Chapter 57: Aliens

The first day is always the hardest.

If there's one thing Skye has learned from growing up in a homeless lifestyle, it's definitely in the first place. She's always moving from one place to another, and S.H.I.E.L.D. is by far the place she's stayed the longest. However, this lifestyle also has the advantage of helping her adapt to the unfamiliar environment quickly.

By nightfall, Skye didn't feel as bad about her cage-like cabin as she had been. On the bright side, at least she could take a break from the associated with terrorist organizations and supercriminals for a while. It's beautiful, it's isolated, and it's unlikely that terrorists or aliens will chase it here.

...... Probably.

Skye leaned over the armrest of the living room couch and listened to a talk show over the radio, yawning as she grew sleepy.

Until she was sure she heard the rustle of something passing through the bushes.

Maybe it's a deer in the mountains or something? No, it can't be, Coulson had said that there was a laser fence around the neighborhood that surrounded the cabin like a high-tech cage, and it was impossible for any animals to break in.

Skye suddenly fell asleep. She swallowed, got up and walked out the door, and groped around the room for half a circle.

When she turned the corner, she did find a person, a tall, dark figure standing in the darkness, motionless like a stake, so frightened that she almost didn't scream.

"Who are you? How do you get through the laser mesh? She asked subconsciously.

There was no answer. But the man pulled out a small device from behind him, laying it flat in the palm of his hand, and the arrow that appeared on the pale blue virtual interface pointed straight at where Skye was standing, as if the sniper's crosshair had locked onto the target.

Skye instinctively felt that it was certainly not a good sign.

The man put away his instrument and took a step, revealing his heavy tomahawk from behind him. The light from the square window of the hut revealed skin as deep as the sea, reflected in the silver axe.

Great, an alien with an axe, and it looks like that's the end of Coulson's "safe place".

I don't know if the alien didn't understand the local language or simply didn't want to speak, so he stepped forward without saying a word, and the axe fell heavily on his head. Skye deftly dodged and slid to the alien's right side.

While she can't harness her powerful abilities just yet, that doesn't stop her from being a good S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. In the case of an alien with an axe trying to cut off her head, Skye showed quite good mental qualities. She dodged two heavy axes from the alien in a row, and flew up as hard as she could, kicking the opponent's back knee hard.

But the alien was surprisingly steady in the game, and he didn't move at all in the face of her beautiful kicks. Skye ducked back, the sharp edge of the axe slashing across the tip of her nose with a cold whirlwind.

The alien kept moving, followed by a backhand sweeping with the handle of the axe, and the movement was so consistent that it didn't give her the slightest respite. Skye couldn't dodge it, so he had to raise his arm in a dull manner. The handle of the giant axe struck her forearm with a thousand pounds, and at that moment she felt as if she had been hit head-on by a truck, and her whole body flew out of the distance uncontrollably.

Skye fell down a slope and rolled down the slope like a car with failed brakes, until his back hit a broken stump before he could stop.

She gasped violently, and felt that every bone and muscle in her body was in sharp pain. The arm that had been hit was even more unconscious, and she wasn't even sure if it was still attached to her.

Tiredness and soreness poured out of every cell of her body, as if to persuade her to stop and rest, but the waking consciousness forced her to act. The alien madman with the axe had appeared at the top of the slope, and was walking unhurriedly towards her, the axe slicing through all obstacles in its path.

She couldn't help but start cursing her superpowers in her stomach, and it didn't stop when she shouldn't, and it didn't move when it was supposed to work, it seemed like she was deliberately finding fault.

She tried to stand up, only to find that she had sprained her ankle and couldn't get up from the stake behind her after two attempts. The blue alien was now less than ten paces away from her, and he lifted his axe and shook it in his hand like an executioner walking to the execution ground.

There are five steps left. Skye heard himself gasping for breath, his heart beating out of control. The earth began to tremble slightly, and her unreliable superpowers seemed to have finally come out at this critical juncture, but unfortunately a small earthquake did not seem to be able to stop the blue-skinned alien.

There are three steps left. The alien ignored the shaking of the ground and tightened his grip on the handle of the axe, ready to lift the axe and slash down.

Skye subconsciously hugged his head.

But the expected blow did not hit for a long time.

She opened her eyes in confusion, only to see the alien's tomahawk held high above her head. A black steel palm grasped the alien's raised wrist like pincers, and the pitch-black armor appeared silently at the side of the two like a ghost, and the V-shaped mirror revealed a light blue fluorescence.

It's ...... The Black Knight on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s high-risk wanted list?

So shouldn't this guy be a bad guy?

The light blue glow of the armor illuminated the alien's hideous blue face, which seemed to show no less surprise than Skye's, if that expression was also a sign of surprise to the alien.

Grabbing the alien's arm with one hand to block his axe, Michael followed with his right foot and kicked 60% of his strength on the opponent's solid chest wrapped in armor. But the alien was really stable, and he only staggered back a few steps to bear the tons of leg strength, and finally barely stopped his foot.

Skye's body weight was leaning against the stump, dragging his unconscious arm and struggling to sit up straight: "You...... Why? ”

Michael didn't seem to hear it, or acted like he didn't realize he had just saved someone. He faced the alien he had kicked back, the lock frame on the screen already locking the other party, and various scanners swept the blue-skinned hunk from head to toe in a matter of seconds.

"Kree, I guess?" He asked in a voice-changing bass.

"Warriors of the Earth." The blue-skinned alien – aka the Kree – narrowed his eyes, "I didn't expect a place like Earth to breed warriors like this. But I'm not here for you, earthling. Get out of the way, it's none of your business. ”

His gaze looked over Michael's shoulder to Skye sitting behind him.

"That woman isn't one of you anymore." The Kree said coldly, "She was born from an ancient Kree experiment, and it is a weapon that belongs to the Kree Empire." ”

"You mean you're the same kind as you guys? Forget it, I'd rather go along with Hydra. Skye said.

She was still hard-mouthed, but only she understood that she was too scared in her heart. Somewhere in her heart she had accepted the Kree claim, because it seemed to make sense - she had become a monster, an uncontrollable alien weapon, so she had to be isolated by her companions in this paradise-like place.

She felt hopeless.

"Last chance, warriors of the earth." The Kree lifted his heavy greataxe, "You get out of the way now, let me complete my mission, and then I'll be away from your planet at once - and with this uncontrollable and dangerous weapon." How about this proposal? ”
