Chapter 3: Terror on a Rainy Night

Ever since what happened to Grandma Gu, I have been depressed, and even my usual naughtiness has been restrained a lot, but the whole person seems a little listless. Fortunately, the third grade of study is over, and I have ushered in the summer vacation.

One night, I was watching TV alone at my home on the second floor. My mother had a heart attack a few days ago and was hospitalized, so my father helped me make dinner and went to accompany my mother. Grandma Teng helped me clean up the kitchen, watched me take a shower, told me to go to bed early, and went out to her little sister's house to play mahjong.

I was sitting on the right side of the door, with my back against the wall, watching a 12-inch black-and-white TV with no lights on. Outside the board wall is a narrow semi-enclosed wooden corridor, with Grandma Teng's house and Aunt Liao's house on the left and right; Near the stairs, there used to be Grandma Gu, but now it is empty; There is a patio outside the corridor, and on the second floor of the patio are the four households that entered the previous one.

My mom used to work three shifts, and I used to watch TV alone and then go to bed by myself, so I didn't think anything unusual at first. But on the TV that day, it was our domestic "horror movie", there was no content, only "ah, ah......" screaming and "horror music" from time to time, I was a little upset, so I turned the volume to the lowest.

At this time, I felt a little abnormal, this old house is not soundproof, and I can always hear all kinds of sounds, but today, there is no sound at all, and it is so quiet that people's scalps are numb. I opened the door and stuck my head out to look around, but it was darkness; I listened closely, and there was silence, not even the sound of rats and insects crawling.

I gritted my teeth, walked out of the door, and knocked on the door of Grandma Teng's house and Aunt Liao next door. In the darkness, only the sound of a knock on the wooden door could be heard, but no one answered.

I panicked, so I shouted: "Xiaohua, Xiaohua!" Aunt Liao, Aunt Liao! But no one answered.

I wanted to go downstairs to the front to have a look, but the wooden staircase not far away suddenly made a "rattling" sound, and I was startled, and pricked up my ears to listen, but there was no sound anymore. But I was so flustered, could it be...... Grandma Gu, she's here again?

Suddenly, a scream came from my room, and I shuddered and reluctantly turned around to look, and it turned out to be the sound of the TV. But who turned up the volume? I peeked at the other side of the stairs, the mouth of the stairs was like a giant's mouth, so black that I didn't dare to imagine it any longer, so I hurried into the room and closed the door tightly.

At that moment, I heard a series of thunder in the sky, and then I heard the sound of dense raindrops hitting the roof and the ground.

It's raining heavily? What's going on? The weather forecast says it's been sunny for the past few days! I glanced at the TV again, oh my God! There was also thunder on TV, it was raining, and a woman was walking alone on a dark rumbling path, with slow and eerie music in the background. I watched it for a while, I really couldn't stand it anymore, so I quickly turned down the volume first, and just when I wanted to change the channel, I heard someone knocking on the window pane of my house!

If it were now, I would have plugged my ears and hid my head under the table. There was no one downstairs in my house, it was an empty, locked warehouse, and the windows were sealed with thick boards; Looking out of the window, you can only see the roofs of other people's houses, and the nearest ones are about 5 or 6 meters away. If a neighbor wants to knock on my window, he has to climb out and rub on the wooden window frame less than 3 centimeters wide.

There can't be anyone!

However, my head probably didn't even think at the time, so I went straight around the TV and the wooden plank that separated the room, which was used to separate the room, and the large bed on the other side, and rushed to the window.

A flash of lightning flashed, and I saw a snow-white cat standing in front of the window, its eyes sparkling, one green and the other blue.

Another flash of lightning, I watched straight at it as I raised its front paws for a long time, "tuk-tuk" knocking on the windowpane, elegantly and rhythmically. Then it lies on the glass with its two paws and sticks its face to it. It was so close that I could clearly see it smiling at me. It was as if my whole body was dipped in icy water, and I couldn't help but shiver, and it was laughing at me! Like a human, with a condescending and vicious mockery!

Thunder rumbled, lightning lit up the otherwise dark sky, and the windows were tightly closed, but I didn't feel reassured at all, and my back was cold. I desperately told myself that cats were originally animals with this mysterious, lazy temperament, but my subconscious keenly reminded me that something was not right, this was not a cat! It came across as odd and hostile to me, but I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. It sneered silently, with no intention of stopping.

Suddenly, it rubbed its front paws against itself, and with a flash of lightning, I finally knew something was wrong with it. It began to rain heavily, but when it knocked on the window, it was so clean that there was not a drop of water on it. And now it's raining, and the old house has nothing to shelter from the rain except for the narrow eaves, but it's still not wet at all!

I felt like it was going to break through the window, but my mind went blank, I didn't know what to do, my hands and feet were stiff as if they weren't my own. I just stood straight and watched it break through the window, but it was intact.

It smirked and tilted its head to look at me, like I was already a mouse under its paws. As it approached me, I was horrified to find that its body was still that big, but its front paws had suddenly grown larger and longer. It stretched out a huge claw and grabbed me by the neck at once. The sharp claws glistened coldly, and I scratched my neck with blood, and I instinctively tried to break its claws with both hands, but the force was so great that I didn't even want to shake it.

Just when I felt my head swell and it was very difficult to breathe, I heard a strange "hiss" sound in my ears, and then I heard it let out an angry "meow" and it actually let go of its claws!

I quickly gasped for breath, coughed, and groped my way against the wall.

"Hiss, hiss, hiss", I was stunned and turned my head to look at the place where the sound was made. Yes! At some point, two more snakes appeared on the floor of my house.

The snake swam close to me, and I realized that it was not two snakes, but a snake with two heads. Its two heads are distinct, one large and one small, the larger one is bright red and the smaller one is grayish-brown. The bright red snake also had a yellowish protrusion on its head, like a horn. I didn't expect to save me with such a weird two-headed snake, and my heart was full of thoughts.

Now, with lightning and thunder outside the window, and heavy rain, an angry white cat and a strange two-headed snake inside the house are nervously facing each other.

I shrunk back, held my breath, and clung to the wall, not daring to move, for fear that any of them would pounce again, or that they would suddenly fight and hurt the fish in the pond.

After a long, long time, so long that I was almost suffocated, the cat's tense body suddenly relaxed, and it stretched gracefully, then turned its head and looked at me arrogantly and mockingly, and then glared at the two-headed snake fiercely, and jumped on the windowsill, and as it came, broke through the window, and disappeared into the air.

I felt the two-headed snake staring coldly at the white cat until the cat was gone, and it seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. It swam towards me, and my heart lifted again, and who knows what it wants to do to me! It seemed to sense my fear, spun around at my feet, and suddenly disappeared!

The rain had not stopped, there was no more thunder, there was no lightning, and it was very dark.

For a long time, I struggled to move my steps and mechanically walked to the TV. There were only "rustling" snowflakes on the TV screen.

Broken? I was startled, but finally regained some senses, and I looked at the alarm clock next to the table, it was 12:30! I wiped the sweat that kept dripping down, and I still remember that the "horror movie" started at 7:30, and before I knew it, 5 hours had passed!

Is what I just experienced really illusory?

I turned my head to look around, the room was empty, and I couldn't find any evidence of their appearance, and I consoled myself that maybe it was just a nightmare I had!

However, the next morning, I woke up and was ready to comb my hair. In the mirror, however, I could clearly see the scratches on my neck from the cat's sharp claws, and a few deep and long scars that had not yet scabbed.

I was stunned for a long time, and immediately rushed to the window, where I found the cat's paw prints, but only on the glass and the wooden frame under the glass. I turned around and ran to Aunt Liao and Grandma Teng's house on both sides to check, and there were no paw prints in other places.

I asked Aunt Liao's family, where did they go last night? They all thought it was strange and replied that I had been watching TV at home. I panicked and asked Xiaohua again, and the answer was the same.

I didn't give up, and when I asked them if they heard me knocking on the door, they all laughed and said, "Didn't you turn off the lights and go to bed last night?" ”

I was distraught and asked them if they had seen a white cat, and I described what it looked like. The adults all laughed, and said that I have a rich imagination, and such a cat must be a precious Persian cat, how can it be like a wild cat scurrying around; And no one has ever raised it in this area, you naughty kid is making up stories again!

I'm really dumbfounded, am I hallucinating at such a young age? But what about the paw prints on the window, the scars on my neck? And what's going on with that weird two-headed snake? And most importantly, will they still come to me?

I have no master, and the more I think about it, the more scared I become. I thought of Grandma Teng and immediately ran to find her. Grandma Teng slept at her little sister's place after playing mahjong last night, and just came back this morning.

After I finished talking about everything and showed her the scar on her neck, Grandma Teng frowned and muttered to herself, "What's wrong with this child?" I keep seeing these unclean things! Could it be that the eight characters are too light? Or yin and yang eyes? It's not like that! ”

I don't understand it, but that's not what I care about: "Grandma Teng, you said that the cat, and the two-headed snake, will they still come to me?" Are they like Grandma Gu......"

"It's okay, the cat won't come again! As for the snake, it has always been there, and it is the guardian snake of our old house. It's been around for a long time! ”

"Oh, did we raise it?"

"Not us. It was raised by the ancestors. Rest assured, it won't hurt us! Grandma Teng saw that I was still not very relieved, so she deliberately pretended to be relaxed and quipped: "It's really useless!" You are a dragon, are you still afraid of a cat or a snake? ”

I lowered my head embarrassedly and smiled, but I didn't see the deep worry in Grandma Teng's eyes.

Later, I had several illnesses for no reason, but because of Grandma Teng's advice, I didn't tell my father and mother about that day.

Later, the white cat did not reappear in the old house.

A few months later, my scars had long since faded. I was relieved and turned into that naughty tomboy again, and I had no idea that a new danger was looming over me!
