Chapter 1: Black Armor

Next Chapter

Somewhere in the middle of the mountains, the location is not disclosed.

The watchtower's searchlight is like a white arc knife, rotating and cutting in circles in the dark. Buildings are connected side by side, and the brilliant lights illuminate the dark mountainside. Radars lined up neatly in the darkness behind the building, their heads tilted back like sunflowers.

The pitch-black steel raptor flew over the mountains and came to the light-filled complex. It was a black gunship, with red lights flashing prominently under the spinning propellers. Military off-road and heavy transporters lined up on the road below it, and their headlights pierced the night like lightsabers.

"Please note that the evacuation order has been confirmed, please evacuate immediately in the designated vehicle. Again, this is not a drill ......"

The loud and clear evacuation order was repeated over and over again through every broadcast in the complex, and heavily armed soldiers and civilian personnel in suits followed the instructions to carry out the evacuation work in an orderly and rapid manner.

The helicopter roared and landed in the reserved clearing. S.H.I.E.L.D. director and super agent Nick Fury swooped out of the cabin, his black trench coat flying like a black battle flag under the hurricane of the propellers.

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Deputy Director, Maria Hill, and Senior Agent Phil Coulson, who had been waiting for a long time, led their Director into the direct elevator to the top-secret lab. They descended to the very bottom of the facility in an elevator and entered a spacious laboratory with a hemispherical dome dozens of meters high clasped upside down like a pot lid.

"What's going on, Doctor?" Nick Fury strode into the lab and asked aloud.

Dr. Eric Sevig, a half-bald physicist, hurried up to him. Before that, he was fiddling with an intricately constructed circular electronic device in the center of the room, a blue cube fixed in the center of the device, and deep blue energy flowed through it like a stream of water.

"Cosmic Rubik's Cube...... It's a little bit out of the ordinary. ”

"Is this a joke?"

"Not at all." Dr. Sevig said, "The Cosmic Cube is not only very active, but it also has some special reactions. ”

"I'm assuming you've tried unplugging?"

"Tried, but it's a source of energy in itself." The doctor shook his head, "We unplugged it and it turned on itself again. And if you saturate it with energy......"

"Isn't that exactly what we want, Doctor?" Fury stopped, "Mastering cosmic energy? ”

Dr. Sevig walked over to the computer on the bench, "No, we're not ready. My calculations are far from complete. It's constantly generating interference waves, radiation, but it's not harmful, just very low gamma rays. ”

Fury's one-eyed eyelids seem to jump when they hear the word "gamma rays."

"It's still going to be harmful."

As he spoke, he pressed down on his headset and said, "Agent Barton, report." ”

Senior Agent Clint Patton slid nimbly down a black rope from a great height. He is a top archer and one of Fury's most trusted agents. He is said to have eagle-like vision, hence the code name "Eagle Eye".

"No one in or out, no outside contact, no instant messaging." Barton walked over to the machine, his eyes keenly scanning the mysterious Rubik's Cube, "If anyone does it, it's not at this end." ”

"'This end'?" Fury repeated his diction.

"The Rubik's Cube is a gateway to the other side of the universe, isn't it?" Barton folded his arms, "The door can be opened from both sides." ”

As if in response to his words, the Rubik's Cube suddenly emitted a strange sound. The dark blue fluid suddenly accelerated, and the high concentration of energy dispersed like a cloud of mist. Invisible fluctuations burst out of the small cube, and the entire facility under everyone's feet trembled violently, and the steel bars let out a chilling whisper.

Dr. Sevig's expression in front of the computer seemed to freeze, and he saw that the values of all the instruments began to soar as if they were dying! The energy that continued to radiate formed a fierce vortex on the surface of the Rubik's Cube like an air current, and the roaring sound became louder and louder, violently impacting everyone's eardrums.

The soaring energy climbed to a peak, and the blue laser stabbed forward like a sword. The space screamed as it was torn open, and blue energy swept through the room like a transparent tidal wave.

The energy vanished, space returned, and a man appeared where the beam was pointing. He was covered in a flaming blue light, and his hand held a black scepter with a pale blue glow at the tip of the scepter.

He slowly raised his head, a cruel smile on his face.

His name is Loki, the god of trickery in Norse mythology, from the realm of the gods called "Asgard".

Heavily armed black-clad agents surrounded him, seven or eight guns pointed at him, and the encirclement slowly closed.

"Sir." Frelang broke the silence, "Please put down your spear. ”

Loki squinted at the scepter in his hand, seemingly hesitating for half a second. Then the scepter was lifted coldly, and a dazzling ball of blue light whizzed out like a cannonball. Agent Barton pushed his boss aside just in time, and the ball of light blew up a lab bench behind them.

Without hesitation, the agents pulled the trigger, and seven or eight guns spat out tongues of fire at him in unison. Loki leapt to his feet in the face of the gunfire and pounced forward like a goose, all the bullets ricocheting off his body. He moved swiftly through like a black snake, his scepter dragging a blue arc of light at a rapid wave. The agents had no chance of his incredible strength and reflexes, and in the blink of an eye, a room full of agents had been knocked over by him.

Loki turned slowly, his gaze swept over the messy lab, and finally stopped at Nick Fury and the Cosmic Cube beside him.

He smiled coldly and raised his scepter once more. A beep sounded like an engine starting, and blue energy swirled into a swirl at the tip of his staff, like a fully drawn bow.

A beam of shock light burst out from the depths of darkness and exploded in the back of the heart of the god. Loki stumbled to the ground, and the energy condensed on the scepter vanished in an instant.

"Who!?"

He let out a low roar and quickly cast his gaze in the direction of the sneak attack.

The figure dwelling in the darkness seemed to suddenly appear on the circular walkway more than thirty meters above the ground that surrounded the inner wall of the laboratory. It was a guy wrapped tightly in black armor, with white stripes painted on his limbs and chest. The eye of his helmet was a V-shaped eyepiece that glowed with a pale blue glow as Loki shouted.

He was silent, and the room was filled with the world's best agents and a god from Asgard, but no one knew when or how this guy had entered.

He jumped from a height of more than thirty meters and landed in a half-squatting position. The room reverberated with the humming echo of metal as the metal armor hit the ground, and the gray-black composite gold floor of the lab caved violently.

Loki cautiously clenched the scepter in his hand, and the tip of the scepter shining with blue light pointed at the black guy who suddenly broke in, and the boot subconsciously slid back half a step.

"Who are you?"

There was no answer. The man in armor was clearly not the type to like, and without saying a word, he raised his palm, and a beam of blue pulsing light burst out of his palm, aiming straight at Loki's face.

There was no room for hesitation, and he relied on Superman's reflex nerve to swing his staff to pick up the impact, and the arrow stepped closer to close the distance. He swayed and walked diagonally to the other's side, his scepter dragging a blue trail towards the side of the other's face.

Loki was raised as a prince of Asgard since he was a child, and although he was not the type to be good at fighting, he was not ambiguous in terms of combat skills. The scepter shifted in his hand, cutting through the darkness in a trail of blue.

But the meticulous network he had built was still unable to stop the pace of the attack. Loki didn't see the other man's specific movements, but his scepter was skillfully swung away by the other party with his armarmor. The black palm wrapped in armor slammed into his chest like a thunderbolt, causing him to stagger back two steps. The man swirled on his feet, his legs swept like a whirlwind along an obtuse arc. Although Loki could raise his arms to support him, he was still shocked by the force contained in it, and he rolled in mid-air twice before falling to the ground.

It's not at all what was planned. Loki prides himself on being a god, thinking that he has few opponents on earth, who knows that he has not been handsome for more than three seconds before he first appears...... Are the earthlings of the past few years already so difficult?

Agent Patton half-crouched behind cover, carefully observing the situation in the field, turned his head sideways to the director who was hunched over and hiding behind a lab table, and asked, "That's what you arranged too?" ”

"It's not." Fury narrowed his eyes and looked at the black armor, and said in a low voice, "Let's wait and see what happens for now." ”

Loki stood up on his knees, raised his hand in surprise, and the scepter spat out a blue ball of light again. The high concentration of energy roared and flew in front of the black armor, but it suddenly crashed into a barrier that burst out of thin air. Flame-colored light suddenly appeared in front of the black armor, and quickly formed a magic array with intricate patterns, like a shield to block Loki's surprise attack.

Loki was stunned for a moment, and the other party obviously didn't mean to give him time to be in a daze. The black armor raised its right palm, and the beam of energy exploded mercilessly on Loki's heroic face, sending him backwards and backwards, and his back slammed into the inner wall of the laboratory's ring, and he couldn't get up after falling to the ground, and the scepter rolled to the side.

Loki lay on the ground gritting his teeth, trembling and reaching for the scepter not far away. But the black armor walked up to him unhurriedly, and the heavy black boots stomped his palms on the soles of his feet.

Loki raised his head with a hideous face, almost squeezing out between his teeth and said, "You...... Who exactly? ”

The wearer in the black armor finally spoke, and his voice seemed to be mechanically muffled.

"Your nightmare."
