Chapter 49: A New Pattern
Philip S. J. Coulson, a top S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, is a standard American agent in the form of a template, and one of the most trusted agents under former S.H.I.E.L.D. chief Nick Fury. After working hard in S.H.I.E.L.D. for half his life, thanks to Director Fury's appreciation, he finally got the position of number one before retiring.
However, the six months he spent in this position were also the most difficult six months of his life as an agent.
I think how majestic it was when Nick Fury was in charge of Aegis. Aegis is known as the head of the world's spy agencies, with many super privileges that make people blush when they are listed, a collection of dangerous equipment that can turn the world upside down, a collection of top agents, scientists, and scientific and technological forces that can throw off the eight major roads of the American military government. Not to mention that Fury has several extremely attractive floating carriers under his command, which can go to the sea in space and even have Aegis's exclusive optical camouflage technology, which disappears without a trace when it goes to the sky.
If there is any need to say that the only thing that can hinder the powerful Director Fury is the annoying old men of the World Security Council. They oversee and are responsible for all matters up and down Aegis, and in theory, they have the right to intervene in every decision made by Director Fury. But who is Nick Fury? Legendary agents, spy chiefs, and his accomplice Alexander Pierce have been around for years, and the Council's role has been limited.
Anyway, over the years, Nick Fury has basically done whatever he wants, and reported to the board of directors when he wanted to, but most of the time he ignored it. What Director Fury decided to do was that the old man himself couldn't change his mind, anyway, unless Fury wanted to drop a nuclear bomb and blow up Manhattan or something, those old men couldn't do anything else.
Director Fury took Agent Coulson's hand and gave him a lecture in a serious and earnest manner, saying that Agent Coulson was moved to tears and was deeply moved, and he made up his mind to firmly uphold the faith in the name of Aegis, and took over the banner of Aegis from Fury to continue the unfinished business of his mentor.
But soon the new director, Phil Coulson, discovered that today's Aegis is not like that at all.
While Fury had many privileges and agents roaming around the world, Aegis is now an international terrorist organization, and news reports often refer to them alongside their "old friend" Hydra.
Fury's top technology and eyes were all over the world, but now Coulson's list of agents is a one-page list — including scientists and civilians.
At the beginning, Fury had planes and tanks in his hands, and he didn't have to worry about dropping one of the floating carriers every week, but now they did not hesitate to break into the military base and rob it for the sake of such a Kun fighter equipped with stealth devices.
In such a situation where there is a shortage of men, guns, and international pursuits, Agent Coulson must also shoulder the responsibility of leading Aegis to continue to love and kill the remaining remnants of Hydra and prevent them from destroying the world.
If there was anything to be thankful about, it was that their rival Hydra was in the same condition as they were...... Well, in all fairness, Hydra seems to be even worse.
After the heavy blow suffered before, the Na (Na) Pure remnant party organization, which was known as the unbeatable Xiaoqiang, finally collapsed. Most of the Hydra's head had been cut off, and there didn't seem to be any signs of two new heads growing this time. The only one who still has some strength in his hands is Daniel Whitehall.
But then again, this Mr. Whitehall is really similar to Coulson's side. They are also short of men, guns, and technology, and they have to evade the pursuit of the Celestial Sword as well as the international hunt - and they don't even know the name of this mysterious new organization called the Celestial Sword.
As the only surviving leader of Hydra, Daniel Whitehall also inherited and carried forward the fine tradition of Hydra's extreme ability, insisted on hiding in the shadows for six months under heavy pressure, and successfully robbed the "obelisk" he had in mind from the items confiscated by the Aegis military.
A series of subsequent encounters between Aegis and Hydra revolve around the object known as the Obelisk, which both sides know is powerful and dangerous, but neither knows exactly what it is used for. All they know is that people who come into direct physical contact with the obelisk will be infected and corrupted by this evil thing, and so far anyone who touches the obelisk has been petrified and confirmed dead.
After spending countless hours, manpower, and money, and receiving the guidance of relevant experts, Whitehall finally succeeded in solving the secret hidden in the artifact "Obelisk". He discovered that it could be used for anything other than a weapon. And in order to perform this part of its function, it seems that they need to find a specific location, and they must find some ancient city that was left on Earth by aliens in ancient times. Whitehall believed that if the city was found, the obelisk would be able to exert its exterminating power to kill millions of people at once.
And now, after a long and tireless effort, Whitehall has finally found the entrance to the city he had been dreaming of. Hydra's experts managed to help him confirm that the city was buried deep underground in Puerto Rico through a multi-spectrum topographic scan, with one of the entrances in San Juan.
There are no words to describe the excitement in Daniel Whitehall's heart, he has spent his life exploring the mystery of the "obelisk", and he once compared the meaning of the obelisk to himself to the value of the cosmic cube to their founder, the Red Skull, so you can imagine how he felt.
And the only fly in the ointment was that before he had time to go down to this ancient city, S.H.I.E.L.D. also knew.
***
"Sir, I believe Daniel Whitehall's position has been located." Shirley's voice came through the speakers of the private lab, "According to the wire, Whitehall seems to want to enter an alien city that was left on Earth by aliens in ancient times, and he believes that something in that city can exert the true power of the 'Obelisk'. ”
"Finally willing to show up?" Michael was immersed in a black book on chaos magic as he spoke.
Not to mention anything else, Whitehall's hide-and-seek skills Michael still admires. The Heavenly Sword Bureau had only managed to locate Whitehall's stronghold for so long - and that time the cunning four-eyed fox had slipped away before the base could be taken, leaving only his henchman, Sunil Bakshi, to take care of the aftermath.
Mr. Bakshi swore an oath of absolute allegiance to Whitehall and would not divulge the slightest bit of information, so Michael threw him to the Scarlet Witch as a telepathic training subject.
But poor Mr. Bakshi really didn't seem to know anything about where his boss was. Wanda used telepathy to dig up almost all the secrets in this guy's stomach, from the secrets he had observed over the years with Whitehall to the various aspects of his personal private life, but there was no useful information.
When Mr. Bakshi is even about to share the jealous love history of several of his lovers, Wanda finally stops the interrogation and confidently reports that this guy really doesn't know anything.
"The confirmed location was San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team under Director Phil Coulson was in place, and there was an exchange of fire between the two sides. Shall we join in, sir? ”
"Of course." Michael closed the book and stood up, "Prepare, we don't want to miss the party." ”
