the city that met the conditions.

Then she made several phone calls disguised as an interested investor to inquire about the situation. As luck would have it, there seemed to be only seven places in the entire New York City that met the criteria. In other words, she only had to run to seven locations one by one at most to check them out.

But she had a quicker solution.

When the Paso Tech container was found at the docks, Jessica noticed several similar footprints on the edge and periphery of the box. Although she didn't get a chance to scrutinize it closely, she only glanced at it cursory, but as a good enough detective, she was eighty percent sure that the footprints were not dry asphalt.

If "undried asphalt" is taken into account, then six of the seven sites are excluded.

She once read in a book that a great detective once said, "When all the pieces are embedded in the right place, the answer will naturally begin to appear." ”

She believed that the last remaining address was the answer she was looking for.

Jessica bypassed the main entrance and jumped directly from the fence into the factory. She reached the back of the factory outside the warehouse, ripped off the chain and opened the door.

She found the black cube box, the same one she had seen on the docks the night before, with the number AXCR-3920 printed on it.

She walked over to the box. She had wanted to use brute force to break the lock to see what was hidden inside, but she found that it was not necessary, and the lock had already been unlocked. She opened the door and frowned in confusion when she saw what was hidden inside.

The structure of the machine hidden inside looked a bit complicated, with haphazard wiring, and several complex devices in the back of her ass that she couldn't see the purpose of being tightly connected. But ignoring the structure and complex wiring of these devices, the main body of this device appears to be a chair.

Unbeknownst to Jessica, the chair was designed by Victor von Doom, a genius like no other. The prototype of this device carried his soul through the gates of the dimension and broke into the hellish space ruled by the demon Mephisto, doing something that would have been impossible with the current scientific vision of mankind.

The prototype was blown to pieces after it first put it into operation, and Jessica is now looking at an optimized version of it. It has the magical function of breaking through the barriers of space and entering other dimensions, and it is not an exaggeration to say that it is a machine with the power of God.

Long black shadows were cast through the window in the moonlight, and they were reflected on the floor hideously. The shadow half-crouched on the windowsill, slowly and silently raising its pitch-black sharp claws, and locked on Jessica, who was leaning over to inspect intently

The black shadow swooped out, like a black cat in the moonlight. At the same second, Jessica cleverly rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the past. The shadow grabbed the air with one claw, and plunged its five fingers into the ground, and its huge body slid several meters before braking the car, and its fingertips scraped on the ground with a piercing sound like a cat scratching glass.

It looked up slowly, white eyes, sharp teeth, and a long tongue that seemed to hang a twisted smile at the corners of his mouth.

Venom.

Jessica showed an impatient expression: "Is there an end?" Are you a lump of black kraft candy or something? ”

"We are Venom! And we're going to bite off your pretty head! ”

"Hell you're going to see it." Jessica said, muttering in a low voice, "And why do you always use 'we' in the first person?" ”

"Roar!"

Venom replied with a roar, resembling a panther at a pounce. It raised its claws and volleyed down, but Jessica carefully avoided it, punching it to the left. Venom's body shook, but the effect was obviously not obvious enough. Its right fist was raised in the air, and its fist swelled into a large sledgehammer with black thorns, and slammed down on the top of Jessica's head.

Jessica dodged sideways and thrust with all her might. Venom was pushed backwards by her, but then with a flick of her arm, the black substance attached to her arm poked out like a pliable whip, causing Jessica to stagger backwards

It definitely hit her ribs that hadn't healed yet, and the pain made her almost faint. She retreated to a heavy machine behind her, and Venom followed with another punch in her face. Jessica's head flicked, and a black punch slammed into her cheek, slamming into the metal shell of the machine behind her.

Jessica pressed her hands on Venom's chest to push it two steps away, followed by a punch to its cheek. She alternated her fists, one after the other, and the fists landed like rockets fired at close range, all falling on Venom's disgusting face.

She was a little out of breath, and it was obviously related to her unhealed injury, which she had never felt tired at this point before.

Venom punched her seven or eight times in a row, and when Jessica's all-out punch hit what was supposed to be its nose in the face, Venom took two steps back and stopped. Its deflected head turned back, grinned, and laughed again.

"Good fist." It spoke, "I'm almost starting to lose my heart to eat you. ”

So the monster seems to be unscathed up to this point. Jessica gritted her teeth and raised her fist again, but the moment she punched, her arm was wrapped in Venom's tentacles. Venom lifted her by the arm and lifted her above her head and threw her to the ground, causing Jessica to cough as the dust stirred. Venom's tentacles pinned her to the ground, and the black monster raised its fist like the final sentence of an executioner.

It really looks like it's over.

Satisfied, Jessica Jones? Otherwise, what else can you expect to be nosy? She said to herself.

Jessica subconsciously raised her arm in front of her. She had thought that in the next few seconds it would be almost time for the venom to swallow her whole, but a domineering dark red torrent roared and flew over, blasting the big black creature out of her.

Jessica lowered her arm and got up and turned back in confusion. She saw a red-haired girl in an open red coat, with black stockings on her slender legs, the corners of which fluttered in the crimson waves.

Scarlet Witch.

Jessica raised an eyebrow and said to herself, "Well, things are getting weirder and weirder. ”
